The Neoarchaean Kaigoorlie Gold Field contains the giant Golden Mile and world-class Mt Charlotte deposits,which have been the subject of much research for over 100 *** Golden Mile deposit is a complex array of ductile to brittle vein and breccia lodes that are predominantly hosted in the highlyfractionated Golden Mile Dolerite *** Fimiston lodes comprise an array of narrow lodes that evolved broadly syn- to late-formation of the regional D2 NW-trending *** lodes are characterized by pyrite veinlets and disseminations,quartz veinlets and breccias,and banded quartz-carbonate veins with sericite,carbonate,and pyrite-dominated *** Green-Leader,or Oroya-style,lodes,with grades in excess of 1000 g/t Au,are similar to the Fimiston-style lodes,but are characterized by abundant visible gold,native tellurium and more abundant telluride minerals within roscoelitebearing alteration *** arguably structurally younger Mt Charlotte-style lodes are characterized by a pipe-shaped,coarse-grained quartz,carbonate and scheelite vein-stockwork with distinct verticallyzoned,carbonate-sericite-albite-pyrite ± pyrrhotite dominant alteration assemblages around veins within Unit 8 of the Golden Mile dolerite and porphyry *** network of steep- and gently-dipping extension and shear fracture-fill veins are associated with NE-trending fault se ts that cross cut the regional *** deposit area is intruded by swarms of porphyry dykes,including syn-volcanic mafic dykes,early and volumetrically most significant c.2.67 Ga feldspar-phyric porphyry dykes,as well as later c.2.66-2.65 Ga calc-alkaline hornblende-phyric dykes associated with younger c.2.65-2.64 Ga lamprophyre *** post-volcanic dykes have similar orientations to the Fimiston *** feldspar dykes are clearly overprinted by all styles of mineralization,although the relationship between hornblende-phyric and lamprophyre dykes and gold mineralization is more *** agree

We have carried out zircon U-Pb SHRIMP dating and Hf isotope determinations on a biotite paraschist and on a tonalitic orthogneiss of the Yaminué Complex, and re-evaluate this complex in the broader context of the tectonic evolution of the Patagonia composite terrane. In the metasedimentary unit （msuYC）, the youngest detrital zircon dated at 318 ± 5 Ma （Mississippian/Pennsylvanian boundary） indicates a Pennsylvanian （or younger） depositional age. The three main age populations peak at 474, 454 and 374 Ma. Preliminary Hf isotope data for two detrital zircons （447 and 655 Ma） yielded ε（Hf） values of -0.32 and 0.48, indicating that their primary sources contained small amounts of recycled crustal components （of Calymmian age; TDM 1.56 Ga）. Zircons from the orthogneiss （miuYC; intrusive into msuYC） show a crystallization age of 261.3 - 2.7 Ma （Capitanian; late middle Permian） which is broadly coeval with deformation, and Neoarchean-Paleoproterozoic inheritance. Meaningful core-rim relationship between Neoarchean zircon cores and late Permian rims is well defined, indicating the occurrence of Archean crust in this sector of Patagonia. Hf TDM of Permian zircons is mainly Meso-Paleoarchean （2.97-3.35 Ga）, with highly negative e（Hf） values （ca, -33）. Hf TDM of inherited Neoarchean zircon cores is also Meso-Paleoarchean （3.14-3.45 Ga） but more juvenile （ε（Hf） = -0.3）. Hf isotopes reinforce the presence of unexposed ancient crust in this area. Combining geological and isotope data, as well as geophysical models, we identify the Yaminué Complex within the La Esperanza-Yaminué crustal block flanked by two other, distinct crustal blocks： the Eastern block which forms part of the Patagonia terrane sensu stricto, located in the eastern Patagonian region, and the Western block forming part of the Southern Patagonia terrane. Their origins and timing of amalgamation to form the Patagonia composite terrane are also discussed.

SHRIMP U-Pb Zircon Ages of Granitoids in the Wulashan Gold Deposit,Inner Mongolia,China:Timing of Mineralization and Tectonic Implications

The Zhangjiakou-Xuanhua area in the central part of the northern marginal zone of the North China Craton(NCC) is one of the most important gold-producing areas in China,and has been intruded by a number of alkaline and granitic batholiths or plutons,which are spatially associated with gold *** dates on these intrusions gave contradict data,dependant on the isotopic methodology used,and have lead to ambiguity in magmatic evolution and gold mineralization of the *** SHRIMP U-Pb zircon geochronology of the alkaline and granitic rocks in the area by this study has set up the tectono-magmatic history of this *** from a granitic gneiss, which hosts the Xiaoyingpan gold deposit,yielded concordant ages of ca 2.5 *** constrains regional metamorphism of the Archaean basement to be late-Archaean.A second magmatic event of ca1.8 Ga is revealed by xenocrystic/inherited zircons with this *** two Precambrian events are coeval with those in other parts of the *** largest igneous intrusion in the region,the Shuiquangou syenite-monzonite complex was emplaced at ca 390 Ma,as indicated by magmatic zircon population in the two samples from the central and eastern parts of the *** accretion of a volcanic arc onto the northern margin of NCC is considered as a plausible cause to this alkaline *** ca 390 Ma zircon age of the alkaline complex indicates that none of the previous age data for this complex correctly dated the emplacement of this complex:they are either cooling ages or resetting *** emplacement of the Guzuizi granite pluton at 236±2 Ma, represents another major magmatic event in the region,probably a response to post-collisional orogeny following amalgamation of North China and Angara *** last magmatism is marked by the emplacement of the Shangshuiquan granite at 142.2±1.3 Ma,which is most likely related to the subduction of Paleo-Pacific Plate under the Eurasian *** importantly,these resu

