Scanning electrochemical microscopy(SECM)and scanning vibrating electrode technique(SvET)were used to investigate the electrochemical behaviour of the top surface of the 2098-T351 alloy welded by friction stir welding(FSW).The SvET technique was efficient in identifying the cathodic and anodic weld *** welding joint(WJ),which comprises the thermomechanically affected zone(TMAZ)and the stir zone(SZ),was cathodic relative to the heated affected zone(HAZ)and the base metal(BM).The reactivities of the welding joint at the advancing side(AS)and the retreating side(RS)were analyzed and compared using SECM technique in the competition mode by monitoring the dissolved oxygen as a redox mediator in 0.005 mol L^-1 NaCl *** RS was more electrochemically active than the AS,and these results were correlated with the microstructural features of the welded alloy.

A recent case report provided a patient scenario,wherein,a 39-year-old male patient presented with occasional palpitations,headache,and *** of tumor markers did not show any abnormal ***,a computed tomography(CT)scan was undertaken,and its findings were affirmative of thymic ***,the postoperative histopathological assessment of the mass,after its resection,confirmed it as an anterior mediastinal multilocular thymic cyst(MTC),with concurrent acute upper respiratory tract infection and acute ***,this case report advocates the need for a preoperative histopathological examination with CT imaging to minimize the risk of confusing an MTC with a malignant thymic tumor.

The grid DEM(digital elevation model) generation can be from any of a number of sources:for instance,analogue to digital conversion of contour maps followed by application of the TIN model,or direct elevation point modelling via digital photogrammetry applied to airborne images or satellite ***,apart from the deployment of point-clouds from LiDAR data acquisition,the generally favoured approach refers to applications of digital *** of the most important steps in such deployment is the stereo matching process for conjugation point(pixel) establishment:very difficult in modelling any homogenous areas like water cover or forest canopied areas due to the lack of distinct spatial *** a result,application of automated procedures is sure to generate erroneous elevation *** this paper,we present and apply a method for improving the quality of stereo DEMs generated via utilization of an entropy texture *** filter was applied for extraction of homogenous areas before stereo matching so that a statistical texture filter could then be applied for removing anomalous evaluation values prior to interpolation and accuracy assessment via deployment of a spatial correlation *** exemplification,we used a stereo pair of ASTER 1B images.

We used standard isolation protocols to explore the endophytic fungal communities in three tissue types of two dominant orchids （Bulbophyllum neilgherrense and vanda testacea） of the Kaiga forest of the Western Ghats. We surface sterilized and assessed 90 segments of each orchid for the occurrence and diversity of endophytic fungal taxa. The 118 fungal isolates were obtained from root, bulb and leaves of B. neilgherrense, consisting of 17 anamorphic taxa （range, 10-15 taxa） with 1.3 fungal taxa per segment （range, 1.2-1.4 taxa）. Four taxa （Aspergillus flavus, A. niger, Penicillium sp. and morpho sp. 1） belonged to the core group （11.1%--32.2%）. The relative abundance of A. flavus and morpho sp. 1 was more than 10%. A total of 130 fungal isolates from roots, stems and leaves of v. testacea yielded 20 anamorphic taxa （range, 11-15 taxa） with 1.4 fungal taxa per segment （range, 1.4-1.5 taxa）. Aspergillusflavus, A. niger, A. ochraceus, Gliocladium viride, Penicillium sp. and morpho sp. 1 belonged to the core group. Relative abundance exceeded 10% for A. flavus, A. niger, and morpho sp. 1. The Simpson and Shannon diversity indices were higher in leaf than root or bulb/stem of both orchids. Jaccard＇s similarity coefficient was higher between root and leaf in both orchids （56.3%-60%） than between other pairs. Our study revealed that the endophytic fungal assemblage and diversity orB. neilgherrense and E testacea of Kaiga forest of the Western Ghats were relatively similar between orchids and their tissues.

Yersinia enterocolitica is a very common food-borne pathogen which causes gastrointestinal infections (yersiniosis) in humans and a wide array of animals (***,deer,pigs,and birds).Due to the increasing interest in innovative plant-based substances as common food preservatives,several essential oils and herbal extracts have been investigated deeply that resulted in the emergence of novel anti-Yersinia *** reviewed relevant work done by 53 researchers covering literature from the year 2002 to till *** species such as Origanum vulgare ,Rosmarinus officinalis ,Thymus vulgaris ,Ocimum basilicum have been extensively investigated and identified that 1,8-cineole,linalool and γ-terpinene as compounds found in the essential oils of these plants have anti-Yersinia activity active food packaging *** the same direction,some promising results have been mentioned about the herbal extracts of Murrya koenigii ,Tanacetum vulgare and Tanacetum balsamita,but further investigations are needed for their sustainable *** to hierarchical cluster analysis,we found that Lamiaceae and Lauracea as the most significant families with anti-Yersinia *** the end,we proposed new research trends in order to enhance a global knowledge about the use of natural products against *** .

The implementation of a simple power converter for a wound rotor induction generator employing a three phase diode bridge rectifier and a line commutated inverter in the rotor circuit for super synchronous speeds has been proposed. The detailed working of the system in power smoothing mode and maximum power point tracking mode is presented. The current flow in the rotor circuit is controlled （by controlling the firing angle of the line commutated inverter） for controlling the stator power in both the modes. An 8 bit PIC microcontroller has been programmed to vary the firing angle of the line commutated inverter. Experiments have been carried out on a 3- phase, 3.73 kW, 400v, 50Hz, 4-pole, 1500r/rain wound rotor induction generator and the results obtained with the generator supplying power in both the modes are furnished. The complete scheme has been modeled using MATLAB/SIMULINK blocks and a simulation study has been conducted. The experimental waveforms are compared with the simulation results and a very close agreement between them is observed.
