Effect of cryogenic cooling in milling process of AISI 304 stainless steel

Prostate cancer upgrading or downgrading of biopsy Gleason scores at radical prostatectomy:prediction of"regression to the mean"using routine clinical features with correlating biochemical relapse rates

Reducing the production costs of clean energy carriers such as hydrogen through scalable water electrolysis is a potential solution for advancing the hydrogen *** the various material candidates,our group demonstrated transition-metal-based materials with tunable electronic characteristics,various phases,and ***,electrochemical water oxidation using Cu_(2)Se-V_(2)O_(5) as a non-precious metallic electrocatalyst via a hydrothermal approach is *** water-splitting performance of all the fabricated electrocatalysts was evaluated after direct growth on a stainless-steel *** electrochemically tuned Cu_(2)Se-V_(2)O_(5) catalyst exhibited a reduced overpotential of 128 mV and provided a reduced Tafel slope of 57 mV·dec^(−1) to meet the maximum current density of 250 mA·cm^(−2).The optimized strategy for interfacial coupling of the fabricated Cu_(2)Se-V_(2)O_(5) catalyst resulted in a porous structure with accessible active sites,which enabled adsorption of the intermediates and afforded an effective charge transfer rate for promoting the oxygen evolution ***,the combined effect of the catalyst components provided long-term stability for over 110 h in an alkaline solution,which makes the catalyst promising for large-scale practical *** aforementioned advantages of the composite catalyst overcome the limitations of low conductivity,agglomeration,and poor stability of the pure catalysts(Cu2Se and V2O5).

Assessment of the correlation between serum prolidase and alpha-fetoprotein levels in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma

AIM: To determine the predictive value of increased prolidase activity that reflects increased collagen turnover in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).METHODS: Sixty-eight patients with HCC(mean age of 69.1 ± 10.1), 31 cirrhosis patients(mean age of59.3 ± 6.3) and 33 healthy volunteers(mean age of51.4 ± 12.6) were enrolled in this study. Univariate and multivariate analysis were used to evaluate the association of serum α-fetoprotein(AFP) values with HCC clinicopathological features, such as tumor size,number and presence of vascular and macrovascular invasion. The patients with HCC were divided into groups according to tumor size, number and presence of vascular invasion(diameters; ≤ 3 cm, 3-5 cmand ≥ 5 cm, number; 1, 2 and ≥ 3, macrovascular invasion; yes/no). Barcelona-clinic liver cancer(BCLC)criteria were used to stage HCC patients. Serum samples for measurement of prolidase and alphafetoprotein levels were kept at-80 ℃ until *** levels were measured spectrophotometrically and AFP concentrations were determined by a chemiluminescence immunometric commercial diagnostic ***: In patients with HCC, prolidase and AFP values were evaluated according to tumor size, number,presence of macrovascular invasion and BCLC staging classification. Prolidase values were significantly higher in patients with HCC compared with controls(P <0.001). Prolidase levels were significantly associated with tumor size and number(P < 0.001, P = 0.002,respectively). Prolidase levels also differed in patients in terms of BCLC staging classification(P < 0.001).Furthermore the prolidase levels in HCC patients showed a significant difference compared with patients with cirrhosis(P < 0.001). In HCC patients grouped according to tumor size, number and BCLC staging classification, AFP values differed separately(P = 0.032,P = 0.038, P = 0.015, respectively). Ocular penetration of topically applied 1% tigecycline in a rabbit model

AIM：To evaluate ocular penetration of topically applied 1% ***：Forty-two New Zealand White rabbits were divided into 3 groups. A 50 μL drop of 1% tigecycline was administered in group 1. In groups 2 and 3, the drop was administered every 15 min for 60min（keratitis protocol）. Aqueous humor samples in groups 1 and 2 were collected under general anesthesia at 15, 30, 45, 60, 120, and 180 min after the last drop. All animals in group 3 were euthanatized. Cornea, vitreous and blood samples were collected 60 and 120 min after the last drop. Tigecycline concentrations were measured using high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry（LC-MS/MS）.RESULTS：The peak aqueous humor tigecycline concentration [mean 0.73±0.14 mg/L（SD） and 2.41±0.14 mg/L, respectively] occurred 45 min after topical drug application in groups 1 and 2. Group 3 mean values in the cornea, and vitreous, were 3.27±0.50 μg/g, and 0.17±0.10 mg/L at 60 min and 3.17±0.77 μg/g and 0.20±0.07 mg/L at 120 min, respectively. Tigecycline serum concentrations were ***：Tigecycline levels in the aqueous humor in groups 1 and 2, and in the cornea in group 3 exceeded the minimum inhibitory concentrations of most grampositive organisms that cause bacterial keratitis and endophthalmitis.

内生真菌是指其部分或全部生命周期生活于健康植物组织细胞内或细胞外的真菌。单胺氧化酶是抗抑郁药(抑制MAO-A亚型)和抗帕金森(抑制MAO-B亚型)的药物靶点。乙酰胆碱酶是催化乙酰胆碱分解和一些其他胆碱酯类作为神经递质的酶,这种酶抑制剂用于治疗阿尔茨海默病。本论文从5种药用植物中分离纯化了35株内生真菌。其中从马蔺(Iris alctea)中分离得到11株,圆锥山蚂蟥(Desmodium elegans)中得到7株,丹参(Salvia miltiorrhiza)中得到6株,马先蒿(Pedicularis resupinata)中得到6株,两似蟹甲草(Parasenecio ambiguus)中得到5株。对35株菌进行发酵,发酵液用乙酸乙酯萃取,菌丝体用甲醇提取,共得到70种粗提物。用酶标法对粗提物进行抗单胺氧化酶活性测定。结果显示,从圆锥山蚂蟥(Desmodium elegans)中得到的SMH-3菌株具有显著的抑制单胺氧化酶的活性,IC50值为16.2μg/mL。而其它菌株抗单胺氧化酶和乙酰胆碱酯酶的活性较低或者没有抗单胺氧化酶和乙酰胆碱酯酶的活性。通过现代色谱技术(制备型高效液相色谱、薄层色谱和硅胶柱色谱)对SMH-3菌株的化学成分进行分离纯化,并通过单体化合物的理化性质以及1H-NMR、13C-NMR和MS等现代波谱学手段对其结构进行了鉴定。鉴定了8个单体化合物,分别是:flufuran(1),deactylfructigenines A(2),(N-(4-hydroxymethoxy phenyl)acetamide(3),fructigenines B(4),Ergosterol(5),Ergosterol peroxide(6),Epi-aszonalenin A(7),Dibutyl phathalate(8)。通过酶标法检测化合物1(flufuran)的抗单胺氧化酶和乙酰胆碱酯酶活性。结果显示,化合物1(flufuran)具有显著的抗单胺氧化酶活性,当阳性药异丙肼的IC50值为5.7μM时化合物1的IC50值16.2μM。通过对核糖体RNA基因区ITS1-5.8S-ITS2的PDA形态和DNA序列的分析,并结合菌落形态颜色及菌丝体、分生孢子的观察,最终SMH-3鉴定为波兰青霉(Penicillium polonicum)真菌。
