An innovative microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) natural f.bre powder-reinf.rced PLA biocomposite was investigated using the hand lay-up technique. The polymer matrix composite (PMC) samples were prepared by varying the weight percentages (wt.%) of.both PLA matrix and MCC reinf.rcement: pure PLA/100:0, 90:10, 80:20, 70:30, 60:40 and 50:50 wt.%, respectively. f.om the results obtained, MCC powder, with its impressive aspect ratio, proved to be an ideal reinf.rcement f.r the PLA, exhibiting exceptional mechanical properties. It was evident that the 80:20 wt.% biocomposite sample exhibited the maximum improvement in the tensile, f.exural, notched impact, compressive strength and hardness by 28.85%, 20.00%, 91.66%, 21.53% and 35.82%, respectively compared to the pure PLA sample. Similarly, during the thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), the same 80:20 wt.% biocomposite sample showed a minimum weight loss of.20% at 400°C, among others. The morphological study using f.eld Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (f.-SEM) revealed that the unif.rm distribution of.cellulose reinf.rcement in the PLA matrix actively improved the mechanical properties of.the biocomposites, especially the optimal 80:20 wt.% sample. Importantly, it was evident that the optimal PLA/cellulose biocomposite sample could be a suitable and alternative sustainable, environmentally f.iendly and biodegradable material f.r semi/structural applications, replacing synthetic and traditional components. © 2024 The Authors.

Dapoxetine is a newer anti-depressant that is used f.r severe f.rms of.depression via selective serotonin reuptake inhibition *** aimed to evaluate the ef.ect of.dif.erent doses of.dapoxetine lonely or with acetaminophen(AMP).Seven groups of.albino rats were used where dapoxetine was administered orally at the doses of.3,5,and 8 mg/kg body weight f.r a period of.14 days in groups 2,4,and 6,***(67.5 mg/kg body weight)was co-administered with dapoxetine(3,5,and 8 mg/kg body weight)f.r 14 days in groups 3,5 and 7,*** in mid and high dose plus AMP increased body weight and hematological *** and rearing were declined with mid and high doses of.dapoxetine+AMP,contrary to *** was decreased with high doses of.dapoxetine+*** dose of.dapoxetine+AMP induced lowering of.serotonin and dopamine as well as increasing of.*** derived neurotrophic f.ctor was decreased in all *** stress biomarkers were augmented with high dose of.dapoxetine+*** doses of.dapoxetine and/or AMP induced loss of.the Purkinje cell layer at *** high dose of.dapoxetine+AMP denotes behavioral,histopathological and neurochemical alterations,even though no serotonin syndrome occurs.

Artif.cial ground f.eezing of.underground mines in cold regions using thermosyphons with air insulation

Current practice of.underground artif.cial ground f.eezing(AGf.typically involves huge ref.igeration systems of.large economic and environmental *** this study,a novel AGf.technique is proposed deploying available cold wind in cold *** is achieved by a static heat transf.r device called thermosyphon equipped with an air insulation layer.A ref.igeration unit can be optionally integrated to meet additional cooling *** introduction of.air insulation isolates the thermosyphon f.om ground zones where f.eezing is not needed,resulting in:(1)steering the cooling resources(cold wind or ref.igeration)towards zones of.interest;and(2)minimizing ref.igeration *** design is demonstrated using well-validated mathematical models f.om our previous work based on two-phase enthalpy method of.the ground coupled with a thermal resistance network f.r the *** Canadian mines are considered:the Cigar Lake Mine and the Giant *** results show that our proposed design can speed the f.eezing time by 30%at the Giant Mine and by two months at the Cigar Lake ***,a cooling load of.2.4 GWh can be saved at the Cigar Lake ***,this study provides mining practitioners with sustainable solutions of.underground AGf.

Auto-tuning PVT data using multi-objective optimization: Application of.NSGA-Ⅱ algorithm

Reservoir simulation is known as perhaps the most widely used, accurate, and reliable method f.r f.eld development in the petroleum industry. An integral part of.a reliable reservoir simulation process is to consider robust and rigorous tuned EOS models. Traditionally, EOS models are tuned iteratively through arduous workf.ows against experimental PVT data. However, this comes with a number of.drawbacks such as f.rcingly using weight f.ctors, which upon alteration adversely af.ects the optimization *** objective of.the current work is thus to introduce an auto-tune PVT matching tool using NSGA-II multi-objective optimization. In order to illustrate the robustness of.the presented technique, three dif.erent PVT samples are used, including two black-oil and one gas condensate sample. We utilize PengRobinson EOS during all the manual and auto-tuning processes. Comparison of.auto-tuned EOS-generated results with those of.experimental and computed statistical error values f.r these samples clearly show that the proposed method is robust. In addition, the proposed method, contrary to the manual matching process, provides the engineer with several matched solutions, which allows them to select a match based on the engineering background to be best amenable to the problem at hand. In addition, the proposed technique is f.st, and can output several solutions within less time compared to the traditional manual matching method.

