The operation of biomass treatment devices such as ga.ifiers is based on the control of key parameters that play an important role in product formation. These include: temperature, excess oxygen, relative humidity and biomass composition. This work focuses on excess oxygen and temperature. Unfortunately, flue gas oxygen analyzers are expensive and not accessible to small industries. However, the equivalence ratio is linked to excess oxygen and has the advantage of not depending on biomass composition. This study therefore focuses on the design and development of a device for controlling this equivalence ratio by measuring oxygen concentration using a self-propelled Lambda probe, and a system for monitoring this equivalence ratio using an Arduino Uno 3 microcontroller. The temperature is recorded with an accuracy of ±1.5°C. For a heating time of 10 minutes, the response time to temperature change is around 3 seconds, which is sufficient for the device to function properly. This simple device is an efficient and cost-effective means of checking the equivalence ratio.

为揭示不同配比农业废物堆肥过程中阴阳离子和大分子对植物毒性的影响机理,开展了以鸡粪和猪粪为主料,稻草秸秆为辅料的条垛堆肥试验,设置的试验处理包括:等质量的鸡粪+稻草秸秆+包菜(1∶1∶1)处理(T1)、鸡粪+稻草秸秆(1∶1)处理(T2)、大量猪粪+少量稻草秸秆(85∶15)处理(T3).测定了各处理的堆温、堆肥的水溶性无机阴阳离子和有机大分子变化,以及对大白菜(Brassicarapa L.)和水堇(Lepidium sativum.L.)种子发芽指数(GerminationIndex,GI)等指标变化的影响.试验结果表明,T3处理堆肥的高温(>55℃)持续期最长,杀灭病原微生物和杂草种子的能力最好,且其堆肥的Cl-、SO_(4)^(2-)、K^(+)、Na^(+)、Ca^(2+)和Mg^(2+)浓度最低;T2处理堆肥的NH_(4)^(+)浓度最低.T1和T2处理堆肥过程中堆肥的脂肪烃可转化为稳定的芳香烃.T3处理堆肥对大白菜和水堇的种子发芽指数大于80%.堆肥中抑制种子发芽的阴阳离子及大分子浓度分别为:Ca^(2+)浓度>0.98 mmol·L^(-1),Mg^(2+)浓度>0.92 mmol·L^(-1),NH_(4)^(+)浓度均>5.75 mmol·L^(-1),芳香C/多糖比值>0.33,羧基C/多糖比值>0.30.堆肥中脂肪族大分子增加、多糖类大分子减少可抑制种子发芽.综上所述,猪粪与稻草秸秆的质量配比为85∶15、初始C/N比为25、初始水分含量为60%、堆肥期周为35 d是条垛式堆肥处理猪粪和稻草秸秆的最佳工艺参数.大白菜比水堇种子更能准确反映农业废物堆肥的植物毒性.本研究可为优化不同畜禽粪便与农作物秸秆的条垛堆肥工艺参数、减少土地利用的风险提供重要的决策支持.

为揭示不同比例作物秸秆和蔬菜尾菜堆肥过程中种子毒性变化及其影响机理,开展了为期55 d的以玉米(Zea mays L.)秸秆为辅料,绿花菜(Brassica oleracea *** L.)尾菜为主料的工厂化条垛堆肥,分别设置加入高(湿重比4∶12)和低(湿重比1∶12)比例秸秆与尾菜的堆肥处理.测定了不同时期堆肥pH、电导率(EC)、可溶性有机碳(DOC)、硝氮(NO;-N)、氨氮(NH_(4)^(+)-N)、碳氮比(C/N)、大白菜种子(Brassica rapa L.)的发芽指数(Germination Index,GI)、相对生长指数(Relative Growth Index,RGI)和α-淀粉酶、蛋白酶、脂肪酶的变化.结果表明,高比例秸秆堆肥处理的高温(>55℃)持续期显著高于低比例处理.堆肥结束时两个处理的堆肥均呈碱性,且EC、DOC、NH_(4)^(+)-N和NO_(3)^(-)-N含量均降低,C/N呈先升后降的趋势.高比例秸秆堆肥处理种子α-淀粉酶和脂肪酶活性均高于低比例处理,但其蛋白酶活性则相反.低比例处理堆肥的GI和RGI显著高于高比例处理.堆肥的EC、DOC、NH_(4)^(+)-N含量与种子α-淀粉酶活呈显著正相关,且与GI和RGI呈负相关.高比例秸秆尾菜堆肥可提高种子脂肪酶活.本研究可为作物秸秆与尾菜工厂化条垛堆肥工艺参数优化及土地利用提供重要理论依据和决策支持.

