Engineered cardiac constructs(ECC)aid in the progression of regenerative medicine,disease modeling and targeted drug delivery to adjust and aim the release of remedial combination as well as decrease the side effects of *** this research,polycaprolactone/gold nanoparticles(PCL/GNPs)three-dimensional(3D)composite scaffolds were manufactured by 3D printing using the fused deposition modeling(FDM)method and then coated with gelatin/spironolactone(GEL/SPL).Scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy(FTIR–ATR)were applied to characterize the ***,drug release,biodegradation,behavior of the myoblasts(H9C2)cell line,and cytotoxicity of the 3D scaffolds were *** microstructural observation of the scaffolds reported interconnected pores with 150–300µm in *** 3D scaffolds were degraded significantly after 28 days of immersion in stimulated body fluid(SBF),with the maximum rate of GEL-coated 3D *** release from cross-linked GEL coating demonstrated the excess of drug release over time,and according to the control release systems,the drug delivery systems(DDS)went into balance after the 14th *** addition,cell culture study showed that with the addition of GNPs,the proliferation of(H9C2)was enhanced,and with GEL/SPL coating the cell attachment and viability were improved *** findings suggested that PCL/GNPs 3D scaffolds coated with GEL/SPL can be an appropriate choice for myocardial tissue engineering.

Blockchain-based governance models supporting corruption-transparency: A systematic literature review

Corruption and lack of transparency remain critical challenges in governance systems around the world. These issues are often perpetuated by centralized systems and their manipulation by system administrators. Furthermore, the lack of data ownership and the monetization of user data by tech companies further increase concerns about transparency. In light of these concerns, this study aims to review existing blockchain-based governance models and identify best-practice governance models focusing on corruption transparency, their characteristics, and components. The research will also examine the role of a token economy in addressing trusted third-party issues related to asset ownership management. Furthermore, we discuss the effect of smart contracts, blockchain, decentralized autonomous organizations (DAO), Web 3.0, and multifactor challenge set self-sovereign identity authentication (MFSSIA) as modern technologies to combat corruption and achieve transparency in the public sector. To achieve this, we conduct a systematic literature review (SLR) comprising peer-reviewed journals, proceedings, and book chapters published between 2012 and 2023. Using the SLR methodology, 45 primary and supporting studies have been selected for result extraction and analysis. Finally, we discovered seven blockchain-based governance models with their characteristics and primary components.

A thermo-mechanical simulation for the stability analysis of a horizontal wellbore in underground coal gasification

The stability analysis of horizontal wells is essential for a successful underground coal gasification(UCG)operation. In this paper, a new 3D coupled thermo-mechanical numerical modeling is proposed for analyzing the stability of UCG horizontal wells. In this model, the effect of front abutment stresses,syngas pressure, syngas temperature and thermal stresses is considered to predict the mud weight window and drilling mud pressure during UCG process. The results show that the roof caving in UCG panel has a greatest impact on the stability of horizontal well. Moreover, when the time of coal gasification is increased, the well convergence increases and for more stability it is necessary to increase the drilling mud pressure. This research was carried out on the M2 coal seam in Mazino coal deposit(Iran).The results showed that the mud weight window for horizontal well drilling is between 0 and 33 *** appropriate stress for the maximum stability of the horizontal well, taking all the thermal and mechanical parameters into account, is 28 MPa. The suggested numerical method is a comprehensive and consistent way for analyzing the stability of horizontal wells in UCG sites.

In-depth analysis of VARTM-based solid-state supercapacitors utilizing CNT-dispersed cobalt-bismuth-samarium ternary hydroxide on woven carbon fiber for enhanced energy storage

Multi-metal hydroxides possess unique physical and chemical properties,making them promising candidates for supercapacitor working *** their electrochemical performance can be achieved through a combination with carbon *** this study,we synthesized a composite material by hydrothermally dispersed 4,6,and 10 wt% carbon nanotubes(CNT) into ternary cobaltbismuth-samarium hydroxide(CoBiSm-TOH).These nanocomposites were employed as the material for the working electrode in a *** findings reveal that at 1.5 A/g,the specific capacitance of CNT3@CoBiSm-TOH,using a three-electrode system,was found to be 852.91 F/g,higher than that of CoBi-BOH,CoBiSm-TOH,CNT1@CoBiSm-TOH and CNT5@CoBiSm-TOH-measuring 699.69,750.34,789.54 and 817.79 F/g,***,CNT3@CoBiSm-TOH electrodes exhibited a capacitance retention of around 88% over 10,000 *** demonstrate practical applicability,CNT3@CoBiSm-TOH was grown on woven carbon fiber(WCF),and a solid-state supercapacitor device was developed using the VARTM(vacuum-assisted resin transfer molding).This device displayed a specific capacitance of 272.67 F/g at 2.25 A/***,it achieved a maximum energy density of 53.01 Wh/kg at a power density of 750 W/kg and sustained excellent cycle stability over 50,000 cycles,maintaining 70% of its initial *** results underscore the importance of interfacial nanoengineering and provide crucial insights for the development of future energy storage devices.

