Blood pressure circadian rhythm and heart rate turbulence in hypertensive patients: relationship with left ventricular hypertrophy

Objective To investigate the relationship of blood pressure circadian rhythm with myocardial hypertrophy and the changes of autonomic nerve function in patients with essential hypertension (EH). Methods Eighty-two female patients with essential hypertension (EH) underwent 24-hours ambulatory blood pressure monitorings (ABPM), dynamic electrocardiogram (Holter) and echocardiography examination. Patients were classified into non-dipping group (n=40) and dipping group (n=42) according to the result of ABPM. Left ventricular mass index (LVMI), heart rate variability (HRV) in time domain (including SDNN, SDANN, rMSSD, PNN50) and heart rate turbulence (HRT) parameters (including turbulence onset [TO] and turbulence slope [TS]) were measured. Results Compared with those in dipping group, patients in non-dipping group have higher incidence of LVH (19.0% vs 52.5%, P<0.01), greater mean LVMI (112.39±12.79 g/m2 vs 121.98±13.35 g/m2, P<0.01), decreased PNN50 and rMSSD. TS value was decreased while TO was increased in non-dipping group compared with those in dipping group (both P <0.01); patients with LVH showed decreased TS and increased TO, compared with those without LVH. Conclusion In female patients with EH, non-dipping blood pressure circadian is associated with higher incidence of LVH. The HRV and HRT were more remarkably blunted in non-dipping patients, as well as those with LVH.

针对风电机组风火打捆系统的次同步振荡问题,以双馈风电场接入火电机组串补系统为研究对象,在双馈风电场不引发次同步振荡的情况下,基于模式阻尼法定量分析不同控制参数、运行工况、并网机组数量的双馈风电场接入前后火电机组轴系扭振作用。研究结果显示双馈风电场的接入使得火电机组各轴系扭振模式的衰减系数均减小,有利于缓解火电机组的轴系扭振。构建EMTDC/PSCAD仿真算例系统,检验了理论分析结果的确切性。

Towards Fast Repackaging and Dynamic Authority Management on Android

In order to enhance the security of Android applications, we propose a repackaging and dynamic authority management scheme based on Android application reinforcement methods Instead of using root privileges and system modification, we introduce a user-level sandbox, which utilizes the native C-level interception mechanism, to further reinforce the risk applications and improve the entire security of Android system. Additionally, by importing and improving the repackaging features, this proposed scheme reduces the potential risks of applications and achieves the goal of the dynamic monitoring of permissions. Finally, a comprehensive evaluation, including efficiency analysis and detection evaluation with 1 000 malwares, whose overall average success rate is about 96%, shows the feasibility and univer- sality of the proposed scheme.

Novel Autoantibodies Related to Cell Death and DNA Repair Pathways in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

Systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE)is a complex autoimmune syndrome characterized by various co-existing autoantibodies(autoAbs)in patients’***,the full spectrum of autoAbs in SLE has not been comprehensively *** this study,a commercial platform bearing 9400 antigens(ProtoArray)was used to identify autoAbs that were significantly elevated in the sera of SLE *** comparing the autoAb profiles of SLE patients with those of healthy controls,we identified 437 IgG and 1213 IgM autoAbs that the expression levels were significantly increased in SLE(P<0.05).Use of the ProtoArray platform uncovered over 300 novel autoAbs targeting a broad range of nuclear,cytoplasmic,and membrane *** interaction network analysis revealed that the antigens targeted by the autoAbs were most significantly enriched in cell death,cell cycle,and DNA repair pathways.A group of autoAbs associated with cell apoptosis and DNA repair function,including those targeting APEX1,AURKA,POLB,AGO1,HMGB1,IFIT5,MAPKAPK3,PADI4,RGS3,SRP19,UBE2S,and VRK1,were further validated by ELISA and Western blot in a larger *** addition,the levels of autoAbs against APEX1,HMGB1,VRK1,AURKA,PADI4,and SRP19 were positively correlated with the level of anti-dsDNA in SLE *** autoAb screening has identified novel autoAbs,which may shed light on potential pathogenic pathways leading to lupus.

Protocatechuic acid and quercetin attenuate ETEC-caused IPEC-1 cell inflammation and injury associated with inhibition of necroptosis and pyroptosis signaling pathways

Au nanoclusters suppress chronic lymphocytic leukaemia cells by inhibiting thioredoxin reductase 1 to induce intracellular oxidative stress and apoptosis

Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia （CLL） is a rare blood cancer that always relapses as refractory disease and eventually leads to death. To date, therapeutic options for CLL patients are scarce and there is an urgent need to develop novel chemotherapeutics that are both effective and safe. Gold-containing compounds induce a lethal oxidative and endoplasmic reticulum stress response in cultured and primary CLL cells via inhibition of thioredoxin reductase （TrxR）. However, traditional gold-containing medicines have revealed side effects during clinical applications. Therefore, safer gold-containing drugs are needed to overcome this challenge. In this study, a novel peptide templated gold cluster Au2sSv9 was synthesized and its therapeutic effect on CLL cells was evaluated. This nanocluster could induce cell apoptosis in MEC-1 cells in a dose-dependent manner which correlated with the uptake amount of clusters in cells. As expected, increasing intracellular reactive oxidative species （ROS） in MEC-1 cells was exhibited with the increase of cluster dosage. Further analyses demonstrated the underlying mechanism that the nan- oclusters suppress the activity ofTrxR1, increase the level of intracellular ROS, destroy the mitochondrial membrane potential and finally trigger the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway in MEC-1 cells. Furthermore, the direct interaction between Au2sSv9 clusters and TrxRl was confirmed for the first time by isothermal titration calorimetry. These findings explored the preclinical efficacy and potential mech- anism of gold clusters in CLL therapy and provided a fundamental reference for the development of other novel gold-containing chemotherapeutics to treat CLL.

Fluoride passivation of ZnO electron transport layers for efficient PbSe colloidal quantum dot photovoltaics

Lead selenide(PbSe) colloidal quantum dots(CQDs) are suitable for the development of the next-generation of photovoltaics(PVs) because of efficient multiple-exciton generation and strong charge coupling ability. To date, the reported high-efficient PbSe CQD PVs use spin-coated zinc oxide(ZnO) as the electron transport layer(ETL). However, it is found that the surface defects of ZnO present a difficulty in completion of passivation, and this impedes the continuous progress of *** address this disadvantage, fluoride(F) anions are employed for the surface passivation of ZnO through a chemical bath deposition method(CBD). The F-passivated ZnO ETL possesses decreased densities of oxygen vacancy and a favorable band alignment. Benefiting from these improvements, PbSe CQD PVs report an efficiency of 10.04%, comparatively 9.4%higher than that of devices using sol-gel(SG) ZnO as ETL. We are optimistic that this interface passivation strategy has great potential in the development of solution-processed CQD optoelectronic devices.
