Background: Obesity alone and rapid weigh. loss induced by bariatric surgery are recognized risk factors for th. development of ch.lelith.asis. Th.s study aimed to identify th. predictive factors for gallstone formation after bariatric surgery. Patient and meth.ds: Th. files of all morbidly obese patients underwent bariatric surgery in our unit during th. period from March.2003 till October 2010 were reviewed and analyzed. All patients underwent routine preoperative ultrasonograph. and selective concomitant ch.lecystectomy was done in all patients with.ultrasonograph.c-confirmed ch.lelith.asis. After excluding cases with.prior and concomitant ch.lecystectomies, patients were divided into two groups;th.se wh. developed gallstones and th.se wh. did not and th. two groups were compared. Results: Of th. 143 reviewed files 135 were eligible to be included in th. study. Th. incidence of ch.lelith.asis before surgery was 25.9% (35 cases). 19 cases (19%) of th. 100 cases free at surgery developed gallstone at a mean of 13.2 month.. Comparing th. two groups, no significant difference was revealed regarding gender, age, preoperative BMI or type of th. operation. But th. percent of excess weigh. loss was significantly h.gh.r in th. group th.t formed gallstones. Conclusion: Gender, age, preoperative BMI and type of th. operation were not predictive of gallstones formation after bariatric surgery. Th. percent of excess weigh. loss was th. only predictive postoperative factor.

As th. use of blockch.in for digital payments continues to rise, it becomes susceptible to various malicious attacks. Successfully detecting anomalies with.n blockch.in transactions is essential for bolstering trust in digital payments. h.wever, th. task of anomaly detection in blockch.in transaction data is ch.llenging due to th. infrequent occurrence of illicit transactions. Alth.ugh.several studies h.ve been conducted in th. field, a limitation persists: th. lack of explanations for th. model's predictions. Th.s study seeks to overcome th.s limitation by integrating explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) tech.iques and anomaly rules into tree-based ensemble classifiers for detecting anomalous Bitcoin transactions. Th. sh.pley additive explanation (Sh.P) meth.d is employed to measure th. contribution of each.feature, and it is compatible with.ensemble models. Moreover, we present rules for interpreting wh.th.r a Bitcoin transaction is anomalous or not. Additionally, we introduce an under-sampling algorith. named XGBCLUS, designed to balance anomalous and non-anomalous transaction data. Th.s algorith. is compared against oth.r commonly used under-sampling and over-sampling tech.iques. Finally, th. outcomes of various tree-based single classifiers are compared with.th.se of stacking and voting ensemble classifiers. Our experimental results demonstrate th.t: (i) XGBCLUS enh.nces true positive rate (TPR) and receiver operating ch.racteristic-area under curve (ROC-AUC) scores compared to state-of-th.-art under-sampling and over-sampling tech.iques, and (ii) our proposed ensemble classifiers outperform traditional single tree-based mach.ne learning classifiers in terms of accuracy, TPR, and false positive rate (FPR) scores.

Reservoir simulation is known as perh.ps th. most widely used, accurate, and reliable meth.d for field development in th. petroleum industry. An integral part of a reliable reservoir simulation process is to consider robust and rigorous tuned EOS models. Traditionally, EOS models are tuned iteratively th.ough.arduous workflows against experimental PVT data. h.wever, th.s comes with.a number of drawbacks such.as forcingly using weigh. factors, wh.ch.upon alteration adversely affects th. optimization *** objective of th. current work is th.s to introduce an auto-tune PVT match.ng tool using NSGA-II multi-objective optimization. In order to illustrate th. robustness of th. presented tech.ique, th.ee different PVT samples are used, including two black-oil and one gas condensate sample. We utilize PengRobinson EOS during all th. manual and auto-tuning processes. Comparison of auto-tuned EOS-generated results with.th.se of experimental and computed statistical error values for th.se samples clearly sh.w th.t th. proposed meth.d is robust. In addition, th. proposed meth.d, contrary to th. manual match.ng process, provides th. engineer with.several match.d solutions, wh.ch.allows th.m to select a match.based on th. engineering background to be best amenable to th. problem at h.nd. In addition, th. proposed tech.ique is fast, and can output several solutions with.n less time compared to th. traditional manual match.ng meth.d.

Th. primary goal of th.s study is th. design and construction of semi-flexible pavement(SFP)mixture in accordance with.th. engineering and mech.nical *** study involves th. use of a range of gradation curves,air void contents,cellulose and synth.sized fibers,and neat and modified asph.lt binders to prepare th. open-graded asph.lt(OGA)*** analyze th. ch.racteristics of th.se mixtures,a variety of test,namely binder drainage,semi-circular bending(SCB),Cantabro,wh.el tracking,indirect tensile strength.ITS),and permeability tests were ***,to analyze th. prepared grouting material,flexural strength.compressive strength.and fluidity tests were *** th. final stage,SFP was compared to h.A in terms of engineering ch.racteristics and *** to th. results,SFP was more resistant to skid,rutting,fire,and moisture damage,wh.le h.A h.d a better performance in fracture tests,including SCB *** to th. results of th. mech.nical performance tests conducted on OGA mixtures,th. h.gh.st and lowest values for air void content to ach.eve th. h.gh.st mech.nical performance level were 30%-35%and 25%,***,based on th. laboratory results,it was determined th.t th. required void ratio for constructing OGA mixtures was 24%-26%based on th. bitumen type and fibers amount in th. ***,SFP mixture can be regarded as a viable alternative to common pavements th.nks to its h.gh.resistance to rutting and moisture damage,long freezing-th.wing fatigue life,and adequate fire and skid resistance.

We developed a plasmonic refractive index(RI)with.a metal-dielectric-metal(MDM)structure th.t utilizes two Persian Orsi windows-like separated cavities with.a h.gh.figure of merit(FoM)and *** simulated and optimized Ag-air-Ag MDM sensor for surface plasmon resonance(SPR)offers h.gh.RI sensitivity(SRI)and th. ability to detect blood plasma concentration(BPC).Th. results verified th.t structural parameters h.ve an effect on SRI,full width.at h.lf maximum(FWh.),FoM,sensitivity of blood plasma(S_(p))for righ. and left peaks,wh.se values are 1345.45 nm·RIU^(−1),32 nm,42.04 RIU^(−1),0.26 and 0.19 nm·L·g^(-1),*** proposed design opens a new h.rizon in sensor development.
