This study deals with the analysis of dynamic mechanical,thermal and flammability properties of treated and untreated pineapple leaf fiber(PALF)and kenaf fiber(KF)phenolic *** indicated that storage modulus was decreased for all composites with increases in temperature and pattern of slopes for all composites,having almost the same values of E′at glass transition temperature(Tg).The peak of the loss modulus of pure phenolic composites was shown to be much *** the addition of kenaf/PALF,peaks were higher and shifted towards a high *** Tan delta peak height was low for pure phenolic composites and maximum for 60%PALF phenolic ***-Cole analysis was carried out to understand the phase behavior of the composite *** analysis(TGA)results indicated that pure phenolic composites have better thermal stability than PALF and kenaf phenolic *** and horizontal UL-94 tests were conducted and showed pure phenolic resin is highly fire *** overall results showed that treated KF composites enhanced the dynamic mechanical and thermal properties among all PALF/KF composites.

Rapid Cu diffusion is one of the main causes of electromigration（Em） failure in lead-free solder *** this study, an effort has been made to investigate the detrimental effects of Em on microstructure and mechanical performance of solder joint by introducing Co nanoparticles（NP） doped flux at the interface between SAC305 solder and copper substrate. Em tests were conducted on un-doped SAC305 and Co-doped SAC305 solder joints for different time intervals, with the maximum duration of 1128 h. A DC current was applied to the both types of solder joints to achieve a current density of 1 × 104A/cm2. Em tests were performed in an oil bath maintained at a constant temperature of 80 °C. It is found that Codoped flux significantly reduced the formation of cracks and voids at the cathode interface. Co atoms entered into the lattice of Cu6Sn5 leading to the formation of（Cu, Co）6Sn5. This thermodynamically stabilized the interfacial intermetallic（ImC） layers both at the anode and cathode sides and suppressed the change in their thickness. The average anodic growth rate of（Cu, Co）6Sn5 interfacial ImC in the doped sample was about one order of magnitude lower compared with that of Cu6Sn5 in the un-doped ***-NP also improved the tensile strength considerably before and after Em. The report suggests that the reliability of solder joint during Em can be improved by using Co-NP doped flux.

Absorbed dose estimations of ^(131)I for critical organs using the GEANT4 monte Carlo simulation code

The aim of this study is to compare the absorbed doses of critical organs of 131I using the mIRD （medical Internal Radiation Dose） with the corresponding predictions made by GEANT4 simulations. S- values （mean absorbed dose rate per unit activity） and energy deposition per decay for critical organs of 131I for various ages, using standard cylindrical phantom comprising water and ICRP soft-tissue material, have also been estimated. In this study the effect of volume reduction of thyroid, during radiation therapy, on the calculation of absorbed dose is also being estimated using GEANT4. Photon specific energy deposition in the other organs of the neck, due to 131I decay in the thyroid organ, has also been estimated. The maximum relative difference of mIRD with the GEANT4 simulated results is 5.64% for an adult＇s critical organs of 131I. Excellent agreement was found between the results of water and ICRP soft tissue using the cylindrical model. S-values are tabulated for critical organs of 131I, using 1, 5, 10, 15 and 18 years （adults） individuals. S-values for a cylindrical thyroid of different sizes, having 3.07% relative differences of GEANT4 with Siegel ＆ Stabin results. Comparison of the experimentally measured values at 0.5 and 1 m away from neck of the ionization chamber with GEANT4 based monte Carlo simulations results show good agreement. This study shows that GEANT4 code is an important tool for the internal dosimetry calculations.

A simulation study has been performed to quantify the effect of volume reduction on the thyroid absorbed dose per decay and to investigate the variation of energy deposition per decay due to β- and γ-activity of 131I with volume/mass of thyroid, for water, ICRP- and ICRU-soft tissue taken as thyroid material. A monte Carlo model of the thyroid, in the Geant4 radiation transport simulation toolkit was constructed to compute the β- and γ-absorbed dose in the simulated thyroid phantom for various values of its volume. The effect of the size and shape of the thyroid on energy deposition per decay has also been studied by using spherical, ellipsoidal and cylindrical models for the thyroid and varying its volume in 1-25 cm3 range. The relative differences of Geant4 results for different models with each other and mCNP results lie well below 1.870%. The maximum relative difference among the Geant4 estimated results for water with ICRP and ICRU soft tissues is not more than 0.225%. S-values for ellipsoidal, spherical and cylindrical thyroid models were estimated and the relative difference with published results lies within 3.095%. The absorbed fraction values for beta particles show a good agreement with published values within 2.105% deviation. The Geant4 based simulation results of absorbed fractions for gammas again show a good agreement with the corresponding mCNP and EGS4 results （±6.667%） but have 29.032% higher values than that of mIRD calculated values. Consistent with previous studies, the reduction of the thyroid volume is found to have a substantial effect on the absorbed dose. Geant4 simulations confirm dose dependence on the volume/mass of thyroid in agreement with mCNP and EGS4 computed values but are substantially different from mIRD8 data. Therefore, inclusion of size/mass dependence is indicated for 131I radiotherapy of the thyroid.

