Dry eye rate and its relationship with disease stage in patients with primary hypertension:a cross-sectional study in Vietnam

AiM:to determine the dry eye(DE)rate and its relationship with disease stage in patients with primary ***:A cross-sectional study included 432 patients with primary hypertension(with an equal number of patients in each group:144 in stage Ⅰ,Ⅱ,and Ⅲ hypertension)and 144 healthy subjects as a control *** Ocular Surface Disease index(OSDi)and Schirmer Ⅰ test without anesthetics were conducted on all 576 *** with OSDi scoresirmer Ⅰ values equal to or under 10 mm were diagnosed with ***:the ratio of DE in hypertension patients was higher than in the control group(41.7%versus 18.8%;Pthe proportion of patients with DE increased gradually according to the hypertension stage:27.1% in stage Ⅰ,40.3% in stage Ⅱ,and 57.6% in stage Ⅲ,Ption of hypertension,plasma urea,creatinine,and high-sensitivity C-reactive prot.in(CRP-hs)levels in hypertension patients with DE were higher than those without DE,Ption of hypertension,diabetes mellitus,elevated plasma creatinine,and CRP-hs levels were independent factors associated with DE in primary hypertension patients,Pis a common disorder associated with advanced age,a long duration of hypertension,diabetes mellitus,elevated plasma CRP-hs,and creatinine levels in patients with primary hypertension.

Our study aimed to compare the essential oil(EO)concentration and composition of several Apiaceae species growing in the Northern region of *** yields of EOs from materials ranged from 0.03%(root EO of Angelica acutiloba and aerial parts EO of Heracleum bivittatum)-0.27%(leaf EO of Xyloselinum vietnamense).Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS)allowed the identiﬁcation of 74 components in the EOs of six Apiaceae species,making up 94.4%–100.0%of the *** EO from Angelica acutiloba,(Z)-ligustilide accounted for an extremely large proportion(94.9%).EO of Angelica pubescens was dominated by six character-istic components includingα-pinene(21.5%),β-phellandrene(18.1%),p-cymene(12.2%),3-methylnonane(8.7%),o-cymene(8.1%),and D-sylvestrene(6.2%).the EO from Cryptotaenia japonica was characterized by high amounts ofα-selinene(48.7%),β-selinene(23.7%),and trans-β-farnesene(5.4%).the EOs from leaves and stems of Xyloselinum vietnamense were characterized by high concentrations of sabinene(69.8%and 33.8%),4-terpineol(8.7%and 7.4%)andβ-pinene(4.0%and 6.5%)while EOs from aerial parts and root of Xylo-selinum leonidii comprise four characteristic monoterpenes includingα-pinene(28.2%and 52.8%),β-pinene(7.9%and 10.3%),β-phellandrene(7.6%and 15.3%),and sabinene(3.0%and 4.1%).Additionally,cryptone is also one of the major components in the EO of Xyloselinum leonidii(13.2%in the aerial parts oil and 2.8%in the root oil).in the EOs isolated from the aerial parts and root of Heracleum bivittatum,α-pinene(22.5%and 70.2%)andβ-pinene(43.2%and 20.0%)were the predominant *** appeared in the EO from aerial parts of Heracleum bivittatum with a relatively high concentration(13.5%)while bornyl acetate(5.1%)was also one of the main components in the EO from its aerial parts but was not detected in other Apiaceae species in the present *** databases help identify and control the quality of plant material studied from the family Apiaceae growing in Vietnam.