Analyzing the Interplay of Sintering Conditions on Microstructure and Hardness in Indirect Additive Manufacturing of 17-4PH Stainless Steel

Indirect additive manufacturing(AM)methods have recently attracted attention from researchers thanks to their great potential for cheap,straightforward,and small-scale production of metallic *** diffusion additive manufacturing(ADAM),a variant of indirect AM methods,is a layer-wise indirect AM process recently developed based on fused deposition modeling and metal injection ***,there is still limited knowledge of the process conditions and material properties fabricated through this process,where sintering plays a crucial role in the final consolidation of ***,this research,for the first time,systematically investigates the impact of various sintering conditions on the shrinkage,relative density,microstructure,and hardness of the 17-4PH ADAM *** this reason,as-washed samples were sintered under different time-temperature *** sample density was evaluated using Archimedes,computed tomography,and image analysis *** outcomes revealed that sintering variables significantly impacted the density of brown 17-4PH Stainless Steel *** results indicated more than 99% relative densities,higher than the value reported by Markforged Inc.(~96%).Based on parallel porosities observed in the computed tomography results,it can be suggested that by modifying the infill pattern during printing,it would be possible to increase the final relative *** microhardness of the sintered samples in this study was higher than that of the standard sample provided by Markforged *** at 1330℃ for 4 h increased the density of the printed sample without compromising its mechanical *** to X-ray diffraction analysis,the standard sample provided by Markforged ***“1330℃—4 h”one had similar stable phases,although copper-rich intermetallics were more abundant in the microstructure of reference *** study is expected to facilitate the adoption of indirect metal AM methods by different sector

Stratigraphy of the Alveolina elliptica group from the Middle Eocene of Iran:Calibration with calcareous nannofossils biozones and description of Alveolina ozcani n. sp.

Precise taxonomy and the chronostratigraphic calibration of the Middle Eocene Alveolina from Central Iran is here undertaken from the Chah-Talkh section of the southern Sabzevar region(Central Iran). We have identified Alveolina kieli, Alveolina stercusmuris and Alveolina nuttalli along with the new species Alveolina ozcani n. sp. that we include into the Alveolina elliptica group. We have also found Nummulites uroniensis, Nummulites obesus and Nummulites cf. verneuili and associated calcareous nannofossils that look reliable to make thoughtful correlations with the Shallow Benthic Zones(SBZ). The foraminiferal biostratigraphy suggests an assignment to the upper part of the lower Lutetian-lower part of the middle Lutetian,SBZ13(Middle Eocene), further strengthened through the identification of the calcareous nannofossil NP14b-NP15b or CNE8-CNE10 biozones, providing a solid correlation with the global stratigraphic standards.

Post processing of additive manufactured Mg alloys:Current status,challenges,and opportunities

Magnesium(Mg)and its alloys are emerging as a structural material for the aerospace,automobile,and electronics industries,driven by the imperative of weight *** are also drawing notable attention in the medical industries owing to their biodegradability and a lower elastic modulus comparable to *** ability to manufacture near-net shape products featuring intricate geometries has sparked huge interest in additive manufacturing(AM)of Mg alloys,reflecting a transformation in the manufacturing ***,AM of Mg alloys presents more formidable challenges due to inherent properties,particularly susceptibility to oxidation,gas trapping,high thermal expansion coefficient,and low solidification *** leads to defects such as porosity,lack of fusion,cracking,delamination,residual stresses,and inhomogeneity,ultimately influencing the mechanical,corrosion,and surface properties of AM Mg *** address these issues,post-processing of AM Mg alloys are often needed to make them suitable for *** present article reviews all post-processing techniques adapted for AM Mg alloys to date,including heat treatment,hot isostatic pressing,friction stir processing,and surface *** utilization of these methods within the hybrid AM process,employing interlayer post-processing,is also *** post-processing conditions are reported,and their influence on the microstructure,mechanical,and corrosion properties are ***,future prospects and research directions are proposed.

Artificial ground freezing of underground mines in cold regions using thermosyphons with air insulation

Current practice of underground artificial ground freezing(AGF)typically involves huge refrigeration systems of large economic and environmental *** this study,a novel AGF technique is proposed deploying available cold wind in cold *** is achieved by a static heat transfer device called thermosyphon equipped with an air insulation layer.A refrigeration unit can be optionally integrated to meet additional cooling *** introduction of air insulation isolates the thermosyphon from ground zones where freezing is not needed,resulting in:(1)steering the cooling resources(cold wind or refrigeration)towards zones of interest;and(2)minimizing refrigeration *** design is demonstrated using well-validated mathematical models from our previous work based on two-phase enthalpy method of the ground coupled with a thermal resistance network for the *** Canadian mines are considered:the Cigar Lake Mine and the Giant *** results show that our proposed design can speed the freezing time by 30%at the Giant Mine and by two months at the Cigar Lake ***,a cooling load of 2.4 GWh can be saved at the Cigar Lake ***,this study provides mining practitioners with sustainable solutions of underground AGF.
