This study aims to estimate the lifetime attributable cancer risk (LAR) for pediatric chest computed tomography (CT) examinations in five age groups using recently published age and region-specific conversion coefficients multiplying the widely available scanner registered dose length products (DLP) displayed on the CT console and hence calculating the Effective Dose (ED). The ED is then multiplied by the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) published risk factor for LAR. The obtained LAR values are compared with the international literature. Factors that may affect the LAR value are reported and discussed. The study included one hundred twenty five chest CT examinations for both males and females aged from less than one year to fifteen years. The patients reported data are from one single medical institution and using two CT scanners from June 2022 to December 2023. The results of this study may serve as benchmark for institutional radiation dose reference levels and risk estimation.

Electric vehicles(EVs)are becoming more popular worldwide due to environmental concerns,fuel security,and price *** performance of EVs relies on the energy stored in their batteries,which can be charged using either AC(slow)or DC(fast)***,EVs can also be used as mobile power storage devices using vehicle-to-grid(V2G)*** electronic converters(PECs)have a constructive role in EV applications,both in charging EVs and in ***,this paper comprehensively investigates the state of the art of EV charging topologies and PEC solutions for EV *** examines PECs from the point of view of their classifications,configurations,control approaches,and future research prospects and their impacts on power *** can be classified into various topologies:DC-DC converters,AC-DC converters,DC-AC converters,and AC-AC *** address the limitations of traditional DC-DC converters such as switching losses,size,and high-electromagnetic interference(EMI),resonant converters and multiport converters are being used in high-voltage EV ***,power-train converters have been modified for high-efficiency and reliability in EV *** paper offers an overview of charging topologies,PECs,challenges with solutions,and future trends in the field of the EV charging station applications.

Hydrogen embrittlement remains a crucial concern in industries that rely on high-strength *** to hydrogen poses a significant threat to the mechanical integrity of such materials. This review article briefly discusses the fundamentals of hydrogen embrittlement, including its mechanisms and the effects of various factors, such as chemical composition and environmental conditions. Several heat treatments have been developed to eliminate the risk of hydrogen embrittlement. Among various suggested heat treatments, the retrogression-reaging (RRA) treatment has proven effective in optimizing the balance between mechanical properties and resistance to hydrogen embrittlement. This review highlights the role of RRA treatment in modifying the microstructure of Al-Zn-Mg alloys to enhance their ability to resist hydrogen embrittlement, building on existing *** interesting aspect explored in this article is the intricate relationship between pre-deformation and subsequent RRA treatment. Additionally, the review discusses the use of RRA as a post-weld heat treatment to mitigate the susceptibility of weldments to hydrogen embrittlement. A comprehensive exploration of these topics is beneficial for a thorough understanding of the multifaceted functions of RRA ***, despite its advantages, the widespread adoption of RRA treatment in the industry is hindered by certain challenges. This review addresses these challenges, offering insights into the latest strategies to overcome them.

Developing a biomaterial for wound healing applications is still a ***,dysprosium oxide(Dy_(2)O_(3)),aluminum oxide(Al_(2)O_(3)),and graphene oxide(GO)were embedded in cast films based on polycaprolactone(PCL)to be examined for wound dressing *** techniques were used to characterize the fabricated films including X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),Raman,and scanning electron microscopy(SEM),besides their biological *** thermogravimetric analysis(TGA)exhibits high thermal stability as the scaffold weight decreases slightly to 98.6%after raising the temperature from room temperature to 280℃.The cell viability was investigated and it is shown that the viable cells grow up to approximately 93%at 75μg/***,the cell attachment shows excellent behavior as the cells attach on most of the surface of the modified PCL which shows high biocompatibility.

Automated Facial Expression Recognition(FER)serves as the backbone of patient monitoring systems,security,and surveillance ***-time FER is a challenging task,due to the uncontrolled nature of the environment and poor quality of input *** this paper,a novel FER framework has been proposed for patient *** is performed using contrast-limited adaptive enhancement and the dataset is balanced using *** lightweight efficient Convolution Neural Network(CNN)models MobileNetV2 and Neural search Architecture Network Mobile(NasNetMobile)are trained,and feature vectors are *** Whale Optimization Algorithm(WOA)is utilized to remove irrelevant features from these ***,the optimized features are serially fused to pass them to the classifier.A comprehensive set of experiments were carried out for the evaluation of real-time image datasets FER-2013,MMA,and CK+to report performance based on various *** results show that the proposed model has achieved 82.5%accuracy and performed better in comparison to the state-of-the-art classification techniques in terms of *** would like to highlight that the proposed technique has achieved better accuracy by using 2.8 times lesser number of features.

