BACKGROUnD: The role of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) in the management of acute pancreatitis has evolved over years since its introduction in 1968. Its importance in diagnosing the etiology of pancreatitis has steadily declined with the advent of less invasive diagnostic tools. The therapeutic implications of ERCP in acute pancreatitis are many fold and are directed towards management of known etiological factors or its related complications. This article highlights the current status of ERCP in acute pancreatitis. DATA SOURCES: An English literature search using PubMed database was conducted on ERCP in acute pancreatitis, the etiologies and complications of pancreatitis amenable to endotherapy and other related subjects, which were reviewed. RESULTS: ERCP serves as a primary therapeutic modality for management of biliary pancreatitis in specific situations, pancreatitis due to microlithiasis, specific types of sphincter of Oddi dysfunction, pancreas divisum, ascariasis and malignancy. In recurrent acute pancreatitis and smoldering pancreatitis it has a definite therapeutic utility. Complications of acute pancreatitis including pancreatic-duct disruptions or leaks, benign pancreatic-fluid collections and pancreatic necrosis can be beneficially dealt with. Intraductal ultrasound and pancreatoscopy during ERCP are useful in detecting pancreatic malignancy. COnCLUSIOnS: The role of ERCP in acute pancreatitis is predominantly therapeutic and occasionally diagnostic. Its role in the management continues to evolve and advanced invasive procedures should be undertaken only in centers dedicated to pancreatic care.

Insulin resistance(IR)is associated with several metabolic disorders,including type 2 diabetes(T2D).The development of IR in insulin target tissues involves genetic and acquired *** at genetic risk for T2D tend to develop IR several years before glucose *** rodent models for both IR and T2D are being used to study the disease pathogenesis;however,these models cannot recapitulate all the aspects of this complex disorder as seen in each *** pluripotent stem cells(hPSCs)can overcome the hurdles faced with the classical mouse models for studying *** induced pluripotent stem cells(hiPSCs)can be generated from the somatic cells of the patients without the need to destroy a human ***,patient-specific hiPSCs can generate cells genetically identical to IR individuals,which can help in distinguishing between genetic and acquired defects in insulin *** the technologies of genome editing and hiPSCs may provide important information about the genetic factors underlying the development of different forms of *** studies are required to fill the gaps in understanding the pathogenesis of IR and *** this review,we summarize the factors involved in the development of IR in the insulin-target tissues leading to ***,we highlight the use of hPSCs to understand the mechanisms underlying the development of IR.

Transient Evolution of Inter Vessel Gap Pressure Due to Relative Thermal Expansion Between Two Vessels

In a typical liquid metal cooled fast breeder reactor (LMFBR), a cylindrical sodium filled main vessel, which carries the internals such as reactor core, pumps, intermediate heat exchangers etc. is surrounded by another vessel called safety vessel. The inter vessel gap is filled with nitrogen. During a thermal transient in the pool sodium, because of the relative delay involved in the thermal diffusion between MV and SV, they are subjected to relative thermal expansion or contraction between them. This in turn results in pressurisation and depressurisation of inter vessel gap nitrogen respectively. In order to obtain the external pressurization for the buckling design of MV, transient thermal models for obtaining the evolutions of MV, SV and inter gap nitrogen temperatures and hence their relative thermal expansion and inter vessel gap pressure have been developed. This paper gives the details of the mathematical model, assumptions made in the calculation and the results of the analysis.

We investigated the anti-nociceptive effect of Excoecorio ogollocho （***） against chemically and thermally induced nociception, Albino mice received a dose of 10, 15, 20, or 25 mg/kg of alkaline chloroform fraction （Alk-CF） of *** by oral administration. Compared with controls, AIk-CF decreased the writhing numbers （P〈0.01） in a dose dependent manner. Further we determined that, AIk-CF contained, a potent compared to control, also potent anti-nociceptive agent that acted via opioid receptors and using HPLC, identified this compound as Rutin. Docking simulation demonstrated that Rutin interacted strongly with cyclooxygenase, forming a number of specific hydrogen bonds. In conclusion we have identified peripheral and central anti-nociceptive activities of *** that involve opioid receptor, and in which the active compound is Rutin.

In 1999,Kim and Kwak asked one question that "Is a ring R 2-primal if OP■P for each P ∈ mSpec(R)?".In this paper,we prove that if O P has the IFP for each P ∈ mSpec(n),then OP■P for each P ∈ mSpec(n) if and only if n is a 2-primal near-ring and also we give characterization of 2-primal near-rings by using its minimal 0-prime ideals.