Objective: To investigate serologically the presence of avian influenza virus(AIV) in backyard chickens from Mandlhakazi district, Southern ***: A total of 439 sera samples from unvaccinated and apparently healthy backyard chickens from 4 villages(Chidenguele, Macuacua. Chizavane, and Nwadjahane) were tested for the presence of AIV antibodies through commercial enzyme-linked immunoabsorbent assay(ELISA) kit used according to manufacturer ***: Anti-AIV antibodies were detected in all villages surveyed. The overall seroprevalence obtained was 32.6%(95% CI 28.2%-37.0%). The highest prevalence of 51.3%(95% CI 42.3%-60.2%) was recorded in Macuacua village, while the lowest prevalence of 13.0%(95% CI 6.2%-19.9%) was found in Chizavane village. The results of logistic regression analyses suggested that chicken being located in Chizavane and Macuacua villages were more unlikely for getting the virus exposure(P<0.05).Conclusions: Our findings suggested that AIV is widespread within backyard chickens in the studied villages. Further research is needed to identify the circulating virus genotypes and determine the potential role of backyard chickens in the zoonotic transmission of AIV in Mozambique.

BACKGROUND We report a case of post-coronavirus disease(COVID)immune hepatitis occurring in a young male with no pre-existing *** SUMMARY A previously healthy 21-year-old male patient was admitted to our hospital with mild *** the course of in-hospital isolation and monitoring,he developed an alanine aminotransferase(ALT)and aspartate aminotransferase(AST)increase,with the enzymes peaking at day 24(ALT 15 times the upper normal limit),with preserved liver *** liver enzyme increase occurred 20 d after the complete clinical remission of COVID-19,and ALT dynamics paralleled the increase in total antibodies against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2).The case was interpreted as post-COVID immune hepatitis,with extensive laboratory investigations excluding other potential *** hepatocytolysis remitted 20 d after the peak ALT,without further intervention,with complete recovery,but the total anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies continued to increase the next 5 mo following the acute *** Close attention should also be paid to young patients with mild forms of disease,and a high index of suspicion should be maintained for post-COVID complications.

Chrysanthellum americanum (L.) Vatke is a medicinal plant used by the traditional healers to treat epilepsy and associated memory impairment. This work aims at evaluating the anticonvulsant effects of Chrysanthellum americanum aqueous extract in mice pilocarpine model of epilepsy and associated memory loss. Mice were administered orally Chrysanthellum americanum aqueous extract (27.69, 69.22, 138.45, 276.9 mg/kg, prepared from the whole part) for test groups, intraperitoneally 300 mg/kg sodium valproate for the positive control group or orally 10 mL/kg distilled water for the negative control group, respectively, during a period of seven consecutive days. On the first day, temporal lobe epilepsy was induced by intraperitoneal injection of 360 mg/kg pilocarpine one hour after the administration of different treatment to mice, and the occurrence of status epilepticus was evaluated. On the second day, the anticonvulsant property was measured after the intraperitoneal injection of a sub-convulsive dose of picrotoxin (1 mg/kg). On the seventh day, the anti-amnesic properties of the extract were evaluated in the epileptic mice using the T-maze and open field paradigms. The results show that Chrysanthellum americanum extract significantly (p Chrysanthellum americanum (276.9 mg/kg) likewise sodium valproate (300 mg/kg) significantly (p Chrysanthellum americanum aqueous extract has anticonvulsant effects against pilocarpine induced-epileptic seizures and memory impairment. These properties could be mediated by the amelioration of antioxidant defense system and cholinergic neurotransmission in epileptic mice, which could partly justify the use of Chrysanthellum americanum in the traditional medicine for the treatment of epilepsy.