Underwater images degraded due to low contrast and visibility ***,it is important to enhance the images and videos taken in the underwater environment before *** is a way to improve or increase image quality and to improve the contrast of degraded *** original image or video which is captured through image processing devices needs to improve as there are various issues such as less light available,low resolution,and blurriness in underwater images caused by the normal *** researchers have proposed different solutions to overcome these *** channel prior(DCP)is one of the most used techniques which produced a better Peak Signal to Noise Ratio(PSNR)***,DCP has some issues such as it tends to darken images,reduce contrast,and produce halo *** proposed method solves these issues with the help of contrast-limited adaptive histogram equalization(CLAHE)and the Adaptive Color Correction *** proposed method was assessed using Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology(JAMSTEC),and some images were collected from the *** measure of entropy(MOE),Measure of Enhancement(EME),Mean Square Error(MSE),and PSNR opted as performance measures during *** values of MSE and PSNR achieved by the proposed framework are 0.26 and 32 respectively which shows better results.

Aromatic/aliphatic polyamides were synthesized from a diamine monomer, 2,3-bis-p-aminophenylquinoxaline （IV）, based on quinoxaline and various dicarboxylic acids of aliphatic, aromatic and heterocyclic. The diamine and polyamides were characterized by elemental analysis, FTIR and IH-NMR. The solubility of the polyamides was affected by the quinoxaline and heterocyclic groups in the polymer chain. They were all soluble in common organic solvents such as dimethylsulfoxide （DMSO）, N,N-dimethylformamide （DMF） and N-methylpyrolidone （NMP）. The polyamides showed inherent viscosity in the range of 0.25-0.3 dL/g in DMSO at 25℃ and good thermal stability with the char yields in the range of 65%-82% at 600℃ in nitrogen.

A novel kind of aromatic diamine, N-（4-（4-（2,6-diphenyl pyridine-4-yl） phenoxy） phenyl）-3,5-diaminobezamide （DPDAB）, was synthesized via aromatic nucleophilic substitution of 3,5-dinitrobenzoylchloride with 4-（4-（2,6- diphenylpyridine-4-yl）phenoxy）aniline （DPPA）, followed by palladium-catalyzed hydrazine reduction. This monomer was used to prepare polyimides （PIs） based on reaction with several commerically avaiable tetracarboxylic dianhydrides such as pyromellatic dianhydride （PMDA）, benzophenone tetracarboxylic acide dianhydride （BTDA） and bicycle [2.2.2] oct-7-ene- 2, 3,5,6-tetracarboxylic dianhydride （BCDA）. These PIs had inherent viscosity in the range of 0.34-0.76 dL/g and showed good solubility in various aprotic polar solvents. The glass-transition tempratures （Tgs） of the PIs were in the range of 184-302℃, and showed high thermal stability with 10% weight loss in the temperature range of 360-500℃ under nitrogen atmosphere.

New types of polyamides containing pendent triaryl pyridine groups were successfully synthesized by direct polycondensation of a symmetry diamine,（4-（4-（2,6-diphenylpyridin-4yl）phenoxy）phenyl）-3,5-diaminobezamide（DPDAB）, and various aromatic and aliphatic dicarboxylic diacids in NMP using triphenyl phosphate（TPP） and pyridine as catalyst. The diamine and all the prepared polyamides were fully characterized by using FT-IR,~1H-NMR,UV-Vis spectroscopy, fluorimetry and elemental *** inherent viscosity of polyamides ranged from 0.45 dL/g to 0.68 dL/*** the polymers exhibited solubility in common polar aprotic solvents such as NMP,DMAc,DMF,DMSO,pyridine,HMPA,and even in less polar solvents such as THF and m-cresol at room *** properties of polyamides were evaluated by means of DSC,DMTA and *** polymers showed glass transition temperatures（T_g） in the range of 138-210℃. Their initial decomposition temperature（T_i） varied from 265℃to 310℃under N_*** dilute solution（0.2 g/dL） of polyamides in DMF exhibited fluorescence emission withλ_（max） in the range of 470-550 nm.
