Background Personal genetic predisposition and early life environmental factors are important for the development of childhood *** aimed to search whether egg,milk and mite sensitizations at 0–2 years old are risk factors for asthma symptoms at 9–11 years *** A total of 210 wheezer children who had specific immunoglobulin(Ig)E in 2010–2012 were included in the study(followed by pediatric allergy).Patients were divided into non-atopic(group 1,n=157)and atopic patients[groups 2–7,n=53(5 patients were in both group 4 and group 5)]based on *** the International Study of Asthma and Allergy in Childhood questionnaire,current wheeze(CW,2nd question),exercise wheezing(EW,7th question),and dry cough(DC,8th question)were ***,parental allergies,eczema at 0–2 years,current eosinophil percentage and total IgE were *** Eczema was observed as an important risk factor[CW:odds ratio(OR)=2.83,95%confidence interval(CI)=1.54–5.23,P≤0.001;EW:OR=2.71,95%CI=1.33–5.54,P=0.006;DC:OR=3.03,95%CI=1.47–6.25,P=0.003],whereas having no atopic sensitization at 0–2-year-old(group 1)was found as a significant protective factor for asthma at 9–11 years old(CW:OR=0.32,95%CI=0.15–0.70,P=0.004;EW:OR=0.21,95%CI 0.10–0.44,P≤0.001;DC:OR=0.25,95%CI=0.10–0.59,P=0.002).Conclusion Early personal eczema is a significant risk factor for the development of asthma symptoms at 9–11 years old,whereas not having an allergic sensitization at 0–2 years old(group 1)is an important protective factor.

The effects of selected printing parameters on the fire properties of additively produced composites from neat polylactic acid(PLA)and wood/PLA filaments were *** reaction to fire of the 3D-printed specimens was tested according to the ISO 5660-1 cone calorimeter test *** results showed that the properties of the specimens when exposed to fire were significantly affected by the incorporation of wood flour into the PLA *** was also interesting that PLA specimens had much better reactions to fire than the wood/PLA *** to ignition was found to be much longer in the 3D-printed PLA *** the maximal heat release rate was a little higher in the PLA than the wood/PLA specimens,the duration of HRR was longer for the wood/PLA *** initial mass of the specimens was smaller in the wood/PLA composites,but during the radiant heat exposure the mass typically decreased slower than in the PLA specimens.

Graft versus host disease(GvHD)is the clinical condition in which bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stromal cells(MsCs)have been most frequently *** this review,we summarize the experience from clinical trials that have paved the way to *** MsC-based therapy has shown an exceptional safety profile,identifying potency assays and disease biomarkers that reliably predict the capacity of a specific MSC batch to alleviate GvHD has been *** GvHD diagnosis and staging are based solely on clinical criteria,individual patients recruited in the same clinical trial may have vastly different underlying biology,obscuring trial outcomes and making it difficult to determine the benefit of MsCs in subgroups of *** accumulating body of evidence indicates the importance of considering not only the cell product but also patient-specific biomarkers and/or immune characteristics in determining MSC responsiveness.A mode of action where intravascular MSC destruction is followed by monocyte-efferocytosis-mediated skewing of the immune repertoire in a permissive inflammatory environment would both explain why cell engraftment is irrelevant for MsC efficacy and stress the importance of biologic differences between responding and nonresponding *** recommend a combined analysis of clinical outcomes and both biomarkers of disease activity and MSC potency assays to identify patients with GvHD who are likely to benefit from MSC therapy.

In the present work,polyester composites reinforced with a newly identified Cyperus pangorei fiber(CPF)were developed by compression moulding *** effects of varying fiber content and fiber length on the mechanical properties of the Cyperus pangorei fiber reinforced polyester composites(CPFCs)such as tensile,flexural,and impact properties were *** strength of the CPFCs increased with fiber length up to 40 mm beyond which a reverse trend was *** on the test results,it was concluded that the critical fiber length and the optimum fiber weight percentage were 40 mm and 40 wt%*** maximum increase of 164%and 117%were found for the tensile and flexural strength of the composite with 40 mm fiber length and 40 wt%fiber content,*** the other hand,a 64%increase in impact strength was noticed for the optimum *** increasing contact surface between the fiber and the polyester matrix in optimum condition can restrict the probability of fiber pullout and in turn can make the composite carry more *** chemical structure of CPF was also analyzed using Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy(FTIR)*** morphological analysis of fractured samples was performed using Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM)to understand the interfacial bonding between CPFs and polyester *** optimal composite can be a suitable alternative in the field of structural applications in construction and automobile industries.

