Electrical trees are an aging mechanismmost associated with partial discharge(PD)activities in crosslinked polyethylene(XLPE)insulation of high-voltage(HV)*** of electrical tree structures gained considerable attention from researchers since a deep understanding of the tree morphology is required to develop new insulation ***-dimensional(2D)optical microscopy is primarily used to examine tree structures and propagation shapes with image segmentation ***,since electrical trees can emerge in different shapes such as bush-type or branch-type,treeing images are complicated to segment due to manifestation of convoluted tree branches,leading to a high misclassification rate during ***,this study proposed a new method for segmenting 2D electrical tree images based on the multi-scale line tracking algorithm(MSLTA)by integrating batch processing *** proposed method,h-MSLTA aims to provide accurate segmentation of electrical tree images obtained over a period of tree propagation observation under optical *** initial phase involves XLPE sample preparation and treeing image acquisition under real-time microscopy *** treeing images are then sampled and binarized in *** the next phase,segmentation of tree structures is performed using the h-MSLTA by utilizing batch processing in multiple instances of treeing ***,the comparative investigation has been conducted using standard performance assessment metrics,including accuracy,sensitivity,specificity,Dice coefficient and Matthew’s correlation coefficient(MCC).Based on segmentation performance evaluation against several established segmentation methods,h-MSLTA achieved better results of 95.43%accuracy,97.28%specificity,69.43%sensitivity rate with 23.38%and 24.16%average improvement in Dice coefficient and MCC score respectively over the original *** addition,h-MSLTA produced accurate measurement results of glo

Identification of thermal front dynamics in the northern Malacca Strait using ROMS 3D-model

The thermal front in the oceanic system is believed to have a significant effect on biological *** an era of climate change,changes in heat regulation between the atmosphere and oceanic interior can alter the characteristics of this important *** the simulation results of the 3D Regional Ocean Modelling System(ROMS),we identified the location of thermal fronts and determined their dynamic variability in the area between the southern Andaman Sea and northern Malacca *** Single Image Edge Detection(SIED)algorithm was used to detect the thermal front from model-derived *** show that a thermal front occurred every year from 2002 to 2012 with the temperature gradient at the location of the front was 0.3°C/*** to the years affected by El Ni?o and negative Indian Ocean Dipole(IOD),the normal years(e.g.,May 2003)show the presence of the thermal front at every selected depth(10,25,50,and 75 m),whereas El Ni?o and negative IOD during 2010 show the presence of the thermal front only at depth of 75 m due to greater warming,leading to the thermocline deepening and enhanced *** May 2003,the thermal front was separated by cooler SST in the southern Andaman Sea and warmer SST in the northern Malacca *** higher SST in the northern Malacca Strait was believed due to the besieged Malacca Strait,which trapped the heat and make it difficult to release while higher chlorophyll a in Malacca Strait is due to the freshwater conduit from nearby rivers(Klang,Langat,Perak,and Selangor).Furthermore,compared to the southern Andaman Sea,the chlorophyll a in the northern Malacca Strait is easier to reach the surface area due to the shallower thermocline,which allows nutrients in the area to reach the surface faster.

Tropical peat comprises decomposed dead plant material and acts like a sponge to absorb water,making it fully ***,drought periods dry it readily and increases its vulnerability to *** fires emit greenhouse gases and particles contributing to haze,and prevention by constructing fire-break canals to reduce fire spread into forest reserves is *** paper aims to determine peat physical and chemical properties near a fire-break canal at different fire frequency *** sampling was conducted at two forest reserves in Malaysia which represent low fire frequency and high fire frequency *** results show that peat properties were not affected by the construction of a fire-break canal,however lignin and cellulose content increased significantly from the distance of the canal in both *** study concluded that fire frequency did not significantly influence peat properties except for *** higher fibre content in the high frequency area did not influence moisture content nor the ability to regain ***,fire frequency might contribute differently to changes in physical and chemical properties,hence management efforts to construct fire-break canals and restoration efforts should protect peatlands from further *** findings will benefit future management and planning for forest reserves.

