t.e object.ves of t.is st.dy are t. underst.nd t.e mechanisms involved in t.e st.bilizat.on of wat.r/oil int.rfaces by polymeric nanopart.cles (NPs) (Eudragit.). Eudragit.L100 NPs of various sizes and Zet. pot.nt.als were st.died and compared at.a wat.r/cyclohexane model int.rface using a droplet.t.nsiomet.r (t.acker t.clis, Longessaigne, France). t.e progressive int.rfacial adsorpt.on of t.e NPs in t.e aqueous phase was monit.red by t.nsiomet.y. t.e model int.rface was maint.ined and observed in a drop t.nsiomet.r, analyzed via axisymmet.ic drop shape analysis (ADSA), t. det.rmine t.e int.rfacial propert.es. Given t.e direct.relat.onship bet.een t.e st.bilit. of Pickering emulsions (emulsions st.bilized by solid nanopart.cles) and t.e int.rfacial propert.es of t.ese layers, different.nanopart.cle syst.ms were compared. Specifically, Eudragit.NPs of different.sizes were examined. Moreover, t.e reduct.on of t.e Zet. pot.nt.al wit. PEG-6000 induces part.al aggregat.on of t.e NPs (referred t. as NP flocs), significant.y impact.ng t.e st.bilit. of t.e int.rfacial layer. Dynamic surface t.nsion measurement. indicat. a significant.decrease in int.rfacial t.nsion wit. Eudragit. nanopart.cles (NPs). t.is reduct.on correlat.s wit. t.e size of t.e NPs, highlight.ng t.at.t.is paramet.r does not.operat. in isolat.on. Ot.er fact.rs, such as t.e cont.ct.angle and wet.abilit. of t.e nanopart.cles, also play a crit.cal role. Not.bly, larger NPs furt.er diminished t.e int.rfacial t.nsion. t.is st.dy enhances our underst.nding of t.e st.bilit. of Pickering emulsions st.bilized by Eudragit. L100 polymeric nanopart.cles.

Background: Our st.dy aimed t. examine cardiovascular mort.lit. wit.in t.e working-age populat.on, exploring epidemiological, clinical, and paraclinical feat.res, complicat.ons, and ident.fying et.ological fact.rs linked t. mort.lit.. Met.ods: We conduct.d a descript.ve and analyt.cal ret.ospect.ve st.dy from Sept.mber 2019 t. August.2022 at.t.e General Hospit.l Idrissa POUYE in Dakar, we reviewed all t.e medical records of pat.ent. from 15 t. 60 years old who died while admit.ed in t.e cardiology depart.ent. Dat. collect.d were socioeconomic st.t.s, clinical hist.ry, t.pe of cardiovascular disaese, lengt. of hospit.lizat.on, circumst.nces and t.ming of deat.. t.e dat. were analyzed wit. R. St.dio version 2022.12.0 + 353 and Excel 2019, wit. a P-value Result.: t.e st.dy included 73 pat.ent., indicat.ng a specific mort.lit. rat. of 8.8% and a proport.onal mort.lit. of 39%. Predominant.y male (sex rat.o 1.2), t.e average age was 44. Key cardiovascular risk fact.rs ident.fied were sedent.rism (76.7%), hypert.nsion (28.8%), and smoking (21.9%). t.e leading cause for consult.t.on was dyspnea (72.6%). Not.ble findings included a majorit. of pat.ent. present.ng wit. general condit.on det.riorat.on (90%) and cardiovascular collapse upon admission (23.3%). Physical exam revealed signs of heart.failure in 63%. Echocardiography showed left.vent.icular eject.on fract.on impairment.(81%) and pulmonary hypert.nsion (78%). Immediat. causes of deat. were primarily cardiogenic shock (45.2%) and sept.c shock (37%). t.e analyt.cal st.dy indicat.s t.at.t.e dat. most.closely associat.d wit. mort.lit. were age, socio-economic level, ischemic heart.disease (p = 0.034), rheumat.c valvulopat.ies, pulmonary embolism (p = 0.034), hypert.nsion (Ht.) (p = 0.009), smoking (p = 0.011), diabet.s (p = 0.011), dyslipidemias, prolonged bedrest.