Solar air heaters are at the centre of interest owing to their widespread use for various *** the study,thermal performance analysis of a solar air heater that can be easily produced from daily waste materials is *** system has a low-cost structure with both waste material use and a simple *** proposed system is tested under different climatic conditions,and the energetic and the exergetic performance figures are obtained for the first time in *** is observed from the experimental tests that the results are stable and coherent as well as in good accordance with the similar attempts in literature with some cost reductions and performance *** performance analyses indicate that the maximum energy efficiency of the system is about 21%,whereas the exergy efficiency is 1.8%.The energetic and exergetic outputs of the system are also determined to be 27 W and 3 W,respectively,which is promising.

Single dose of intra-muscular platelet rich plasma reverses the increase in plasma iron levels in exercise-induced muscle damage:A pilot study

Background:Platelet rich plasma(PRP) therapy is widely used in enhancing the recovery of skeletal muscle from ***,the impact of intramuscular delivery of PRP on hematologic and biochemical responses has not been fully elucidated in exercise-induced muscle *** purpose of this investigation the effects of intramuscular delivery of PRP on hematologic and biochemical responses and recovery strategy muscle damage induced by high intensity muscle exercise(exercise-induced muscle damage,EIMD).Methods:Moderately active male volunteers participated in this study and were assigned to a control group(control,n = 6) and PRP administration group(PRP,n = 6).The subjects performed exercise with a load of 80% one repetition maximum(1RM) maximal voluntary contraction of the elbow flexors until point of exhaustion of the non-dominant arm was *** arms were treated with saline or autologous PRP post-24 h *** blood samples were obtained in the morning to establish a baseline value and 1–4 days post-exercise and were analyzed for serum ferritin,iron,iron binding capacity(IBC),creatinine kinase(CK),lactate dehydrogenase(LDH),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),and alanine aminotransferase(ALT).Results:The baseline levels of plasma iron,ferritin,IBC,CK,LDH,AST,and ALT were similar in both the control and PRP ***,24-h following exercise a significant increase in these parameters was observed in both groups between 1 and 4 days during the recovery ***,PRP administration decreased plasma iron levels compared to the control on the second day *** IBC increased in PRP group from Days 2 to 4 post-exercise compared to the control group whilst PRP administration had no effect on plasma ferritin,CK,AST,ALT,or ***:Acute exhaustive exercise increased muscle damage markers,including plasma iron,IBC,and ferritin levels,indicating muscle damage induced by *** administration improves inflammation by reversing th

