Magnetic resonance imaging characterization of circumferential and longitudinal strain under various coronary interventions in swine

AIM:To compare the acute changes in circumferential and longitudinal strain after exposing a coronary artery to various interventions in ***:Percutaneous balloon angioplasty catheter was guided to location aid device(LAD)under X-ray fluoroscopy to create different patterns of ischemic ***(n=32)were equally divided into 4 groups:controls,90 min LAD occlusion/reperfusion,LAD microembolization,and combined LAD occlusion/microembolization/*** days after interventions,cine,tagged and viability magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)were acquired to measure and compare left and right circumferential strain,longitudinal strain and myocardial viability,*** were obtained using HARP and semi-automated threshold method and statistically analyzed using unpaired *** and vascular damage was characterized ***:Coronary microemboli caused greater impairment in l left ventricular(LV)circumferential strain and dyssynchrony than LAD occlusion/reperfusion despite the significant difference in the extent of myocardial *** also caused significant decrease in peak systolic strain rate of remote myocardium and LV *** MRI demonstrated the interaction between LV and right ventricular(RV)at 3 d after *** increase in RV free wall longitudinal strain was seen in response to all *** MRI,histochemical staining and microscopy revealed different patterns of myocardial damage and microvascular ***:Cine MRI revealed subtle changes in LV strain caused by various ischemic *** also demonstrated the interaction between the right and left ventricles after coronary *** microemboli with and without acute myocardial infarction(AMI)cause complex myocardial injury and ventricular dysfunction that is not replicated in solely AMI.

Modelling the monthly hydrological balance using Soil and Water Assessment Tool(SWAT)model:A case study of the Wadi Mina upstream watershed

Modelling the hydrological balance in semi-arid zones is essential for effective water resource management,encompassing both surface water and *** study aims to model the monthly hydrological water cycle in the Wadi Mina upstream watershed(northwest Algeria)by applying the Soil and Water Assessment Tool(SWAT)hydrological *** modelling integrates spatial data such as the Digital Elevation Model(DEM),land use,soil types and various meteorological parameters including precipitation,maximum and minimum temperatures,relative humidity,solar radiation and wind *** SWAT model was calibrated and validated using data from January 2012 to December 2014,with a calibra-tion period from January 2012 to August 2013 and a validation period from September 2013 to December *** and parameter calibration were conducted using the SWAT-sa program,and model performance evaluation relied on comparing the observed discharge at the outlet of the basin with model-simulated discharge,assessed through statistical coefficients including Nash-Sutcliffe Efficiency(NSE),coefficient of determination(R2)and Percent Bias(PBAIS).Calibration results indicated favourable objec-tive function values(NSE=0.79,R2=0.93,PBAIS=-8.53%),although a slight decrease was observed during validation(NSE=0.69,R2=0.86,and PBAIS=-11.41%).The application of the SWAT model to the Wadi Mina upstream watershed highlighted its utility in simulating the spatial distribution of different components of the hydrological balance in this *** SWAT model revealed that approximately 71%of the precipitation in the basin evaporates,while only 29%contributes to surface runoff or infiltration into the soil.

In recent years,water evaporation-induced electricity has attracted a great deal of attention as an emerging green and renewable energy harvesting *** abundant materials have been developed to fabricate hydrovoltaic devices,the limitations of high costs,inconvenient storage and transport,low environmental benefits,and unadaptable shape have restricted their wide ***,an electricity generator driven by water evaporation has been engineered based on natural biomass leather with inherent properties of good moisture permeability,excellent wettability,physicochemical stability,flexibility,and *** numerous nano/microchannels together with rich oxygen-bearing functional groups,the natural leather-based water evaporator,Leather_(Emblic-NPs-sa/CB),could continuously produce electricity even staying outside,achieving a maximum output voltage of∼3 V with six-series ***,the leather-based water evaporator has enormous potential for use as a flexible self-powered electronic floor and seawater demineralizer due to its sensitive pressure sensing ability as well as its excellent photothermal conversion efficiency(96.3%)and thus fast water evaporation rate(2.65 kg m^(−2)h^(−1)).This work offers a new and functional material for the construction of hydrovoltaic devices to harvest the sustained green energy from water evaporation in arbitrary ambient environments,which shows great promise in their widespread applications.

Annealing Harmony Search Algorithm to Solve the Nurse Rostering Problem

A real-life problem is the rostering of nurses at *** is a famous nondeterministic,polynomial time(NP)-hard combinatorial optimization *** the real-world nurse rostering problem(NRP)constraints in distributing workload equally between available nurses is still a difficult task to *** international shortage of nurses,in addition to the spread of COVID-19,has made it more difficult to provide convenient rosters for *** on the literature,heuristic-based methods are the most commonly used methods to solve the NRP due to its computational complexity,especially for large ***-based algorithms in general have problems striking the balance between diversification and ***,this paper aims to introduce a novel metaheuristic hybridization that combines the enhanced harmony search algorithm(EHsa)with the simulated annealing(sa)algorithm called the annealing harmony search algorithm(AHsa).The AHsa is used to solve NRP from a Malaysian *** AHsa performance is compared to the EHsa,climbing harmony search algorithm(CHsa),deluge harmony search algorithm(DHsa),and harmony annealing search algorithm(HAS).The results show that the AHsa performs better than the other compared algorithms for all the tested instances where the best ever results reported for the UKMMC dataset.

Three-Photon Absorption in Zno Film Using Ultra Short Pulse Laser

The three-photon absorption (3PA) in nanostructure wide-band gap ZnO semiconductor material is observed under high intensity femtosecond Titanium-sapphire laser of 800 nm wavelength excitation. The ZnO film was prepared by chemical spray pyrolysis technique with substrate temperature of 400℃. The optical properties concerning the absorp-tion, transmission, reflection, Raman and the photoluminescence spectra are studied for the prepared film. The structure of the ZnO film was tested with the X-Ray diffraction and it was found to be a polycrystalline with recognized peaks oriented in (002), and (102). The measured of three photon absorption coefficient was found to be about 0.0166 cm3/Gwatt2, which is about five times higher than the bulk value. The fully computerized z-scan system was used to measure the nonlinear coefficients from the Gaussian fit of the transmitted laser incident.