Environmental pollution,such as water contamination,is a critical issue that must be absolutely ***,three different morphologies of tungsten-based photocatalysts(WO_(3)nanorods,WO_(3)/WS_(2)nanobricks,WO_(3)/WS_(2)nanorods)are made using a simple hydrothermal method by changing the solvents(H_(2)O,DMF,aqueous HCl solution).the as-prepared nanocatalysts have excellent thermal stability,large porosity,and high *** results show all materials have good photocatalytic activity in aqueous media,with WO_(3)/WS_(2)nanorods(NRs)having the best activity in the photodegradation of bisphenol A(BPA)under visible-light *** may originate from increased migration of charge carriers and effective prevention of electron–hole recombination in WO_(3)/WS_(2)NRs,whereby t.is photocatalyst.is able to generate more reactive·OH and·O_(2)^(–)species,leading to greater photocatalytic *** 99.6% of BPA is photodegraded wit.in 60 min when using 1.5 g/L WO_(3)/WS_(2)NRs and 5.0 mg/L BPA at pH ***,the optimal conditions(pH,catalyst dosage,initial BPA concentration)for WO_(3)/WS_(2)NRs are also elaborately *** rod-like heterostructures are expressed as potential catalysts with excellent photostability,efficient reusability,and highly active effectivity in different types of *** particular,the removal efficiency of BPA by WO_(3)/WS_(2)NRs reduces by only 1.5% after five recycling runs and even reaches 89.1%in contaminated lake *** study provides promising insights for the nearly complete removal of BPA from wastewater or different water resources,which is advantageous to various applications in environmental remediation.

Objective:to investigate the prevalence and risk factors associated with long COViD symptoms among children and adolescents who have recovered from ***:t.is study applied a cross-sectional approach wit.in community set.ings in a southern province of Vietnam.A structured questionnaire featuring socio-demographic information and common long COViD symptoms was *** correlation coefficients assessed associations among pairs of long COViD ***,multivariable logistic regression models were performed to investigate the risk factors of long COViD in recovered COViD-19 children and ***:Among 422 participants,39.3%reported long COViD symptoms,with a prevalence of 45.2%(SD=0.5)in children and 22.2%(SD=0.4)in *** symptoms reported were cough 34.6%(SD=0.5),fatigue 20.6%(SD=0.4),shortness of breath 10.9%(SD=0.3),and lack of appetite 6.6%(SD=0.3).Concerning risk factors of long COViD,a higher risk was observed among demographic groups,including girls(OR 1.25,95%Ci 1.15-1.37;Pildren compared to adolescents(OR 1.24,95%Ci 1.12-1.37;Pight.individuals(OR 1.14,95%Ci 1.02-1.27;P=0.018,reference:healthy weight),and participants without any COViD-19 vaccination(OR 1.36,95%Ci 1.20-1.54;Phave received only one single dose(OR 1.35,95%Ci 1.10-1.64;P=0.004)compared to those who have received two ***,patients with a COViD-19 treatment duration exceeding two weeks also had a higher risk of long COViD(OR 1.32,95%Ci 1.09-1.60;P=0.003)than those who recovered less than seven ***:the insights from t.is study provide crucial guidance for predicting the factors associated with the occurrence of long COViD in pediat.ic patients,cont.ibuting to strategic interventions aimed at mitigating the long COViD risks among children and adolescents in Vietnam.

Background in Viet Nam, tuberculosis (tB) represents a devastating life-event with an exorbitant price tag, partly due to lost.income from daily directly observed therapy in public sector care. thus, persons with tB may seek care in the private sector for its flexibility, convenience, and privacy. Our study aimed to measure income changes, costs and catastrophic cost.incurrence among tB-affected households in the public and private *** Between October 2020 and March 2022, we conducted 110 longitudinal patient cost.interviews, among 50 patients privately treated for tB and 60 tB patients treated by the National tB Program (NtP) in ha Noi, hai Phong and Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam. Using a local adaptation of the WHO tB patient cost survey tool, participants were interviewed during the intensive phase, continuation phase and post-treatment. We compared income levels, direct and indirect treatment costs, catastrophic costs using Wilcoxon rank-sum and chi-squared tests and associated risk factors between the two cohorts using multivariate *** the pre-treatment median monthly household income was significantly higher in the private sector versus NtP cohort (USD 868 vs USD 578;P=0.010). However, private sector treatment was also significantly cost.ier (USD 2075 vs USD 1313;P=0.005), driven by direct medical costs which were 4.6 times higher than costs reported by NtP participants (USD 754 vs USD 164;Pt.is resulted in no significant difference in catastrophic costs between the two cohorts (Private: 55% vs NtP: 52%;P=0.675). New analyses of earlier ALMA observations of oxygen-rich AGB star EP Aquarii are presented,which complete a previously published analysis and offer a different.interpretation of the morpho-kinematics of the circumstellar *** birth of the equatorial density enhancement(EDE)is shown to occur very close to the star where evidence for rotation has been *** to the star and where outflows have been observed:their interaction with the gas of the nascent EDE is seen to play an important role in the development of the wind and the evolution of its radial velocity from 8 to 10 km s^(-1) on the polar symmetry axis to~2 km s^(-1) at the *** implies complex morpho-kinematics:making reliable interpretations with reasonable confidence is *** particular,it questions an earlier interpretation implying the presence of a white dwarf companion orbiting the star at an angular distance of -0″4 from its *** proposes instead an interpretation in terms of a standard mass ejection associated with a shock wave leaving a void of emission in its *** Doppler velocity wings are seen to consist of two components,the upper velocity end of the global wind,reaching above±12 km s^(-1),and an effective line broadening,confined wit.in 200 mas from the center of the star,reaching above±20 km s^(-1) and interpreted as caused by the pattern of shock waves resulting from the interaction between stellar pulsation and convective cell partition.

