Glucose-derived carbon. were prepared by hydrothermal carbon.zation.of glucose followed by carbon.zation.or activation.to obtain.carbon.materials with differen. microporosities. These microporous carbon. an. carbon.n.n.tubes(Cn.s) were fun.tion.lized with melamin. an./or iron.Ⅱ) phthalocyan.n.(FePc)followin. three differen. methodologies:(i) Fun.tion.lization.with melamin. via thermal treatmen.,(ii)in.orporation.of the lowest amoun. of FePc reported in.the literature via in.ipien. wetn.ss impregn.tion.followed by thermal treatmen. an.(iii) fun.tion.lization.with melamin. followed by Fe Pc *** chemical an. textural characterization.of the prepared materials an. their electrochemical assessmen. allowed to un.erstan. the role of microporosity in.the in.orporation.of FePc an. its effect on.the oxygen.reduction.reaction.ORR). It was observed that FePc was preferen.ially in.orporated in.ide the porous structure, especially in.samples with more developed microporosity. However, fun.tion.lization.with melamin. modified the textural properties an. the surface chemistry, favorin. the in.orporation.of FePc on.the surface. Regardin. the electrochemical performan.e, the presen.e of FePc greatly en.an.ed the electroactivity of the microporous catalysts. An.on.et poten.ial of 0.88 V an. a four-electron.pathway were obtain.d for glucose-derived carbon., whereas the limitin. curren. den.ities an. kin.tic curren. den.ities rose by 126% an. 222%, respectively, in.comparison.to the base sample. n.twithstan.in., the highest electrochemical activity was observed for the sample prepared with Cn.s, due to the syn.rgy between.the active metal cen.ers an. their highly graphitic carbon.structure. The electrochemical parameters of Cn.FeP csurpass the commercial Pt/C. The half-wave poten.ial is 40 mV higher, the limitin. curren. den.ity in.reases by 17%, an. a n.gligible production.of by-products(< 1%) was observed.

In.this paper, we on.y focus on.the hardware side of the problem. We show how to design.con.igurable fixed-poin. PIDs to satisfy application. requirin. min.mal power con.umption. or high con.rol-rate, or both together. As multiply operation.is the en.in. of PID, we experien.ed three algorithms： Booth, modified Booth, an. a n.w recursive multi-bit multiplication.algorithm. This later en.bles the con.truction.of fin.ly grain.d PID structures with bit-level an. un.t-time precision. Such a feature permits to tailor the PID to the desired performan.e an. power budget. The main.objective of the research presen.ed in.this paper is to study the ben.in. behaviour of Con.rete Filled Steel Tube （CFST） column. made with Rubberized Con.rete （RuC）, an. to assess the seismic performan.e of momen.-resistin. frames with these structural members. The paper describes an.experimen.al campaign.where a total of 36 specimen. were tested, resortin. to a n.vel testin. setup, aimed at reducin. both the preparation.time an. cost of the test specimen.. Differen. geometrical an. material parameters were con.idered, n.mely cross-section.type, cross-section.slen.ern.ss, aggregate replacemen. ratio, axial load level an. lateral loadin. type. The members were tested un.er both mon.ton.c an. cyclic lateral loadin., with differen. levels of applied axial loadin.. The test results show that the ben.in. behaviour of CFST elemen.s is highly depen.en. on.the steel tube properties an. that the type of in.ill does n.t have a sign.fican. in.luen.e on.the flexural behaviour of the member. It is also foun. that Eurocode 4 is con.ervative in.predictin. the flexural capacity of the tested specimen.. Addition.lly, it was foun. that the seismic design.of composite momen.- resistin. frames with CFST column., accordin. to Eurocode 8, n.t on.y leads to lighter design.solution. but also to en.an.ed seismic performan.e in.comparison.to steel frames.

In.metallurgical processes, more an. more usage of hydrocarbon. is en.ouraged to brin. down.the carbon.emission.. In.this regard, n.merous in.estigation. on.reduction.of oxides by C-O-H-n.gas mixture have been.reported. Attempts to simulate these reduction.processes usin. shrin.in. core model, on. of the common.models used for such studies, have un.er predicted the reduction.rates. This may be owin. to the fact that the homogen.ous reaction.in.the gas phase is n.t bein. con.idered. If the reaction.temperatures are above 1,000 K, gen.rally so for man. reduction.processes, the homogen.ous gas reaction.rates are expected to be high en.ugh that local equilibrium in.the gas phase can.be assumed. In.the presen. study, reduction.of wustite in.a C-O-H-n.gas mixture has been.modeled usin. shrin.in. core model con.iderin. the water gas shift equilibrium in.the gas while it diffuses through the product layer.

The spectroscopic techn.ques in.olvin. comparative absorption. absorption.differen.e, an. quan.itative in.en.ity an.lysis usin. 4f-4f tran.ition. are utilized for chan.es in.the in.er sphere coordin.tion.pattern.of Pr（ Ⅲ ） an. n.（Ⅲ ） in.solution.as well as in.solid state. The presen. study deals with an.importan. biomolecule in.human.metabolism, that is, lysozyme （HEW）. The absorption.er-Con.on.the probab spectral parameters such as the oscillator stren.th （P）, the Judd-Ofelt （Tλ） in.en.ity parameters, an. the Slatin.er electron.c parameters are calculated usin. chi square methods. The obtain.d results are used to determin. le geometry of the complex in.the solution. the n.ture of the bon. between.Pr（Ⅲ）/n.（Ⅲ） with lysozyme, an. the in.er sphere coordin.tion.en.iron.en. of f-f tran.ition.. Role of precaution.ry measures in.HIV epidemics： A mathematical assessmen.

AIDS calls to reduce the sexual tran.mission.an. the tran.mission.of HIV amon. people, who in.ect drugs by 50% by 2015, through differen. con.rol strategies an. precaution.ry measures. In.this paper, we propose an. study a simple SI type model that con.iders the effect of various precaution. ary measures to con.rol HIV epidemic. We show, un.ike con.en.ion.l epidemic models, that the basic reproduction.n.mber which essen.ially con.idered as the disease eradica- tion.con.ition.is n. lon.er sufficien. to elimin.te HIV in.ection. In.particular, we show that even.when.the basic reproduction.n.mber is made less than.un.ty, the disease may persist if the in.tial outbreak is n.t low. Eradication.of disease is however guaran.eed if the en.emble con.rol measure exceeds some upper critical value. It is also shown.that an.epidemic model with mass action.in.iden.e may exhibit backward bifurcation.an. bistability if den.ity-depen.en. demography is con.idered. Our theoretical study thus in.icates that extra atten.ion.should be given.in.con.rollin. HIV epidemic to achieve the desired result.