研究目的:分析儿童的移动动作技能与其他四种运动技能(姿势控制、实物操作、抓握和视觉运动整合)之间的相关性。研究对象:研究参与者是从中国成都儿童运动能力中心随机招募的343名3-6岁儿童。研究方法:Peabody Developmental Motor Scale-2 (PDMS-2)用于评估参与者动作技能。应用推论统计的相关性来分析移动动作技能与其他各类动作技能之间的相关性。使用Pearson相关分析(p<0.001)来显示相关水平。研究结果:3-6岁儿童的移动动作技能与姿势控制技能之间存在强相关性,与物实物操作技能具有中等相关性,与抓握技能具有中等的相关性,与视觉运动整合技能有强相关性。研究结论:3-6岁儿童的移动动作技能与其他四类动作技能之间存在中等或以上强度的相关性。未来的动作技能干预项目等研究应考虑将姿势控制、抓握和视觉运动整合等动作技能技能纳入动作技能干预计划的内容设计中,以最大限度地提高幼儿干预的有效性和全面性。持续优化促进动作技能发展的综合方法将为幼儿的运动表现和整体健康带来更加积极的促进作用。

背景和问题陈述:许多研究表明,3-6岁学龄前儿童的运动技能发展与儿童的体育锻炼和体适能之间存在明显的相关性。那么,7-8岁学龄儿童的体能与运动技能发展之间是否存在一致的相关性呢?7-8岁儿童的体重指数、肺活量、肌肉力量、平衡和稳定性及其功能动作之间的相关性尚不明确,需要进一步分析和研究。研究目的:本研究是一项系列研究,首先调查了7-8岁儿童的体适能水平与FMS功能动作表现之间的相关性。儿童体质的主要指标包括体重指数、肺活量、闭眼单脚站立平衡和握力。功能性动作筛查(Function Movement Screen-FMS)是指20世纪90年代由格雷-库克和李-伯顿在物理治疗中设计的七个动作。本研究将验证它们之间的相关性。研究设计:本研究选取了100名7-8岁的儿童(50名男孩和50名女孩)进行体适能测试和FMS功能动作筛选测试。体质测试标准以《国家体质测定标准手册-学生部分》为数据采集标准。FMS数据收集依据评分标准。采用皮尔逊相关分析法对体质指标和FMS进行相关分析。研究结果:从分析结果可以看出,7-8岁男生体适能优于女生,女生FMS功能性动作表现优于男生。体重指数BMI与FMS功能动作表现之间存在显著相关性(P=0.008<0.01)。闭眼单脚站立平衡与FMS存在明显相关性(P=0.007<0.01)。男孩和女孩的手握力与FMS功能动作表现之间没有明显的正相关。肺活量指数与FMS功能动作表现之间不存在明显相关性。研究结论:这些研究结果表明,在对7-8岁及以上儿童进行体适能训练时,必须考虑性别差异以及体适能与功能性动作表现之间的相关性。此外,加强功能性动作表现和促进运动技能的学习应成为体适能训练的重点。这些研究结果也可为家长、教师和学校人员设计有针对性的体育教育和运动训练内容提供指导。

Objective:To determine the morphological and molecular characterization of Acanthamoeba isolates from contact lens paraphernalia in Malaysia and to investigate their pathogenic potential based on the physiological ***:One hundred and eighty contact lens wearers donated their contact lens,lens storage cases and lens solutions between2018 and *** samples were inoculated onto 1.5%nonnutrient agar plates for 14 *** chain reaction(PCR)was performed and the amplified PCR products were sequenced and compared with the published sequences in *** pathogenic potential of positive isolates was further tested using temperature-tolerance and osmo-tolerance *** species were categorized into three distinct morphological groups established by Pussard and ***:Acanthamoeba was successfully isolated from 14(7.8%)culture-positive samples in which 11 belong to morphological groupⅡand 3 belong to morphological groupⅢ,*** sequencing of 18 S ribosomal RNA gene led to the identification of the T4 genotype in all the isolated *** vitro assays revealed that 9(64.3%)Acanthamoeba isolates were able to grow at 42℃and 1 M mannitol and were thus considered to be highly ***:To the best of our knowledge,this is the first report identifying the Acanthamoeba genotype and their pathogenic potential among contact lens wearers in *** potentially pathogenic T4 genotype isolated in this study is the most predominant genotype responsible for human ocular infection ***,increasing attention should be aimed at the prevention of contamination by Acanthamoeba and the disinfection of contact lens paraphernalia.

