The effect of presence of silver nanoparticles in pure N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone(NmP)solvent for ethylene gas absorption in an experimental pressure decaying setup has been *** experiments were performed at temperatures of 278.15 K,298.15 K and 328.15 K and different pressures(up to ethylene dew point)as well as different concentrations of silver nanoparticles(0.05 g·L^(-1) and 0.1 g·L^(-1)).The kinetic data of absorption,Henry’s law constants,and heat of absorption were *** of the pure solvent and the nanofluids absorption results revealed that the presence of small amounts of nanoparticles could improve the absorption performance between 1.5%-18%.Finally,the effect of temperature,pressure,and nanoparticle concentration on the equilibrium results were investigated.

In this paper,free vibration,wave propagation,and bending analyses of a sandwich microbeam integrated with piezoelectric face-sheets resting on Pasternak foundation under electric potential are presented based on the strain gradient theory and Euler–Bernoulli beam *** material properties of core are assumed variable along the thickness direction and piezoelectric face-sheets are assumed homogeneous piezoelectric materials.A two-dimensional electric potential distribution along the axial and transverse direction is applied on the face-sheets of *** principal is used to derive governing differential equations of *** behaviors of sandwich microbeam including free vibration,wave propagation,and bending analyses are studied in this *** numerical results are presented to capture the effect of important parameters of the problem such as in-homogeneous index,applied voltage,parameters of foundation,and material length *** numerical results indicate that the effect of electric potential along the axial direction is very small rather than one along the transverse direction where initial voltage is applied.

Effects of Common Ions on Zn Sorption in Some Calcareous Soils of Western Iran

Zinc （Zn） is essential to plant growth and relatively mobile in soils. This study was conducted to assess the effect of common ions （Ca2＋, K＋, Na＋, NH＋, CI-, NO3-, and H2PO4） on sorption of Zn in surface samples of ten calcareous soils from western Iran using 10 mmol L-1 KC1, KNO3, KH2P04, Ca（N03）2, NAN03, and NH4N03 solutions as background electrolytes. The results indicated that both NH＋, K＋, and Ca2＋ equally decreased Zn sorption as compared to Na＋. Zinc sorption was decreased by H2PO4- as compared to NO3 and Cl-. The Langmuir and Freundlich equations fitted closely to the sorption data of all ions. The Langmuir maximum, bonding energy constant, and Freundlich distribution coefficient for Zn sorption differed among the various ionic background electrolytes. Langmuir sorption parameters showed that the presence of H2PO4- decreased the maximum Zn adsorbed, but increased the bonding energy. Although K＋ and NH＋ equally influenced maximum Zn adsorbed, they differed in their effect on the distribution coefficient of Zn in soils. Values of saturation index calculated using Visual mINTEQ indicated that at the low Zn concentration, Zn solubility was controlled by sorption reactions and at the high Zn concentration, it was mainly controlled by sorption and mineral precipitation reactions, such as precipitation of Zn3（PO4）2.4H2O, Zn5（OH）6（CO3）2, and ZnCO3. For most ionic background electrolytes, soil pH, CaC03, and cation exchange capacity （CEC） were significantly correlated with sorption parameters.

BACKGROUND Clavicle fractures can rarely be associated with brachial plexus *** are commonly caused by tractional injury at the time of trauma,but unfrequently can be caused by compression of the brachial plexus from excessive callus or granulation tissue *** SUmmARY We report a rare case of an adult male who sustained a mid-shaft clavicle fracture and had a late presentation of brachial plexus palsy due to compression from excessive callus *** We reported a case of a rare occurrence of delayed brachial plexus palsy due to compression from excessive callus formation in a midshaft clavicle *** diagnosis and surgical decompression of the brachial plexus is critical,as when managed efficiently,a full recovery of the brachial plexus palsy can be expected in these patients.

Jajarm＇s bauxite deposits are mainly diasporic, and they have a low mass ratio of Al2O3/SiO2. It is necessary to increase the run-of-mine mass ratio before feeding the material to the Bayer process. Chemical analysis indicated that the low-grade bauxite sample from Jajarm contained 43.9wt% Al2O3 and 13.35wt% SiO2, resulting in a mass ratio of 3.29. According to mineralogical studies, the presence of aluminosilicate minerals such as kaolinite, illite, and quartz was the main reason for the decrease of the mass ratio. microscopic observations revealed that, with the size reduction from -1000＋710 to -38 μm, the liberation degree of diaspore increased from 10% to 60%, and that of aluminosilicates increased from 20% to 85%. Heavy liquids with the densities of 2.8, 3.0, 3.2, and 3.4 g/cm3 were used to evaluate the heavy media separation in three sizes, i.e., -3350＋710, -710＋212, and -212＋125 μm. Laboratory studies confirm that the density of 3.2 g/cm3 can produce the concentrates （in sunk fractions） with recoveries of 89.09%, 91.24%, and 84.68% with the Al2O3/SiO2 mass ratios of 5.03, 5.16, and 5.15 for the -3350＋710, -710＋212, and -212＋ 125 μ m sizes, respectively.

A numerical investigation has been performed on supersonic mixing of hydrogen with air in a Scramjet (Supersonic Combustion Ramjet) combustor and its flame holding capability by solving Two-Dimensional full Navier-Stokes equations. The main flow is air entering through a finite width of inlet and gaseous hydrogen is injected perpendicularly from the side wall. An explicit Harten-Yee Non-mUSCL modified-flux-type TVD scheme has been used to solve the system of equations, and a zero-equation algebraic turbulence model to calculate the eddy viscosity coefficient. In this study the enhancement of mixing and good flame holding capability of a supersonic combustor have been investigated by varying the distance of injector position from left boundary keeping constant the backward-facing step height and other calculation parameters. The results show that the configuration for small distance of injector position has high mixing efficiency but the upstream recirculation can not evolved properly which is an important factor for flame holding capability. On the other hand, the configuration for very long distance has lower mixing efficiency due to lower gradient of hydrogen mass concentration on the top of injector caused by the expansion of side jet in both upstream and downstream of injector. For moderate distance of injector position, large and elongated upstream recirculation can evolve which might be activated as a good flame holder.