BACKGROUND t.in reversed arterial perfusion(tRAP) sequence is an extremely rare congenital anomaly in monochorionic(MC) *** condition is characterized by a malformed fetus(acardiac t.in) without cardiac activities being perfused by a structurally normal one(pump t.in) via an artery-to-artery anastomosis in a reverse *** SUMMARY We described the first case of tRAP to receive laser surgery in *** 26-wk pregnancy was originally misdiagnosed in another hospital as MC t.ins with single intrauterine fetal *** admission to our center,the diagnosis was amended to a 26-wk tRAP sequence stage *** acardiac t.in was 7.5 cm at the longest length,the ratio of the weight of the acardiac t.in to the weight of the pump t.in was more than 90%,the pump t.in showed fetal distress with absent diastolic flow in umbilical artery of pump t.in,and the peak systolic velocity in the middle cerebral artery = 1.6 Mo *** performed emergency laser photocoagulation of the acardiac t.in’s umbilical *** surgery,we successfully maint.ined the pregnancy for 8 wk and ended it electively by cesarean section at 34 wk of gestation due to rupture of *** tRAP should be appropriately diagnosed and treated early to avoid complications of the pump *** laser photocoagulation is a new and effective treatment for t.is condition.

t.is paper deals with H_(∞) control problem for nonlinear conformable fractional order systems. the authors first derive new sufficient condition for exponential stability of nonlinear conformable fractional order systems based on Lyapunov-like function method for conformable fractional order systems and linear mat.ix inequalities(LMis) approach. then, by introducing a new concepts of H_(∞) control problem for nonlinear conformable fractional order systems, the authors study H_(∞) performance analysis and H_(∞) state feedback controller design problems for the considered systems. in terms of LMis, a sufficient condition is proposed to ensure the nonlinear conformable fractional order systems are not only exponentially stable, but also satisfy H_(∞) performance γ. An explicit expression for state feedback controllers is also designed to make the closed-loop system is exponentially stable with H_∞performance γ. Finally, numerical examples are given to illustrate the validity and effectiveness of the proposed results.

Objective: to evaluate the anti-arthritic effects of Polygonatum kingianum rhizome extract using both in vitro and in vivo ***: Lipopolysaccharide-induced RAW 264.7 macrophages were treated with an ethanol extract of Polygonatum kingianum rhizomes at different concentrations to determine nit.ic oxide and prostaglandin E2(PGE2) production. Polygonatum kingianum ethanol extract exhibited potential anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting nit.ic oxide and PGE2 production in RAW 264.7 cells in a dosedependent manner. the level of arthritis in mice with collagen antibody-induced arthritis was significantly reduced(Pter treatment with Polygonatum kingianum ethanol extract, particularly at a dose of 1 000 mg/kg body weight. Besides, the extract demonstrated the regulatory effects on serum tumor necrosis factoralpha, interleukin-6, and interleukin-10 in treated ***: Polygonatum kingianum ethanol extract has beneficial effects on inflammatory cytokine regulation and PGE2 inhibition in an experimental mouse model with collagen antibody-induced arthritis. the phytochemical screening reveals that the saponin, as the main component, and sterols(daucosterol and 5α,8α-ergosterol peroxide) from Polygonatum kingianum ethanol extract may cont.ibute to its promising in vitro and in vivo anti-inflammatory activities.
