Static analysis of corrugated panels using homogenization models and a cell-based smoothed mindlin plate element (CS-MIN3)

Homogenization is a promising approach to capture the behavior of complex structures like corrugated panels. It enables us to replace high-cost shell models with stiffness-equivalent orthotropic plate alternatives. Many homogenization models for corrugated panels of different shapes have been proposed. However, there is a lack of investigations for verifying their accuracy and reliability. In addition, in the recent trend of development of smoothed finite element methods, the cell-based smoothed three-node Mindlin plate element (CS-MIN3) based on the first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT) has been proposed and successfully applied to many analyses of plate and shell structures. Thus, this paper further extends the CS-MIN3 by integrating itself with homogenization models to give homogenization methods. In these methods, the equivalent extensional, bending, and transverse shear stiftriess components which constitute the equivalent orthotropic plate models are represented in explicit analytical expressions. Using the results of ANSYS and ABAQUS shell simulations as references, some numerical examples are conducted to verify the accuracy and reliability of the homogenization methods for static analyses of trapezoidally and sinusoidally corrugated panels.

Investigation of Polymorphisms in Coding Region of OsHKT1in Relation to Salinity in Rice

Rice （Oryza sativa） is sensitive to salinity, but the salt tolerance level differs among cultivars,which might result from natural variations in the genes that are responsible for salt tolerance. High-affinitypotassium transporter （HKTs） has been proven to be involved in salt tolerance in plants. Therefore, wescreened for natural nucleotide polymorphism in the coding sequence of OsHKT1, which encodes the HKTprotein in eight Vietnamese rice cultivars differing in salt tolerance level. In total, seven nucleotidesubstitutions in coding sequence of OsHKT1 were found, including two non-synonymous and five synonymoussubstitutions. Further analysis revealed that these two non-synonymous nucleotide substitutions （G50Tand T1209A） caused changes in amino acids （Gly17Val and Asp403Glu） at signal peptide and the loop ofthe sixth transmembrane domain, respectively. To assess the potential effect of these substitutions on theprotein function, the 3D structure of HKT protein variants was modelled by using PHYRE2 webserver. Theresults showed that no difference was observed when compared those predicted 3D structure of HKTprotein variants with each other. In addition, the codon bias of synonymous substitutions cannot clearlyshow correlation with salt tolerance level. It might be interesting to further investigate the functional roles ofdetected non-synonymous substitutions as it might correlate to salt tolerance in rice.

An Enhanced Ensemble-Based Long Short-Term Memory Approach for Traffic Volume Prediction

With the advancement of artificial intelligence,traffic forecasting is gaining more and more interest in optimizing route planning and enhancing service *** volume is an influential parameter for planning and operating traffic *** study proposed an improved ensemble-based deep learning method to solve traffic volume prediction problems.A set of optimal hyperparameters is also applied for the suggested approach to improve the performance of the learning *** fusion of these methodologies aims to harness ensemble empirical mode decomposition’s capacity to discern complex traffic patterns and long short-term memory’s proficiency in learning temporal ***,a dataset for automatic vehicle identification is obtained and utilized in the preprocessing stage of the ensemble empirical mode decomposition *** second aspect involves predicting traffic volume using the long short-term memory ***,the study employs a trial-and-error approach to select a set of optimal hyperparameters,including the lookback window,the number of neurons in the hidden layers,and the gradient descent ***,the fusion of the obtained results leads to a final traffic volume *** experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms other benchmarks regarding various evaluation measures,including mean absolute error,root mean squared error,mean absolute percentage error,and *** achieved R-squared value reaches an impressive 98%,while the other evaluation indices surpass the *** findings highlight the accuracy of traffic pattern ***,this offers promising prospects for enhancing transportation management systems and urban infrastructure planning.

Prediction of acute stroke progression by the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale

