Performance of cold-preserved rat liver Microorgans as the biological component of a simplified prototype model of bioartificial liver

AIM To develop a simplified bioartificial liver(BAL) device prototype, suitable to use freshly and preserved liver Microorgans(LMOs) as biological component. METHODS The system consists of 140 capillary fibers through which goat blood is pumped. The evolution of hema-tocrit, plasma and extra-fiber fluid osmolality was evaluated without any biological component, to characterize the prototype. LMOs were cut and cold stored 48 h in BG35 and Via Span~? solutions. Fresh LMOs were used as controls. After preservation, LMOs were loaded into the BAL and an ammonia overload was added. To assess LMOs viability and functionality, samples were taken to determine lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) release and ammonia detoxification capacity. RESULTS The concentrations of ammonia and glucose, and the fluids osmolalities were matched after the first hour of perfusion, showing a proper exchange between blood and the biological compartment in the minibioreactor. After 120 min of perfusion, LMOs cold preserved in BG35 and Via Span~? were able to detoxify 52.9% ± 6.5% and 53.6% ± 6.0%, respectively, of the initial ammonia overload. no significant differences were found with Controls(49.3% ± 8.8%, P ntrol LMOs, and 6.2% ± 1.7% and 14.3% ± 1.1% for BG35 and Via Span~? cold preserved LMOs, respectively(n = 6, P nCLUSIOn This prototype relied on a simple design and excellent performance. It’s a practical tool to evaluate the detoxification ability of LMOs subjected to different preservation protocols.

We developed a novel two-photon polymerization(2PP)configuration for fabrication of high-aspect three-dimensional(3D)structures,with an overall height larger than working distance of the microscope objective used for laser beam focusing into a photosensitive *** method is based on a modified optical 2PP setup,where a microscope objective(1003 high n.A.),immersion oil and cover glass can be moved together into the photosensitive material,resulting in an effective higher and wider objective working range(WOW-2PP).The proposed technique enables the fabrication of high-aspect structures with sub-micrometer process resolution.3D structures with a height of 7 mm are demonstrated,which could hardly be built with the conventional 2PP set-up due to refractive index mismatch and laser beam disturbances.

大型风电场由于风机数量众多,各台运转的风机之间的相互干扰作用会影响风机的有功输出,从而造成风电场的风能损失。风能损失将直接影响风电场投入运行后的年度发电能力、发电计划安排以及风电场的运行控制。文中提出了一种新的迭代回归计算方法,可有效分离风机的正常输出和非正常输出,从而正确估算风机的理想输出曲线,并定量计算风电场的风能损失,可服务于已并网的大型风电场。最后,结合实际数据对某风电场的风能损失进行了计算和分析。

In the present work, a treatment technique for trigeminal neuralgia (Tn) using LInAC radiosurgery is shown. The technique is based on the optimization of ten static arcs in such a way as to minimize the overlapping of the treatment fields with the brainstem. We will call this technique brainstem-optimized (BO). The results are compared with another technique described in the literature known as a virtual cone (VC). The comparison of dosimetry results that have been carried out essentially shows that the doses in the brainstem V12Gy-brainstem, D0.5cm3-brainstem and D0.035 cm3-brainstem are lower in the BO versus VC technique, and with the parameters V50% (whole brain) and V12Gy-cerebrum higher in BO versus VC. Our goal is to keep the dose to the brainstem as low as possible and, if possible, at most between 12 Gy and 15 Gy. The BO technique meets our purposes and is considered clinically acceptable at our institution.

开发还原二氧化碳生成燃料和有价值化学品的低成本、非金属半导体光催化剂,是减少二氧化碳浓度的一种有效方案.本工作通过简单的静电吸附方法成功地将黑磷量子点(BPQDs)分散在石墨相氮化碳(g-C_3n_4)载体上,成功制备了BP@g-C_3n_4复合材料,并对其在紫外-可见光激发下光催化还原CO_2的性能进行了研究.电化学表征,瞬态吸收光谱和荧光光谱数据表明BPQDs的负载提高了g-C_3n_4的载流子分离效率.在氙灯的照射下,与g-C_3n_4(CO的生成速率为2.1μmol g^(-1)h^(-1))相比,BP@g-C_3n_4复合材料光催化还原CO_2活性显著提高(当BPQDs的负载量为1 wt%时,CO的生成速率为6.54μmol g^(-1)h^(-1)).本工作发展了一种新型的可还原CO_2的非金属基光催化剂.