Faecal sterols as sewage markers in the Langat River,Malaysia:Integration of biomarker and multivariate statistical approaches

The Langat River in Malaysia has been experiencing anthropogenic input from urban, rural and industrial activities for many years. Sewage contamination, possibly originating from the greater than three million inhabitants of the Langat River Basin, were examined. Sediment samples from 22 stations （SL01-SL22） along the Langat River were collected, extracted and analysed by GC-MS. Six different sterols were identified and quantified. The highest sterol concentration was found at station SL02 （618.29 ng/g dry weight）, which situated in the Balak River whereas the other sediment samples ranged between 11.60 and 446.52 ng/g dry weight. Sterol ratios were used to identify sources, occurrence and partitioning of faecal matter in sediments and majority of the ratios clearly demonstrated that sewage contamination was occurring at most stations in the Langat River. A multivariate statistical analysis was used in conjunction with a combination of biomarkers to better understand the data that clearly separated the compounds. Most sediments of the Langat River were found to contain low to mid-range sewage contamination with some containing ＇significant＇ levels of contamination. This is the first report on sewage pollution in the Langat River based on a combination of biomarker and multivariate statistical approaches that will establish a new standard for sewage detection using faecal sterols.

Evolution of specific RNA aptamers via SELEX targeting recombinant human CD36 protein:A candidate therapeutic target in severe malaria

Objective:To isolate and characterize RNA aptamers that are specific to human CD36 protein using systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment(SELEX)technology to identify candidates for adjunct therapy to reverse the binding of Plasmodiuminfected ***:RNA aptamers were isolated using nitrocellulose membrane-based SELEX and binding analysis was screened using an electrophoretic mobility shift assay and enzyme-linked oligonucleotide ***:Thirteen cycles of nitrocellulose membrane-based SELEX yielded three aptamers(RC60,RC25,RC04)exhibiting high binding against CD36 protein as shown on electrophoretic mobility shift *** sequence analysis revealed a G-quadruplex sequence within all the isolated aptamers that might contribute to aptamer binding and thermodynamic *** specificity assay further showed that RC60 and RC25 were highly specific to *** competitive inhibition assay demonstrated that RC60 and RC25 shared a similar binding epitope recognized by m Ab FA6-152,a specific monoclonal antibody against ***:RC60 and RC25 are promising candidates as anticytoadherence for severe malaria adjunct therapy.

Magnesium-based biomaterials have recently gained great attention as promising candidates for the new generation of biodegradable *** study investigated the mechanical performance and biodegradation behaviour of magnesium-zinc/hydroxyapatite(Mg-Zn/HA)composites fabricated by different powder mixing techniques.A single step mixing process involved mechanical alloying or mechanical milling techniques,while double step processing involved a combination of both mechanical alloying and mechanical *** mechanical properties of the composite were observed when the powders were prepared using single step processing via mechanical alloying ***,Mg-Zn/HA composite fabricated through single step processing via mechanical milling technique was found to have the most desirable low degradation rate coupled with highest *** composite achieved the lowest degradation rate of 0.039×10^−3 mm/year as measured by immersion test and 0.0230 mm/year as measured by electrochemical ***:P ratio of the composite also slightly more than enough to aid the initial bone mineralization,that is 1:1.76,as the required Ca:P ratio for initial bone mineralization is between 1:1 and 1:1.67.