Objective To determine the occurrence of neurological changes during the first 48 hours after acute stroke as it relates to the initial stroke severity assessment. Methods The assessment with the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) was performed serially for the first 48 hours on 68 consecutive ischemic stroke patients admitted to the Department of Geriatric Cardiology at the Khanh Hoa Hospital, nha trang, Vietnam. Incidence of stroke progression (a ≥ 3-point increase on the NIHSS) was recorded and analysis performed to determine its association with initial stroke severity and other demographic and physiological variables. Deficit resolution by 48 hours, defined as an NIHSS score of 0 or 1, measured the frequency of functional recovery predicted by the initial deficit. Results Overall progression was noted in 28% of events (19/68). Applying Bayes' solution to the observed frequency of worsening, the greatest likelihood of predicting future patient progression occurred with NIHSS score of =7 and >7. Patients with an initial NIHSS score of =7 experienced a 13% (6/47) worsening rate versus those of an initial score of >7 with a 62% (13/21) worsening rate (P7 returned to a normal examination within this period (χ2, P<0.05). Conclusions This study suggests that the early clinical course of neurological deficit after acute stroke be dependent on the initial stroke severity and that a dichotomy in early outcome exist surrounding an initial NIHSS score of 7. These findings may have significant implications for the design and patient stratification in treatment protocols with respect to primary clinical outcome.(J Geriatr Cardiol 2007;4:225-228.)

We formulate a local analogue of the ghost conjecture of Bergdall and Pollack,which essentially relies purely on the representation theory of GL_(2)(Q_(p)).We further study the combinatorial properties of the ghost series as well as its Newton polygon,in particular,giving a characterization of the vertices of the Newton polygon and proving an integrality result of the *** a forthcoming sequel,we will prove this local ghost conjecture under some mild hypothesis and give arithmetic applications.

Although studies of myxomycetes(plasmodial slime moulds)in the Asia Pacific region have been remarkable for the past years,studies about myxomycetes assemblages in association with homogenous vegetation are relatively *** an effort to investigate further about myxomycetes assemblages in monotypic vegetation,the present study was carried out in three different agricultural plantations(Camellia sinensis(L.)Kuntze.,Dimocarpus longan Lour.,Psidium guajava L.).Ninety percent(90%)of the moist chamber cultures gave a total of 165 records(107 determinable fruiting bodies and 58 plasmodial records).From these records,20 myxomycetes morphospecies composed of 17 clear-cut species and three varieties of the species Arcyria cinerea were *** occasionally reported myxomycetes species Physarum tenerum in other Southeast Asian countries seems to be abundantly occurring for the agricultural litters in *** study noted that agricultural leaf litter substrates with leathery leaf texture can serve as spore traps for myxomycetes that are dispersing in the ***,agricultural litters are good microhabitat for many known cosmopolitan *** is the first report of myxomycetes assemblages associated with Camellia sinensis,Dimocarpus longan and Psidium guajava leaf litters.

Does Customer Experience Management Impact Customer Loyalty Shopping at Supermarket？ The Case in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam

This research analyzes and answers the question ＂Does customer experience management impact to customer loyalty shopping at supermarket, in the case of Mekong Delta, Vietnam？＂, 321 customers of supermarkets in the Mekong Delta were interviewed by questionnaire. The descriptive statistics, factor analysis, Cronbach＇s alpha, structural equation modeling, and multi-group structural analysis methods were used in this study. The results confirm that customer experience management impacts to customer loyalty shopping at supermarkets. There are six components of customer experience management including brand name, space, commodity, staff, parking lot, and the presence of other stores in supermarkets. In particular, the commodity composition has the strongest impact on customer experience management and satisfaction and directly influences on customer loyalty. In addition, elements of customer experience management affect customer loyalty indirectly through sensory experience, social experience, and satisfaction. The results of multivariate analysis show that age group, spending per shopping at supermarkets, and marital status of the client do not change the relationships in the research model. Meanwhile, the relationship of the different models of the client group income, gender, education, occupation and customers is different. This study adds value to consumer behavior and customer experience management literature.

Numerical investigation of the effect of seasonal variations of depthof-closure on shoreline evolution

The current study presents the effects of seasonal variations in the depth-of-closure（D;） on shoreline evolution using a numerical,one-line shoreline *** erosion of the southern beach of the nha trang Coast,which is located in south central of Vietnam,is selected as the study *** study area is immensely influenced by the tropical monsoon climate that has a clear pattern of large waves in the northeast monsoon season and calm waves in the non-monsoon *** analysis of the long-term measured shoreline variations from a video-camera system has found a strong correlation of these variations to the monsoon-dominated wave characteristics in the nha trang ***,a new approach for determining the depth-of-closure with consideration of the seasonal wave climate changes is purposed in the current *** implementing this new approach into a numerical,one-line shoreline model,it is found that the seasonal variations of D;appear to better describe the periodical shoreline evolution due to the monsoon-dominated wave characteristics for the nha trang *** important findings are considered to commonly apply for monsoon-dominated coastal regions in *** findings are useful information not only for scientific readers but also for the coastal authorities and managers in order to make better countermeasure plans against this kind of erosion mechanism in the future.