(p = 0.001), morbid obesit. (p = 0.001), and COVID-19 infect.on (p = 0.017). Int.oduct.on: Acut. coronary syndromes (ACS) are a diagnost.c and t.erapeut.c emergency. Object.ve: St.dying t.e feasibilit., difficult.es and result. of coronary angioplast. in acut. coronary syndromes at.t.e Luxembourg Mot.er-Child Universit. Hospit.l in Bamako. Pat.ent. and Met.ods: Cross-sect.onal, descript.ve st.dy wit. prospect.ve recruit.ent.over 18 mont.s from Sept.mber 2020 t. February 2022. All pat.ent. aged at.least.18 years old admit.ed for SCA and having undergone PCI during t.e st.dy period were included. Result. We collect.d 249 pat.ent. for SCA, of whom 160 underwent.angioplast., eit.er an angioplast./SCA rat.o of 0.64. t.e average age of t.e pat.ent. was 59.54 ± 11.62 wit. ext.emes of 32 and 92 years. t.e age group of 45 t. 65 years was t.e most.represent.t.ve. t.e predominance was male, sex rat.o of 2.4. t.e main cardiovascular risk fact.rs were high blood pressure (58.23%) and diabet.s (45.78%). Persist.nt.St.segment.elevat.on on t.e elect.ocardiogram was present.in 71.48%. t.e t.eat.ent.t.me was more t.an 12 hours aft.r t.e first.medical cont.ct.in 95.5%. t.e approach was radial in 96.5% of cases. Coronarography was pat.ological in 91.16% of our pat.ent.. t.e lesions were t.i-t.uncular in 34.13% wit. t.e ant.rior int.r vent.icular as culprit.art.ry in 72% of cases. t.e majorit. of pat.ent. (64%) had undergone angioplast. wit. implant.t.on of an act.ve st.nt. Angioplast. was performed successfully in 98% and per procedural mort.lit. was 1.87%. Only 6.45% of ACS wit. St.elevat.on benefit.d from primary angioplast.. Conclusion: Percut.neous coronary int.rvent.on is performed rout.nely in our cent.r wit. sat.sfact.ry result.. Megaloblast.c pernicious anemia is an aut.immune disorder, considered rare in African cont.xt. t.e object.ve of t.is st.dy was t. report.four clinical cases collect.d at.t.e CHUR/OHG, and t. review t.e lit.rat.re. t.e st.dy populat.on consist.d of t.o men and t.o women. t.e clinical manifest.t.ons were mainly neurological and hemat.logical. t.e neurological signs were mainly parest.esia. One pat.ent.present.d memory problems. On t.e biological level, macrocyt.c anemia and vit.min B12 deficiency were report.d in t.o cases prior t. t.eat.ent.while t.e ot.er t.o wit.out.serological assay of vit.min B12 were put.on t.ial t.eat.ent. Ant.-int.insic fact.r ant.bodies were posit.ve in t.ree pat.ent.. t.e Schilling t.st.was not.used. Upper gast.oint.st.nal endoscopy revealed at.ophic fundic gast.it.s in all four pat.ent. who received t.eat.ent.t.rough int.amuscular inject.on of hydroxocobalamin (vit.min B12). t.e evolut.on was favorable aft.r one mont. of t.eat.ent.in all cases. t.e lit.rat.re review is dominat.d by clinical case report., t.e largest.cohort. of which are from t.e Maghreb.

In Mali, few st.dies have been conduct.d on t.e prevalence of cardiovascular risk fact.rs and diseases according t. place of residence. t.e aim of t.is st.dy was t. assess t.e prevalence of risk fact.rs and cardiovascular diseases according t. resident. in t.wn of Bougouni and it. rural area (sout.ern Mali). Met.ods: t.is was a ret.ospect.ve descript.ve st.dy from February 2019 t. March 2024. All pat.ent. who visit.d t.e “CENt.E MEDICAL DE BOUGOUNI” clinic wit. known or suspect.d heart.disease during t.e st.dy period were included. Dat. were collect.d from medical records. Incomplet. or unusable records were excluded. Dat. were processed using SPS version 22 soft.are. Result.: we included 452 pat.ent. wit. an average age of 50 ± 19 years. High blood pression has been found in 42.70% of cases, wit. higher prevalence in urban areas (47.01%) t.an in rural areas (41.50%). Diabet.s and smoking were found respect.vely 5.31% and 8.19% in our populat.on. t.e prevalence of diabet.s was higher in urban areas (5.97%) t.an rural area (5.35%). smoking prevalence was higher in rural areas (8.49%) t.an urban areas (6.72%). Alcoholism was found in 2.21% of cases wit. a lit.le difference bet.een rural area (2.24%) and urban area (2.20%). 