Influence of contact pressure and sliding speed dependence on the tribological characteristics of an activated carbonepoxy composite derived from palm kernel under dry sliding conditions

The objective of this work is to investigate the influence of contact pressure and sliding speed on the coefficient of friction and wear of an activated carbon-epoxy composite derived from palm kernel under dry sliding conditions.A wear mode map approach was employed to identify the transitions from mild to severe wear of the *** dry sliding test was executed by utilizing a ball-on-disc tribometer at different contact pressures and sliding speeds with a constant sliding distance and operating *** results showed that,regardless of the sliding speed,the friction coefficient and wear rate of the composite increased drastically when a critical limit of contact pressure is *** for the sliding speed,both the friction coefficient and wear rate increased first and thereafter decreased at a higher speed of 500 rpm.A wear mode map is proposed to classify the boundary from mild to severe wear *** predominant wear failures identified include micro-crack,fine grooves,debonding,delamination,debris,broken carbon,and fracture.

Secure Transmission of Compressed Medical Image Sequences on Communication Networks Using Motion Vector Watermarking

Medical imaging plays a key role within modern hospital management systems for diagnostic *** methodologies are extensively employed to mitigate storage demands and enhance transmission speed,all while upholding image ***,an increasing number of hospitals are embracing cloud computing for patient data storage,necessitating meticulous scrutiny of server security and privacy ***,considering the widespread availability of multimedia tools,the preservation of digital data integrity surpasses the significance of compression *** response to this concern,we propose a secure storage and transmission solution for compressed medical image sequences,such as ultrasound images,utilizing a motion vector watermarking *** watermark is generated employing an error-correcting code known as Bose-Chaudhuri-Hocquenghem(BCH)and is subsequently embedded into the compressed sequence via block-based motion *** the process of watermark embedding,motion vectors are selected based on their magnitude and phase *** embedding watermarks,no specific spatial area,such as a region of interest(ROI),is used in the *** embedding of watermark bits is dependent on motion *** reversible watermarking allows the restoration of the original image sequences,we use the irreversible watermarking *** reason for this is that the use of reversible watermarks may impede the claims of ownership and legal *** restoration of original data or images may call into question ownership or other legal *** peak signal-to-noise ratio(PSNR)and structural similarity index(SSIM)serve as metrics for evaluating the watermarked image *** all images,the PSNR value exceeds 46 dB,and the SSIM value exceeds *** results substantiate the efficacy of the proposed technique in preserving data integrity.

Petrophysical well log data help to predict hydrocarbon reserves before field development which involves huge financial *** this study,reservoir characterization was performed with a view to obtain information on the geological formation type and petrophysical *** log data obtained from five wells were used to develop a 3D model of X-field in the Baram Delta which was in turn evaluated using the PETREL *** of gamma ray,sonic,density,resistivity and neutron logs aided the delineation and correlation of the sandstone *** hydrocarbon-bearing sands were defined from well log data and divided into two-reservoir zones,shallow and *** correlation assisted in the delineation of the reservoir sands across the *** quality of the reservoir formation was evaluated from average petrophysical properties:with an average thickness of 62 m,an average porosity of 0.19,an average net-to-gross ratio of 0.068,an average V-shale of 0.45,and an average water saturation of 0.95.A rollover anticline structure was identified across the field using the fault as a description *** of petrophysical parameters and uncertainty in the reservoir properties were included to predict the effect on the volume of oil in *** study revealed that the discovered hydrocarbon reserve resource accumulations in the Field X for the fourteen-mapped reservoir sands have a total proven reserve resource estimate of 740MMSTB at P90,655MMSTB at P50 and 593MMSTB at *** A and B are the only intervals with the highest recoverable oil,a volume of 256MMSTB at P90,215MMSTB at P50 and 181MMSTB at P10,*** analyses facilitated an improved reservoir description of shaly sandstone,which contributes to better planning of hydrocarbon re-development and future recovery,and thereby improving the energy supply security of the regions.