The Wulashan gold deposit,situated along the northwestern margin of the North China craton (NCC),is hosted by ductile-brittle faults within Archean metamorphir volcano-sedimentary rocks of the Wulashan *** deposit is characterized by gold-bearing quartz-K feldspar and quartz *** granitoid batholiths and pegmatite dikes intruded the metamorphic basement rocks,and are spatially associated with gold *** genetic models have been proposed for the deposit due to lack of reliable age *** new SHRIMP U-Pb zircon ages for these intrusions now reveal important constraints on the mineralization time and tectonic evolution of this region. These intrusions contain inherited zircons of about 2.55 *** from the Wulashan basement that was intruded by pegmatite dikes at about 1.84 Ga:the latter probably are related to the major tectonic event leading to the final amalgamation of the *** basement subsequently underwent at least three tectono-thermal events during Phanerozoic time(at 353±7.169±*** 132±2 Ma). Combined with previous Ar-Ar and K-Ar ages,we suggest two gold mineralization episodes for the Wulashan gold *** first episode occurred at about 350 *** by ages of a gold-related fuchsite and the Dahuabei granitoid *** supports a previously proposed model that relates gold mineralization to the Dahuabei granite that formed during collision of the Paleo-Mongolian block with the *** second one occurred in the late Yanshanian period,as indicated by the mineralized K-feldspar-rich vein of 132±2 *** episode is simultaneous with those in the eastern *** of a widespread late Yanshanian metallogenic event that was a response either to the subduction of the Izanagi-Pacific plate beneath eastern China or to the removal of the Early Cretaceous lithosphere in the eastern NCC.

Single zircons from two trondhjemitic gneisses and two clastic metasedimentary rocks without Eu anomaly of the Kongling high-grade metamorphic terrain are dated by the in situ SHRIMP U-Pb method. The results show that the trondhjemitic magma emplaced at 2947-2903 Ma. Concordant age of as old as 3.3 Ga is present in the detrital zircons from the clastic metasedimentary rocks. Together with the depleted mantle Nd model age (TDM =3.2-3.3 Ga) of the clastic metasedimentary rocks, this documents the presence of Paleoarchean continental crust in the Yangtze craton.

大桦背花岗岩体位于内蒙古乌拉山地区,东距哈达门沟大型钾长石—石英金矿床约5km。前人对该岩体曾做过不少同位素年代学研究,所得结果相差较大,但是多数研究者认为大桦背岩体与区内金矿化具有成因联系。本文采用先进的高灵敏、高分辨率的离子探针(SHRIMP)对大桦背岩体进行了锆石U-Ph定点定年研究。结果表明,大桦背岩体的形成年龄为353±7Ma,应为海西旋回早期产物。此年龄比已得到的乌拉山金矿区成矿年龄大至少70Ma,因而推测大桦背岩体与金矿化之间不存在直接的成因联系。

哈达门沟大型钾长石 -石英脉型金矿床位于华北地台北缘西段的乌拉山地区。矿区西部的大桦背花岗岩和矿区内的伟晶岩脉与金矿化均具有较为密切的空间关系 ,这导致不少研究者认为哈达门沟金矿床与大桦背岩体或伟晶岩之间也具有时间和成因联系。通过采用先进的高灵敏的高分辨率的离子探针 (SHRIMP)对大桦背岩体、伟晶岩脉和钾长石化蚀变岩进行的锆石 U- Pb定点定年研究表明 :伟晶岩脉形成于 (1836± 5)× 10 6a,属吕梁旋回 ;大桦背岩体形成于 (353± 7)× 10 6a,应为海西旋回早期产物 ;金矿化年龄小于或等于 (132± 2 )× 10 6a,应为燕山晚期。这些年龄结果说明 ,本区金矿化比大桦背岩体晚至少 2 2 0× 10 6a,这排除了金矿化与大桦背岩体和伟晶岩脉之间有任何成因联系的可能性。蚀变岩的年龄还证明 ,虽然乌拉山和胶东地区金矿床的围岩和年龄不同 ,但两地区的金矿化却几乎同时发生。此外 ,大桦背岩体的形成年龄与华北地块和蒙古古陆块碰撞作用发生的时间基本一致 ,因此大桦背岩体的 SHRIMP年龄为这一碰撞作用提供了可靠的年代学证据。