31.63% of our pat.ent. had no cardiovascular fact.r. Dyspnea was t.e reason of consult.t.on in 5.75% of cases and at.pical precordialgia in 13.72%. Headaches and dizziness in 8.63% of cases and 21.90% of pat.ent. present.d ot.er non-specific sympt.ms. Diagnosis of idiopat.ic dilat.d cardiomyopat.y was found in 23.45% of cases wit. higher prevalence in rural areas (28.30%) t.an urban areas (13.43%). Ischaemic heart.disease account.d for 9.29% of cases wit. a higher prevalence in rural areas (10.38%) t.an in urban areas (6.71%). Post.perat.ve complicat.ons represent.import.nt.indicat.rs for t.e qualit. of surgical care. t.e object.ves of t.is work were t. st.dy post.operat.ve complicat.ons in t.e general surgery depart.ent.of t.e Cs ref of commune I in Mali, t. det.rmine t.e frequency of post.operat.ve complicat.ons, t. ident.fy t.e fact.rs of occurrence, t. describe t.e clinical aspect., diagnost.c and t.erapeut.c in order t. assess t.e addit.onal cost.linked t. post.operat.ve complicat.ons. t.is st.dy was prospect.ve, carried out.in t.e general surgery depart.ent.on 300 cases of surgical int.rvent.ons. It.covered all pat.ent. aged at.least.15 years, operat.d on and hospit.lized or not. and who present.d complicat.ons during t.e 30 days post.perat.vely. Pat.ent. under t.e age of 15 were not.included (our general surgery depart.ent.is not.a pediat.ic surgery depart.ent.. We collect.d 300 pat.ent. among whom 199 (66.33%) were men and 101 (33.66%) women, i.e. a sex rat.o = 1.9. t.e average age was 38 years wit. ext.emes of 15 and 87 years. t.e main init.al diagnoses were: acut. appendicit.s, perit.nit.s, occlusions, wall hernias, hemorrhoids, ut.rine prolapse, ut.rine myomas, ovarian cyst. and acut. cholecyst.t.s. Emergencies represent.d 43% (N = 129) of int.rvent.ons wit. 6.98% post.operat.ve complicat.ons (POC). Post.perat.ve complicat.ons were dominat.d by surgical sit. infect.ons, 75% of cases (N = 20), wall hemorrhage 5% (N = 1), t.st.cular necrosis 5% (N = 1) and t.st.cular calcificat.on 5% (N = 1), wire reject.on 5% (N = 1) and deat. 5% (N = 1). t.e management.of post.perat.ve complicat.ons was surgical in 95% and medical in 100%. t.eir occurrence ext.nded t.e hospit.l st.y by 3.65 days and increased t.e average cost.of care by 60541.85 CFA francs. t.e mort.lit. index lowered by efficient.management.of complicat.ons (IMAGE) calculat.d in relat.on t. deat.s was 95% of cases. Int.oduct.on: Exercise st.ess t.st.ng (on a t.eadmill or ergomet.r bicycle) is an import.nt.t.st.in cardiology for diagnosing myocardial ischemia. t.is t.st.in Mali is st.ll in it. beginning compared t. ot.er count.ies in t.e sub-region. t.e lack of dat. in Mali prompt.d t.is st.dy, which aimed t. evaluat. t.e indicat.ons of t.is act.vit. and it. diagnost.c cont.ibut.on t. cardiology in Mali. Mat.rials and Met.ods: t.is was a ret.ospect.ve, descript.ve st.dy. t.e st.dy was conduct.d at.t.e “t.UCAM” medical clinic in Kat. based on t.e analysis of st.ess t.st.report. bet.een January 2016 and August.2022. Result. During t.e st.dy period, we document.d 73 pat.ent. who underwent.exercise t.st.ng on a bicycle ergomet.r for suspect.d coronary heart.disease. t.e mean age of our pat.ent. was 47.5 ± 13.8 years (14 and 79 years). Males account.d for t.e majorit. (78.1%). t.e sex rat.o is 3.5. More t.an half of our pat.ent. were overweight.or obese (77.1%). Hypert.nsion and diabet.s affect.d 52.1% and 25.8% of pat.ent., respect.vely. 20.8% of pat.ent. had coronary art.ry disease. renin-angiot.nsin-aldost.rone syst.m blockers (56.8%) and bet.-blockers (51.3%). t.e main indicat.ons were chest.pain (63.0%) and ischemia det.ct.on (15.1%). A modified St.EP prot.col was used. t.e majorit. of our pat.ent. (71.2%) achieved at.least.85% of t.eir maximum t.eoret.cal heart.rat.. t.e main reason for t.e t.rminat.on of t.e st.dy was fat.gue (57.3%). t.e average durat.on was 11.3 ± 4.2 minut.s. 24.7% t.ought.t.e st.ess t.st. were posit.ve and 17.8% t.ought.t.ey were cont.oversial. Conclusion: t.is st.dy demonst.at.s t.e import.nce of st.ess t.st.ng in t.e diagnosis and t.eat.ent.of ischemic heart.disease, especially in set.ings where we have very limit.d access t. coronary angiography.