Effects of contrast media on the hepato-pancreato-biliary system

AIM： To determine the effects of high osmolarity contrast media （HOCM） and iso-osmolar contrast media （CM） application, with or without pressure, on hepato-pancreato-biliary （HPB） system. METHODS： Sixty rats were divided into six equal groups as follows： Group i：（0.9% NaCl, control）, Group 2：（diatrizoate meglumine Na, ionic HOCM, Urographin）, Group 3：（iodixanol, iso-osmolar nonionic CM, Visipaque）; each of which was applied without pressure, whereas the animals of the remaining three groups （1p, 2p, 3p） were subjected to the same CM with pressure. We performed a duodenal puncture and introduced a catheter into the ampulla. After the catheterization, 0.2 mL CM or 0.9% NaCI was injected with or without pressure. Blood samples were taken for biochemical evaluations. The histopathological examinations of liver, common bile duct, and pancreas were performed. RESULTS： There were no significant differences between the six groups for blood amylase, alanine aminotransferases, aspartate aminotransferases, bilirubin levels （P 〉 0.05）. Alkaline phosphatase and γ glutamyl transaminase levels were higher （P 〈 0.05） in the Urographin groups （2, 2p） than the Visipaque groups （3, 3p）, or control groups （1, 1p）. Hepatocyte necrosis, portal area inflammation, and Kupffer＇s cell hyperplasia were higher （P 〈 0.05） in the study groups than the control group. However, there were no significant differences （P 〉 0.05） between HOCM （2, 2p） and iso-osmolar CM （3, 3p） groups. Bile duct proliferation and regeneration in the Urographin groups （2, 2p） were significantly higher （P 〈 0.05） than the Visipaque~ groups （3, 3p） or the control groups （1, lp）. Although CM caused minor damage to the pancreas, there were no statistically significant differences （P 〉 0.05） between the groups. Application of the CM with pressure did not cause additional damage to the HPB system. 发光二极管(LED)作为新型光源以其质量轻、体积小和耐久性好的特点被广泛应用于园艺植物的生长和光形态发生方面的研究。LED这些良好的特性使其可应用于作物生产,不仅可以适用于培养箱而且也适用于温室。在作物生产中,光照强度、光质和光周期对许多种类植物的光合作用、形态发生和光化学反应发挥作用,并且是影响温室内植物生长发育的基本因素,因此,我们主要的研究目标是探究光强和几种光周期对于植物生长的影响。本研究测量了植物培养箱中多种不同光强和光周期的光环境对叶用莴苣(Lactuca sativaL.)生长和形态建成的影响。这里把光周期和光照水平对叶用莴苣的影响分为三个部分进行研究。第一部分：将三组叶用莴苣分别置于光强为150μmol m-2s-1,100μmol m-2s-1和75μmol m-2S-1光周期同为亮12小时暗12小时的三个不同光环境中。结果显示其对株高和茎粗的影响最为显著。最好的结果出现在光强150μmolm-2s-1光周期12小时亮／12小时暗这一处理组。三种光环境对VC含量以及C02浓度也均有影响,而对叶绿素含量显示出影响。第二部分：将两组叶用莴苣分别置于150μmolm-2s-1和100μmol m-2s-1光周期同为6小时亮6小时暗,交替变换：另一处理组光强为75pμmol m-2s-1光周期为24小时常亮。结果显示,形态参数,例如株高和茎粗,在处理为光强75μmol m-22s-1光周期24小时常亮时最大。与此同时,其生化指标,例如可溶性糖和蛋白质含量也均显著增大。叶绿素a,b和类胡萝卜素含量均未受光强显著地影响。呼吸作用速率和蒸腾作用速率均显著提高,但净光合作用速率没有显著变化。第三部分：将两组叶用莴苣置于光强为150μmol m-2s-1光周期分别为3小时亮3小时暗交替和1.5小时亮1.5小时暗交替的光环境中,另一处理组置于光强为112.5μmol m-2s-1光周期1小时亮0.5小时暗交替变换的光环境中。结果显示,这三种光环境对叶用莴苣叶绿素含量有显著影响。在这三种光环境下叶用莴苣的形态建成、光合作用速率的蒸腾作用速率均较高。未发现生化指标的VC含量,蛋白质含量和可溶性糖含量有显著变化。基于以上结果,认为光强150μmol m-2s-1光周期1.5小时亮1.5小时暗交替的光环境有利于叶用莴苣的生产。

The incidence of Mirizzi syndrome in patients undergoing endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography

BACKGROUND:Mirizzi syndrome is a rare complication of cholelithiasis,characterized by the narrowing of the common hepatic duct as a result of mechanical compression and/or inflammation due to biliary calculus impacted in the infundibula of the gallbladder or in the cystic *** this study,we aimed to describe the clinical presentations,investigations,operative details,and complications of seven patients who underwent endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography and were finally diagnosed with Mirizzi syndrome in our center. METHOD:We performed a retrospective analysis of the records of 7 patients with Mirizzi syndrome who underwent endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography. RESULTS:The incidence of Mirizzi syndrome was 1.07% of 656 patients given endoscopic retrograde cholangiopan- *** was able to diagnose one *** retrograde cholangiopancreatography suggested the diagnosis in five cases and helped further in the management of these *** patients had cholecystectomy and T-tube placement,and two had cholecystectomy and *** patient with typeⅠMirizzi syndrome according to the Csendes classification successfully underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy. CONCLUSIONS:In the study,the incidence of Mirizzi syndrome was 1.07%of patients who underwent endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography. Preoperative diagnosis of Mirizzi syndrome by endoscopicretrograde cholangiopancreatography is important to prevent complications.