Objective:To carry out a phyto-chemical characterization of essential oil from Ocimum basilicum L.(***) harvested in DR Congo and to assess the antioxidant potential of crude extracts with respect to the polarity for comparison ***:The phyto-chemical characterization of essential oil produced by hydrodistillation was performed by coupled gas chromatography-mass spectrometer analysis and the antioxidant potential evaluation by in vitro 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl free radical scavenging activity ***:A previously weighed amount of fresh leaves of *** produced 0.65%of essential oil that led to the identification of a set of 84.44%out of 99.98%as major compounds(> 1.5%).The chemo-type of this essential oil was linalool-methyl *** components of oil were characterized by oxygenated aromatic hydrocarbons(46.00%) and oxygenated monoterpenes(26.75%).With respect to the amount of components,methyl chavicol also known as estragole(35.72%) constituted the very large quantity afterward linalool(21.25%) and then epi-α-cadinol(8.02%),α-bergamotene(6.56%),eugenol(4.60%),1,8-cineole(4.04%),germacrene D(2.06%),thymol(1.64%),and(E)-citral(1.55%),*** oil exhibited antioxidant potential and IC_(50) =(1.180 ± 0.015) mg/***-polar crude extracts yields were low compared to the one of polar *** methanol and ethyl acetate had considerably ma.ifested antioxidant potential with IC_(50) values equal to(0.025 ± 0.013) mg/mL and(0.085 ± 0.012) mg/mL,*** concerns to IC50 values,essential oil was less active than methanol and ethyl acetate *** methanol crude extract exhibited the highest ***-polar extracts showed insignificant radical scavenging ability that did not allow assessing IC50 *** results highlighted the occurrence of antioxidant potential compounds in polar ***:Essential oil and crude extracts of *** growing in DR Congo can be advocated as nat

Environmental Impacts of Waste Management Deficiencies and Health Issues: A Case Study in the City of Kaya, Burkina Faso

In this study, a stra.ified survey sampling was used in order to broaden our knowledge on the management systems of household waste in the town of Kaya/Burkina Faso. Population study consists of households of the town of Kaya. The sample size was fist determined using the sample size calculation formula. Then four (04) strata comprising the town of Kaya sectors that have a Health and Social Promotion Center (HSPC) have been considered. A random household selection method, used inside each stratum and a number of 468 households representative of the town’s population, was surveyed. We have addressed all solid and liquid waste management strategies in those four strata. For each stratum, waste disposal infrastructure, its management in the households and its impacts on the town’s environment and populations’ health were screened. Data collected are presented through descriptive statistics in mean of tables and graphs. Frequently reported diseases in the four HSPCs have been correlated with waste management and disposal methods in the town. Poor handling, evacuation and disposal of waste have numerous negatives impacts on the city’s environment such as proliferation of mosquitoes and flies, bad odors, visual pollution. These negatives impacts on the environment in turn have negatives impacts on the health of the city residents. Malaria appears the most encountered disease followed by Acute Respiratory Infection and Diarrhea. Suggestions aimed at improving waste management and the reduction of its deficiencies impacts on the health of the population has been made.

目的探讨对脑性瘫痪(脑瘫)儿童给予双乳突法头部低频电刺激对其运动功能及脑血流的影响。方法收集来我院进行治疗的脑瘫患儿106例,按照随机数字表法进行分组,康复对照组53例,给予常规治疗,电刺激治疗组53例,给予常规治疗+双乳突法头部低频电刺激;正常对照组为同期来我院进行健康体检的健康儿童50例。结果与康复对照组治疗后比较,电刺激治疗组患者的治疗显效率及其有效率明显较高(P<0.05),电刺激治疗组患儿具有显著较高的GMFM评分(P<0.05)。与电刺激治疗组治疗前比较,治疗后ACA、MCA及PCA的平均血流速度均显著增加(P<0.05)。结论对脑性瘫痪(脑瘫)儿童给予双乳突法头部低频电刺激可以使其运动功能得到明显的改善,疗效得到显著增强。
