Strong interfacial charge transfer between hausmannite manganese oxide and alumina for efficient photocatalysis

Well crystalline manganese oxide(Mn_(3)O_(4))nanoparticles anchored on gamma alumina(γ-Al_(2)O_(3))have been successfully tailored via a proficient and cost effective chemical process as an efficient material for photo *** indicated the composite formation ofγ-Al_(2)O_(3) and hausmannite structure of Mn_(3)O_(4).SEM and TEM revealed that hetero structure of Mn_(3)O_(4)/γ-Al_(2)O_(3) exhibits an amalgam of aggregated nanoparticles and *** demonstrated the chemical states of binary *** band gap tuning has been performed withγ-Al_(2)O_(3) nanoparticles by assimilating hausmannite Mn_(3)O_(4) particles into flower like microstructure of Al_(2)O_(3).The photoluminescence spectra affirmed the enhancement in charge separation in Mn_(3)O_(4)/γ-Al_(2)O_(3) binary hybrid *** band gap becomes narrow with the increase in concentrations of Mn_(3)O_(4).The narrowing of band gap is concorded with crystalline domains of primary aggregated *** elucidate the mechanism of the photocatalytic activity linear sweep voltammetry was *** results showed that Mn_(3)O_(4)/γ-Al_(2)O_(3) nanocomposite revealed the enhancement in current density as compared to pureγ-Al_(2)O_(3) which confirmed the electron transfer from Mn_(3)O_(4) toγ-Al_(2)O_(3) through the interfacial potential gradient in conduction *** optimum concentration of 6.0%Mn_(3)O_(4)/γ-Al_(2)O_(3) for hybrid structure showed an excellent photocatalytic activity under visible light due to narrow band gap *** degree distribution of Mn_(3)O_(4) nano architects overlying onγ-Al_(2)O_(3) induces a significant synergic effect betweenγ-Al_(2)O_(3) and hausmannite phase of manganese oxide(Mn_(3)O_(4)).This strong interfacial contact betweenγ-Al_(2)O_(3) and Mn_(3)O_(4) endures the quick transfer of photo generated charge carriers across interface.

Soft Robotic Glove Controlling Using Brainwave Detection for Continuous Rehabilitation at Home

The patients with brain diseases(e.g.,Stroke and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis(ALS))are often affected by the injury of motor cortex,which causes a muscular *** this reason,they require rehabilitation with continuous physiotherapy as these diseases can be eased within the initial stages of the *** far,the popular control system for robot-assisted rehabilitation devices is only of two types which consist of passive and active ***,if there is a control system that can directly detect the motor functions,it will induce neuroplasticity to facilitate early motor *** this paper,the control system,which is a motor recovery system with the intent of rehabilitation,focuses on the hand organs and utilizes a brain-computer interface(BCI)*** final results depict that the brainwave detection for controlling pneumatic glove in real-time has an accuracy up to 82%.Moreover,the motor recovery system enables the feasibility of brainwave classification from the motor cortex with Artificial Neural Networks(ANN).The overall model performance reveals an accuracy up to 96.56%with sensitivity of 94.22%and specificity of 98.8%.Therefore,the proposed system increases the efficiency of the traditional device control system and tends to provide a better rehabilitation than the traditional physiotherapy alone.

Diabetic Retinopathy(DR)is a common complication of diabetes mellitus that causes lesions on the retina that affect *** detection of DR can lead to irreversible *** manual diagnosis process of DR retina fundus images by ophthalmologists is time consuming and ***,Classical Transfer learning models are extensively used for computer aided detection of DR;however,their maintenance costs limits detection performance ***,Quantum Transfer learning is a better option to address this problem in an optimized *** significance of Hybrid quantum transfer learning approach includes that it performs ***,our proposed methodology aims to detect DR using a hybrid quantum transfer learning *** build our model we extract the APTOS 2019 Blindness Detection dataset from Kaggle and used inception-V3 pre-trained classical neural network for feature extraction and Variational Quantum classifier for stratification and trained our model on Penny Lane default device,IBM Qiskit BasicAer device and Google Cirq Simulator *** models are built based on PyTorch machine learning *** bring about a contrast performance rate between classical and quantum *** proposed model achieves an accuracy of 93%–96%on the quantum hybrid model and 85%accuracy rate on the classical ***,quantum computing can harness quantum machine learning to do work with power and efficiency that is not possible for classical computers.