Different strategies of the application of nutrients are required to overcome the adverse effects of mustard （Brassica juncea L.） in response to NaCl stress. The objective of the present study was to determine if different added levels of nitrogen （N） in growth medium could alleviate the adverse effects of salt stress on photosynthetic capacity and accumulation of osmoprotectants and nutrients. 14 days mustard seedlings of salt-sensitive （cv. Chuutki） and salt-tolerant （cv. Radha） genotypes were fed with：（i） 0 mmol L^-1 NaCl ＋ 0 mg N kg^-1 sand （control）, （ii） 90 mmol L^-1 NaCl ＋ 30 mg N kg^-1 sand, （iii） 90 mmol L^-1 NaCl ＋60 mg N kg^-1 sand, （iv） 90 mmol L^-1 NaCl ＋90 mg N kg^-1 sand and （v） 90 mmol L^-1NaCl＋ 120 mg N kg^-1 sand. Under the condition of salinity stress, N application caused a significant ameliorative effect on both genotypes with respect to growth attributes [fresh weight （FW） and dry weight （DW）] and physio-biochemical parameters [percent water content （WC）, net photosynthetic rate （PN）, stomatal conductance （gs）, total chlorophyll （Ch1）, carbonic anhydrase （CA） activity and malondialdehyde （mDA）, nitrogen （N）, potassium （K） and sodium （Na） contents, and K/Na ratio] and yield attributes （number of pods/plant, seeds/pod and seed yield/plant）. The salt-tolerant genotype exhibited maximum value for growth, physio-biochemical and yield attributes at 60 mg N kg 1 sand than that of salt-sensitive genotype. These results suggest that application of N may ameliorate most of the attributes and prove to be a physiological remedy to increase the tolerance against the ill effects of salt stress in Brassicas.

The crystal structure, electrical and optical properties of ZnSe thin films deposited on an In203 ：Sn （ITO） substrate are evaluated for their suitability as the window layer of CdTe thin film solar cells. ZnSe thin films of 80, 90, and 100 nm thickness were deposited by a physical vapor deposition method on Indium tin oxide coated glass substrates. The lattice parameters are increased to 5.834 A when the film thickness was 100 rim, which is close to that of CdS. The crystallite size is decreased with the increase of film thickness. The optical transmission analysis shows that the energy gap for the sample with the highest thickness has also increased and is very close to 2.7 eV. The photo decay is also studied as a function of ZnSe film thickness.

This article explores the most recent evidence-based information on ethnomedicinal, phytochemical and pharmacological understanding of Hygrophila auriculata for the treatment of various diseases and health conditions. Various ethnomedicinal writings suggest the use of the plant or its parts for the treatment of jaundice, oedema, gastrointestinal ailments, diarrhoea, dysentery, urinogenital disorder, gall stones, urinary calculi, kidney stone, leucorrhoea, rheumatism, tuberculosis, anaemia, body pain, constipation, skin disease, and as an aphrodisiac. The plant has been reported to contain flavonoids （apigenin, luteolin, ellagic acid, gallic acid and quercetin）, alkaloids （asteracanthine and asteracanthicine）, triterpenes （lupeol, lupenone, hentricontane and betulin）, sterols （stigmasterol and asterol）, minerals, amino acids, fatty acids, aliphatic esters and essential oils. Extracts and bioactive compounds from the plant have been found to possess antimicrobial, anthelmintic, antitermite, nephroprotective, hepatoprotective, central nervous system protective, antitumour, antidiabetic, anticataract, antioxidant, haematopoietic, diuretic, antinociceptive, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, antimotility, aphrodisiac, neuroprotection, anti- endotoxin and anti-urolithiatic activities. For this paper, we reviewed patents, clinical studies, analytical studies and marketed formulations from the earliest found examples from 1887 to the end of 2017.

Growth and Physiological Attributes of Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum mill.) Genotypes as Affected by NaCl Stress

High level of salinity adversely affects growth, productivity as well as quality of vegetable crops by reducing photosynthetic capacity, enzyme activities, and by enhanced production of reactive oxygen species (ROS). These ROS cause peroxidation of membrane lipids leading to disintegration of cell membrane with the leakage of electrolytes. All these detrimental effects ultimately contribute to the crop with reduced yield and low nutritive value. The present investigation was carried out to test salt tolerance capacity of ten genotypes of tomato on the basis of growth, physiological and biochemical characteristics. The results show that all the ten tested genotypes of tomato responded differently to 200 mm NaCl stress. Regarding growth parameters, BL-1076 gave higher values, while Queen gave the lowest values for most of the parameters (plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, shoot and root fresh weight and dry weight). Regarding physiological and biochemical parameters, BL-1076 gave higher values for the activities of carbonic anhydrase and nitrate reductase, leaf chlorophyll content, relative water content, and activities of antioxidant enzymes (superoxide dismutase, peroxidase and catalase). However, genotype Queen gave the lowest values for these parameters. On contrary, the least membrane damage (TBARS content) was registered in BL-1076, while the highest in Queen. Overall assessment of results leads to the conclusion that the genotype BL-1076 was found salt tolerant while Queen salt sensitive. The ten genotypes may be arranged on the basis of their salt tolerance capacity in decreasing order as: BL-1076 > Trust > Imperial > Tanshet star > PakmoreVF > L 26 > Plitz > Bonus F1 > Grace > Queen.
