The conventional pseudo-dynamic(CPD)and modified pseudo-dynamic(MPD)methods are invoked to obtain the seismic bearing capacity of strip foundations using the limit equilibrium method,with a two-wedge failure mechanism.A spectral version of the conventional pseudo-dynamic method(sPD)is.also invoked by considering the ground motion amplification factor,to be a function of the non-dimensional frequencyλ/B and soil *** analyses show that bearing capacity results obtained by the MPD and sPD methods are generally *** experience the same general reduction in bearing capacity with the increase ofλ/B,with successive ups and downs corresponding to soil′s natural *** 5sPD and MPD results fluctuated between falling above and below CPD ***λ/BsPD and MPD results were consistent with attenuation of the shear wave,while for 10s *** obtained by the CPD method monotonically decrease,due to the fact that CPD fails to inherently consider site effects and damping,and instead and relies on a single factor to consider the ground motion amplification.

Cdc25 phosphatase have been regarded as attractive drug targets for anticancer therapies due to the correlation of their over expression with a wide variety of cancers. They are key regulators of cell cycle progression and play a central role in the checkpoint response to DNA damage. The role of Cdc25 s in cancer has become increasingly evident in recent years. More than 20 studies of patient samples are from diverse cancers show significant overexpression of Cdc25 with frequent correlation to clinical outcome. Recent screening and design efforts have yielded novel classes of inhibitors that show specificity for the Cdc25 s over other phosphatases and cause cell cycle arrest in vivo. Until now, quinone derivatives are among the most efficient inhibitors of Cdc25 phosphatase activity. Our research objective is to study the inhibition of the phosphathase Cdc25 through the molecular modeling methods.

study of Tungsten Phosphate Glasses Containing Fe2O3

Glasses of the compositions 20Li2O-(50 - x)Li2WO4-xFe2O3-30P2O5 where (x = 0, 1, 5, 8, 10, 15 mol%) were elaborated by the melt-quenching route. synthesized glasses are characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), differential scanning calorimetric?(DsC), and density determination. The XRD patterns confirmed the?amorphous nature of samples, and IR spectra showed the structural groups and highlight the depolymerization of phosphate network with the introduction of iron oxide. It is found that the structural unit Q2 converts to Q1 and Q0 as Fe2O3 replaces Li2WO4. Chemical durability tests on the glasses have shown that the compositions containing pyrophosphate (Q1) and orthophosphate (Q0) units are more water-resist. The electrical conductivity measurements were performed by complex impedance spectroscopy in the frequency range of 20 - 106 Hz at various temperatures from ambient to 400°C. It is found that the conductivity is activated thermally and follows an Arrhenius law. The obtained electrical data were analyzed by the modulus formalism and dielectric formalism. The determined asymmetric nature of? spectra suggested that the relaxation behavior is non-Debye and characterized by the stretched exponent parameter

Docking studies on Binding Modes between the CatechoI-O-Methyltransferase and Catechol Derivatives for Antiparkinson Drug

Inhibition of the enzyme COMT （catechol-O-methyltransferase） is an important approach in the treatment of Parkinson＇s disease. A series of potent catechols for COMT may give insight to develop new ways of antiparkinson drug. COMT inhibitors represent a new class of antiparkinson drugs, when they are coadministered with levodopa. Our goal of research is to study the inhibition of catechol-O-methyltransferase by molecular modeling methods. Different molecular modeling tools are used to perform this work （molecular mechanics, molecular dynamics and molecular docking （molegro virtnaldocker））. The results obtained from this work, into which the inhibition of catechol-O-methyltransferase by molecular modeling methods was elucidated, allow us to conclude that different catechols presents a more optimised inhibition of catechol-O-methyltransferase. The results suggest reducing the severity of Parkinson＇s disease.

systematic literature review of the antitumor effect of octreotide in neuroendocrine tumors

AIM To provide a comprehensive examination of the existing evidence of the antitumor effect of long-acting octreotide in neuroendocrine tumors(NETs).METHODs A systematic literature review of clinical trials and observational studies was conducted in PubM ed, EMBAsE, and Cochrane through January 18, 2017. Conference abstracts for 2015 and 2016 from 5 scientific meetings were also *** Of 41 articles/abstracts identified, 13 unique studies compared octreotide with active or no treatment. Two of the 13 studies were clinical trials; the remaining were observational studies. The phase 3 Placebo-Controlled, Double-Blind, Prospective, Randomized study of the Effect of Octreotide long-acting repeatable(LAR) in the Control of Tumor Growth in Patients with MetastaticNeuroendocrine Midgut Tumors clinical trial showed that long-acting octreotide significantly prolonged time to tumor progression compared with placebo in patients with functionally active and inactive metastatic midgut NETs; no statistically significant difference in overall survival(Os) was observed, possibly due to the crossover of placebo patients to octreotide. Retrospective observational studies found that long-acting octreotide use was associated with significantly longer Os than no octreotide use for patients with distant metastases.although not for those with local/regional disease. CONCLUsION The clinical trial and observational studies with informative evidence support long-acting octreotide's antitumor effect on time to tumor progression and Os. This review showed the rarity of existing studies assessing octreotide's antitumor effect and recommends that future research is warranted.

The effect of temperature (18°C - 30°C), water activity (0.85 - 1) and pH (4 - 9) was studied by dual culture technique on the antagonism of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens and Trichoderma harzianum to Colletotrichum acutatum, responsible of strawberry (Fragaria x ananassa (Weston) Duchesne ex Rozier) anthracnose. The antagonistic bacteria’s strains behave significantly and differently according to the parameters studied. These results reveal useful information about the applicability of their biocontrol in agricultural culture with the change of environmental factors.

seven Colletotrichum acutatum strains isolated from strawberries were cultivated on various culture media and tested in vitro and in vivo on Fragaria x ananassa for anthracnose symptoms. PDA caused an optimum growth of all isolates, MEA, ML and strawberry allowed a good but not optimal growth. Czapeck, sabouraud and the organic medium from potato gave the lowest growth rate of all isolates. PDA allowed a good sporulation of isolates follow-up by strawberry, MEA;in contrast, ML, Czapeck and sabouraud gave a low sporulation. The fungal development is maximal at 25°C and 27°C for all the isolates studied. No growth was observed at 5°C and 37°C. The studied strains developed at all pH values. They didn’t develop at 0.6, 0.65 and 0.7 aw but mycelial growth was perfect at 1 and 0.95 aw. The in vitro test of the pathogenicity caused by C. acutatum strains on strawberry’s leaves showed an increasing percentage of infection with time and different infection rates among C. acutatum strains, strain Ca6 having a pathogenic power very high compared to the other isolates. After in vivo inoculation and incubation of the seedlings, all isolates caused severe symptoms related to anthracnose on leaflets and petioles of the studied strawberry plants.