Rare earths(REs) play a key role in distorting spinel structure by creating some defects at the lattice sites and make them suitable for magnetodielectric *** the present study,the nanoferrites of CuRE0.02Fe1.98O4,where REs=Y^(3+),Yb^(3+),Gd^(3+),were prepared using one step sol-gel *** prepared samples are copper ferrite(CFO),yttrium doped copper ferrite(Y-CFO),ytterbium doped copper ferrite(Yb-CFO) and gadolinium doped copper ferrite(Gd-CFO),*** single-phase structure of all the REs doped nanoferrites was determined by X-ray diffraction(XRD) *** porosity,agglomerations and grain size of the REs doped copper ferrite were examined using field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM) *** transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)elaborates the phase formation and environmental effects on the REs doped nanoparticles(NPs).The recorded room temperature M-H loops from a vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM) elucidate the magnetic properties of the REs doped spinel *** magnetic saturation(Ms) was calculated in the range of 23.08 to 51.78 emu/*** calculated coercivity values(272.6 to 705.60 Oe) confirm the soft magnetic behavior of REs doped copper ***,the electromagnetic and dielectric properties were assessed using a Vector network analyzer(VNA) from 1 to 6 *** permeability,permittivity,dielectric tangent loss and electric modulus of the REs doped spinel ferrites illustrate that the prepared NPs may be suitable for microwave and high frequency applications.

Proximate composition and elemental analysis in soft tissues of freshwater mussels （Anodonta anatina） from the Chashma Lake, River Indus Pakistan

BACKGROUND： Aquatic invertebrates are playing an important role in assessment of the water contaminants and also serve as a major component of food chain. Freshwater mussels are considered to be the good bioindicator species of aquatic environment and widely used to determine the metals load. METHODS： Proximate composition and elemental analysis were carried out in edible （foot, mantle） and non-edible portion （gills） of freshwater mussels （Anodonta anatina） harvested from various site of Chashma Lake, River Indus Pakistan. RESULTS： The nutritional components were varied among the studied portion and muscular foot found to be the best part for consumption. Protein and fat contents were significantly higher in foot （15.90±0.88%, 1.19 ±0.26%） as compared to mantle （10.78±2.24%, 0.27±0.09%） and gills （6.44± 1.22%, 0.53 4-0.15%） respectively. For the macro minerals mantle had high concentration of Ca （46838±984 mg/kg）, Na （2706±343 mg/kg）, P （6921± 1063 mg/kg） and Mn （7207± 1046 mg/kg） as compared to foot. CONCLUSIONS： Heavy metals （Cd, Cu, Cr） concentration in edible portions were lower than the permissible limit by WHO whereas the concentration of Pb was slightly higher than the recommended value that might be the risk for the consumers. Being filter feeder gills accumulated the high concentration of all the metals and found to be the key portion for biomonitoring studies. Freshwater mussels of Chashma Lake Indus River are the rich source of protein and all the other micro and macro minerals therefore could be used as an excellent source of food.

Weak stem under shade reveals the lignin reduction behavior

Shades caused by neighboring tall plants in intercropping systems and weak sunlight are constraints in yield optimization. Shade influences many aspects of plant growth and development, leading to weak stems and susceptibility to lodging. The plant cell wall is composed of certain proteins that allow the walls to stretch out, a process called cell wall loosening. Shade affects anatomical, morphological, and physiological traits of plants, thus reducing the physical strength of the stem in crops by changing the loosening of cell walls. Flexibility of cells facilitates further modifications such as wall loosening. In addition, shade stress causes increased internode length, and reduced xylem synthesis and photosynthesis. In shaded plants, lignin deposition in vascular bundles and sclerenchyma cells of stems is decreased. Lignin is a light sensitive phenolic compound and shading decreases the transcript abundance of several phenolic compound(flavone and lignin) related genes. Shading significantly influences the metabolic activities of phenylalanine ammonia-lyase(PAL), peroxidase(POD), 4-coumarate: CoA ligase(4 CL), and cinnamyl alcohol dehydrogenase(CAD) involved in lignin biosynthesis. Furthermore, suppression of lignin biosynthesis activities by abiotic stresses causes abnormal phenotypes such as collapsed xylem, bent stems, and growth retardation. In this review, the underlying mechanisms illustrate that under shading conditions reduced lignin content results in slender, weak, and unstable stems. The objective of this review is to elaborate lignin biosynthesis and its variability under stressful environmental conditions, especially in shade stress environments. The effects of shade on stem lignin metabolism are discussed on the morphogenetic, physiological, and proteomic levels.