Background:Since t.e overuse of ant.biot.cs in animal product.on has led t. a select.on of ant.biot.c-resist.nt.pat.ogens t.at.affect.humans and animals as *** are t.erefore searching for novel nat.ral alt.rnat.ves t. *** t.is st.dy Lact.bacillus reut.ri and a combinat.on of reut.rin and microcin J25(RJ)were evaluat.d as promot.rs of growt. and modulat.rs of t.e cecal microbiot. and met.bolit. profiles in broiler ***-old Cobb 500 male broilers were dist.ibut.d t. 8 t.eat.ent.:negat.ve cont.ol(wit.out.ant.biot.c),posit.ve cont.ol(bacit.acin),t.ree concent.at.ons of RJ and t.ree doses of *** plus *** birds(2176,34 per pen,8 pens per t.eat.ent.were reared for 35 ***:t.e body weight.of t.e bacit.acin and 5 mmol/L reut.rin combined wit. 0.08μmol/L microcin J25(10RJ)t.eat.ent.group was significant.y higher t.an t.at.of t.e negat.ve cont.ol group(Pt.effect.on broiler *** high-t.roughput.sequencing of 16S rRNA showed clust.ring of cecal microbial operat.onal t.xonomic unit.diversit. according t. *** influence of bacit.acin and 10RJ on bact.rial communit. overall st.uct.re was *** promot.d Ruminococcaceae,Lachnospiraceae and Lact.bacillaceae,increased t.e relat.ve abundance of Faecalibact.rium and decreased t.e abundance of Bact.roides and Alist.pes,while t.e negat.ve cont.ol condit.on favored Bact.roidaceae and ***,10RJ increased t.e concent.at.on of short.chain fat.y acid in t.e cecum and changed t.e met.bolome ***:t.ese overall suggest.t.at.10RJ can promot. a host.friendly gut.environment.by changing t.e cecal microbiome and *** combinat.on of nat.ral ant.microbial agent. in t.e drinking wat.r had a posit.ve effect.on broiler growt. and may be suit.ble as an alt.rnat.ve t. ant.biot.c growt. promot.rs.

Inguinal hernia in children is a congenit.l pat.ology in children linked t. t.e persist.nce of t.e perit.neo-vaginal canal in children and t.e NüCK canal in girls;persist.ng int. adult.ood. t.is work aimed t. st.dy inguinal hernia in children in t.e general surgery depart.ent.of t.e Reference Healt. Cent.r of Commune I of t.e Bamako Dist.ict.t. det.rmine t.e frequency of inguinal hernia;describe t.e epidemiological, clinical and t.erapeut.c aspect. of inguinal hernias and in order t. evaluat. t.e cost.of t.eat.ent. t.is was a prospect.ve st.dy from April 2017 t. March 2018 during which 60 children wit. an inguinal hernia were collect.d. Inguinal hernias in children represent.d 9.23% of pat.ent. operat.d on in t.e depart.ent. t.e average age was 59.23 mont.s wit. ext.emes of one mont. and 180 mont.s and a st.ndard deviat.on of 49.23 years. t.e male sex was dominant.wit. a sex rat.o equal t. 9:1. t.e not.on of premat.rit. was found in 11.7% and was associat.d wit. a t.st.cle not.in place in 1.7% of cases. 41.7% of our pat.ent. were referred by a doct.r and 66.7% of pat.ent. present.d wit. painless, int.rmit.ent.inguino-scrot.l swelling (83.3% of cases). t.e hernia was discovered before one week of life in 50% of cases. Inguinal swelling was absent.in 11.7% but.observed int.aoperat.vely. t.e inguinal hernia was unilat.ral in 91.7% of cases and 70% of hernias were discovered by t.e parent. during pushing effort.. t.e inguinal hernia was locat.d on t.e right.in 61.7% of cases. t.e hernia swelling was soft. painless, impulsive and reducible in 78.3% of cases. t.e swelling was inguino-scrot.l in 58.3% of cases. t.e hernia was simple in 95% of pat.ent. and hernial st.angulat.on was observed in 3 cases or 5% of cases. 98.3% of pat.ent. were ASA I. t.e t.eat.ent.was carried out.openly in all our pat.ent. including closure of t.e vaginal perit.neal canal in 95% of cases under general anest.esia in 98.3% of cases. t.e morbidit. rat. was 8.4% (surgical sit. infect.on: 6.7% of ca
