Helicobacter pylori infection(Hp-I)represents a typical microbial agent intervening in the complex mechanisms of gastric homeostasis by disturbing the balance between the host gastric microbiota and mucosa-related factors,leading to inflammatory changes,dysbiosis and eventually gastric *** normal gastric microbiota shows diversity,with Proteobacteria[Helicobacter pylori(***)belongs to this family],Firmicutes,Actinobacteria,Bacteroides and Fusobacteria being the most abundant *** studies indicate that *** has inhibitory effects on the colonization of other bacteria,harboring a lower diversity of them in the *** comparing the healthy with the diseased stomach,there is a change in the composition of the gastric microbiome with increasing abundance of ***(where present)in the gastritis stage,while as the gastric carcinogenesis cascade progresses to gastric cancer,the oral and intestinal-type pathogenic microbial strains ***-I creates a premalignant environment of atrophy and intestinal metaplasia and the subsequent alteration in gastric microbiota seems to play a crucial role in gastric tumorigenesis *** *** eradication is suggested to restore gastric microbiota,at least in primary *** is more than clear that Hp-I,gastric microbiota and gastric cancer constitute a challenging tangle and the strong interaction between them makes it difficult to *** studies are considered of crucial importance to test the complex interaction on the modulation of the gastric microbiota by *** as well as on the relationships between the gastric microbiota and gastric carcinogenesis.

The Effect of n-Fertilization on Rosmarinus Officinalis L. （An Upright Variety） Yield in Central Greece

The effect of three different n-fertilization levels （nI： 625, n2：385 and n3：770 kg hal; where in case of n1 was used the 3-6-10＋3MGO＋30% OM and in cases of n2-n3 the 26-0-0 fertilizers） on fresh and dry weight of the perennial Rosmarinus officinalis （upright cultivar） was investigated during the 2nd year after establishment at the Experimental Farm of the Technological Educational Institute of Thessaly in Greece （TEI; Larissa plain） in 2015. It is well documented that the crop reaches its potential yield on the third year of cultivation and continues producing biomass for as long as eight years. Complete weather data （air temperature, radiation, air humidity, precipitation） were recorded hourly in an automatic meteorological station, which was installed to the experimental farm of TEI. Upon harvest （november 3rd 2015）, the crop reached a maximum fresh yield of 11.67 tons per hectare and dry yield of 4.3, respectively. The average fresh weight was 8.2, 8.4 and 8.9 t hal and the dry weight were 2.6, 3.1 and 3.2 t ha-1 for the n1, n2 and n3 levels, respectively. Furthermore the higher moisture content was observed in the case of n1 level （68%）. Therefore, the above data show that rosemary cultivation could be a promising alternative crop, especially in case of the consideration that average selling price of dry rosemary in Greece is 3.5 ∈ kg^-1 and the average gross income exceeds the amount of 10,000 ∈ ha^-1.

Serum Calprotectin and Prealbumin Levels among Ovarian Cancer Patients Aged 30 - 45 Years

Purpose: Serum calprotectin and prealbumin have been previously linked with ovarian cancer. However, to date, their effectiveness in the diagnosis of the disease remains uncertain. The purpose of the present study is to determine whether serum prealbumin and calprotectin correlate with the stage and type of histologic diagnosis. Materials-Methods: In the present study, we included 80 women aged 30 - 45 years that had either primary ovarian cancer (Stages 1 and 2) with elevated levels of CA-125 (n = 40) or were healthy (n = 40). Serum calprotectin and prealbumin levels were assessed using ELISA kits. Statistical analysis was performed with SPSS v.20.0 statistical software. Results: Both plasma prealbumin and calprotectin levels were significantly different in patients with ovarian cancer compared to healthy controls. Specifically, serum prealbumin levels showed a level towards decreasing as the stage of the disease advanced (21.2 (15.5 - 30.6) in healthy controls, 12.8 (6.9 - 16) for patients with stage 1 disease and 9.9 (4.0 - 15.5) for patients with stage 2 disease p p Conclusions: Both prealbumin and calprotectin seem to be useful markers for the identification of patients suffering from ovarian cancer.