Antihyperglycemic effect of methanol extract of Tamarix aphylla L. Karst (Saltcedar) in streptozocin–nicotinamide induced diabetic rats

Objective: To evaluate the antihyperglycemic potential of Tamarix aphylla(T. aphylla)leaves in STZ–NIC induced diabetes in Wister Albino ***: Acute toxicity study was done to check the toxicity of T. aphylla(L. Karst)methanol extract. T. aphylla leaves extract was administered intraperitoneally(100 mg,250 mg and 400 mg/kg body weight per day) to diabetic Wister rats for 21 days. The various parameters were studied including fasting blood glucose levels, haemoglobin and glycosylated ***: The treatment groups with the extract at three dose levels expressively abridged the intensities of blood glucose and Glycosylated Haemoglobin. The earlier detected reduced level of plasma haemoglobin of the diabetic rats was raised to near normalcy with treatment of ***: The results of the current study confirm that the leaves extract of T. aphylla are nontoxic and have antidiabetic nature.

Comparative Analysis of Various Strains of Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria on the Physiology of Garlic (Allium sativum)

Garlic is a most important medicinal herb belonging to the family Liliaceae. Both its leaves and bulb are edible. The current study was based on evaluating the growth promoting potential of plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) on garlic (Allium sativum L.) growth and biochemical contents. Garlic cloves were inoculated with 3 kinds of PGPRs, Pseudomonas putida (KX574857), Pseudomonas stutzeri (Kx574858) and Bacillus cereus (ATCC14579) at 108 cells/mL prior to sowing. Under natural conditions, plants were grown in the net house. The PGPR significantly enhanced % germination, leaf and root growth and their biomass also increased the diameter of bulb and fresh and dry weight. The flavonoids, phenolics, chlorophyll, protein and sugar content were also significantly increased due to PGPR inoculation. The Pseudomonas stutzeri was found most effective for producing longer leaves with moderate sugar, high flavonoids (129%) and phenolics (263%) in bulb over control (Tap). The Pseudomonas putida exhibited a maximum increase in bulb diameter and bulb biomass with maximum phenolics and flavonoid contents.

In soil biota,higher and enduring concentration of heavy metals like cadmium(Cd)is hazardous and associated with great loss in growth,yield,and quality parameters of most of the crop ***,in-situ applications of eco-friendly stabilizing agents in the form of organic modifications have been utilized to mitigate the adverse effects of *** controlled experiment was laid down to appraise the imprints of various applied organic amendments namely poultry manure(PM),farmyard manure(FYM),and sugarcane press mud(PS)to immobilize Cd in polluted ***,phytoavailability of Cd in wheat was also accessed under an alkaline *** revealed that the addition of FYM(5–10 ton ha^(-1))in Cd-contaminated soil significantly increased germination rate,leaf chlorophyll content,plant height,spike length,biological and grain yield amongst all applied organic ***,the addition of FYM(5–10 ton ha^(-1))also reduced the phytoavailability of Cd by 73–85%in the roots,57–83%in the shoots,and 81–90%in grains of wheat ***,it is affirmed that incorporation of FYM(5–10 ton ha^(-1))performed better to enhance wheat growth and yield by remediating ***,the application of FYM(5–10 ton ha^(-1))reduced the toxicity induced by Cd to plants by declining its uptake and translocation as compared to all other applied organic amendments to immobilize Cd under sandy alkaline polluted soil.