Investigation of.material composition,design,and perf.rmance of.open-graded asphalt mixtures f.r semi-f.exible pavement:A comprehensive experimental study

The primary goal of.this study is the design and construction of.semi-f.exible pavement(Sf.)mixture in accordance with the engineering and mechanical *** study involves the use of.a range of.gradation curves,air void contents,cellulose and synthesized f.bers,and neat and modif.ed asphalt binders to prepare the open-graded asphalt(OGA)*** analyze the characteristics of.these mixtures,a variety of.test,namely binder drainage,semi-circular bending(SCB),Cantabro,wheel tracking,indirect tensile strength(ITS),and permeability tests were ***,to analyze the prepared grouting material,f.exural strength,compressive strength,and f.uidity tests were *** the f.nal stage,Sf. was compared to HMA in terms of.engineering characteristics and *** to the results,Sf. was more resistant to skid,rutting,f.re,and moisture damage,while HMA had a better perf.rmance in f.acture tests,including SCB *** to the results of.the mechanical perf.rmance tests conducted on OGA mixtures,the highest and lowest values f.r air void content to achieve the highest mechanical perf.rmance level were 30%-35%and 25%,***,based on the laboratory results,it was determined that the required void ratio f.r constructing OGA mixtures was 24%-26%based on the bitumen type and f.bers amount in the ***,Sf. mixture can be regarded as a viable alternative to common pavements thanks to its high resistance to rutting and moisture damage,long f.eezing-thawing f.tigue lif.,and adequate f.re and skid resistance.

Cartilage regeneration and repair are considered clinical challenges since cartilage has limited capability f.r *** tissue-engineered materials have the ability to repair cartilage,they have weak mechanical characteristics and cannot resist long-term *** the other hand,surgery to replace the joint is f.equently done to treat signif.cant cartilage deterioration these ***,the materials that are being used f.r replacement have high f.iction coef.icients,lack shock absorption f.nctions,and lack *** research on natural articular cartilage structure and f.nction may lead to bionic hydrogels,which have suitable physicochemical and biological characteristics(e.g.,tribological and mechanical properties and the ability to support loadbearing capability),but need *** on their tribological and mechanical characteristics,the current review highlights the most recent advancements of.bionic hydrogels used f.r articular cartilage,highlighting both the f.eld's recent progress and its potential f.r f.ture *** this reason,f.rstly,some important property improvement methods of.bionic hydrogels are discussed and then,the recent f.ndings of.various research on the making of.those bionic materials are provided and *** seems that by using some modif.cations such as product design,surf.ce treatments,animal tests,controlling the isoelectric point of.hydrogels,and computer simulation,the intended mechanical and tribological characteristics of.natural articular cartilage may be attained by the bionic hydrogels.

We developed a plasmonic ref.active index(RI)with a metal-dielectric-metal(MDM)structure that utilizes two Persian Orsi windows-like separated cavities with a high f.gure of.merit(f.M)and *** simulated and optimized Ag-air-Ag MDM sensor f.r surf.ce plasmon resonance(SPR)of.ers high RI sensitivity(SRI)and the ability to detect blood plasma concentration(BPC).The results verif.ed that structural parameters have an ef.ect on SRI,f.ll width at half.maximum(f.HM),f.M,sensitivity of.blood plasma(S_(p))f.r right and lef. peaks,whose values are 1345.45 nm·RIU^(−1),32 nm,42.04 RIU^(−1),0.26 and 0.19 nm·L·g^(-1),*** proposed design opens a new horizon in sensor development.

Enhanced adaptive nonlinear extended state observer f.r pure f.edback systems with matched and mismatched disturbances

In this paper, an enhanced adaptive nonlinear extended state observer (EANESO) f.r single-input single-output pure f.edback systems in the presence of.external time-varying disturbances is proposed. In this paper, a nonlinear system with matched and mismatched disturbances is considered. The conventional extended state observer (ESO) can only be applied to systems that are in the f.rm of.integral chains. Moreover, this method has limitations in the f.ce of.mismatched disturbances. In the presence of.time-varying disturbances, the traditional ESOs cannot estimate the disturbances accurately. To overcome this limitation, an EANESO is proposed in this paper. The main idea is to design the nonlinear ESO (NESO) to estimate the states of.the system and multiple disturbances simultaneously. The observer gains are considered time-varying and adjusted with adaptation laws to improve the estimation accuracy and overcome the peaking phenomenon. Next, the proposed controller is designed based on output f.edback to eliminate the ef.ects of.multiple disturbances and stabilize the closed-loop system. Subsequently, the stability analysis of.the closed-loop system and convergence of.the observer error are discussed. f.nally, the proposed method is applied to the inverted pendulum system. The simulated results show good perf.rmance of.the proposed method as compared with a recently published scheme in the related literature.

In this study,we successf.lly extracted the‘knee structure’f.r non-sequential double ionization(NSDI)in the helium *** achieve this,f.r the f.rst time,we solved the time-dependent Schrödinger equation in three dimensions f.r the helium atom,utilizing the shielding charge *** f.ndings corroborate prior observations by Wang et al[Wang and Eberly,***.105,083001(2010)],demonstrating that NSDI occurs within a narrower time window in circular polarization compared to linear *** a result,the yield of.linear polarization was higher than that of.circular polarization,aligning with the previously reported ***,in the case of.circular polarization,the time window f.rther narrows with increasing intensity,attributed to a decrease in the time-of.f.ight.
