Resilient network infrastructure is pivotal for business entities that are growing reliance on the *** Denial-of-Service(DDOS)is a common network threat that collectively overwhelms and exhausts network resources using coordinated botnets to interrupt access to network services,devices,and *** is typically deployed to detect DDOS based on Snort *** being fairly accurate,IDS operates on a computeintensive packet inspection technique and lacks ***,SNMP is a comparably lightweight countermeasure for fast ***,this SNMP trigger is often circumvented if the DDOS burst rate is coordinated to flood the network smaller than theSNMPpolling ***,SNMP does not scale well if the poll rate is set extremely fine for improved detection *** this paper,a lightweight 3D SNMP scaling method is proposed to optimize the SNMP poll rate forDDOSmitigation *** 3D-SNMP uses horizontal scaling to dynamically adjust the optimal poll rate through random packet inspection that is *** a sign of DDOS is detected,3D-SNMP scales down the poll rate for finer *** DDOS subsides,3D-SNMP scales the poll rate up for faster DDOS *** equilibrium between scalability and accuracy is determined on the fly depending on the types of DDOS variants.3D-SNMP also adds a vertical scaling to detect non-salient DDOS that falls below the detection *** experimental results showed that 3D-SNMP achieved DDOS detection of 92%while remaining scalable to different DDOS variants and volumes.

Despite considerable research underscoring the importance of carbohydrate intake in relation to the risk of type 2 diabetes(T2D), a comprehensive assessment of this relationship is currently lacking. We aimed to examine the associations of various types and food sources of dietary carbohydrate intake with the risk of T2D, to evaluate potential effect modification by other factors, including genetic susceptibility,and to explore the potential mediators for such associations. The present study included 161,872 participants of the UK Biobank who were free of prevalent cancer, cardiovascular disease, or diabetes, and had at least one validated 24-h dietary recall assessment. Multivariableadjusted age-stratified Cox proportional hazard regression models were applied to estimate hazard ratios(HRs) and 95% confidence intervals(CI) for the associations of various types and food sources of dietary carbohydrate intake with risk of T2D. During a median follow-up of13.6 years, 4,176 incident cases of T2D were identified. In the multivariable-adjusted models, a greater intake of fiber, carbohydrates from whole grains, and carbohydrates from non-starchy vegetables was significantly associated with a lower risk of T2D(highest vs. lowest quantile, HR [95% CI]=0.70 [0.62–0.79], 0.74 [0.67–0.82], and 0.83 [0.75–0.92], respectively, all P for trend <0.005). In contrast, a higher intake of starch and carbohydrate from starchy vegetables was associated with an increased risk of T2D(highest vs. lowest quantile, HR [95%CI]=1.31 [1.16–1.48] and 1.19 [1.09–1.31], respectively, both P for trend <0.005). Replacing one serving of refined grains or starchy vegetables with an equal amount of whole grains or non-starchy vegetables was associated with 4% to 10% lower risk of T2D(all P values <0.001).The observed associations were generally similar across population subgroups, including individuals with different genetic susceptibility to T2D. In this paper, firstly, a basic nonlinear magnetic network model considering iron saturations is proposed for a three-phase 12-stator-slot/10-rotor-pole flux-switching permanent magnet(FSPM) machine. This model is built under cylindrical coordinates and enables the open-circuit air-gap flux-density distributions, phase permanent magnet(PM) flux-linkage, and electromotive-force(EMF) to be predicted with acceptable accuracy. However, large discrepancies are found in the predictions of armature inductances. Then, the basic model is modified by taking into account the localized saturation effect. As a result, the electromagnetic performance can be predicted more accurately, especially for the air-gap flux-density distributions. Furthermore, two improved models are proposed by adding bypass-bridge branches in stator network, to enhance the calculating accuracy of both saturated and unsaturated armature inductances. Finally, the predicted results from the four magnetic network models are validated by both 2D finite element analysis(FEA) and experimental measurements on a machine prototype. Overall, comparisons indicate that the model with bypass-bridge branches between stator teeth and back irons exhibits best performances.

The rapid evolution of the Internet has been appealing for effective recommender systems to pinpoint useful information from online resources. Although historical rating data has been widely used as the most important information in recommendation methods, recent advancements have been demonstrating the improvement in recommendation performance with the incorporation of tag information. Furthermore, the availability of tag annotations has been well addressed by such fruitful online social tagging applications as CiteULike, MovieLens and BibSonomy, which allow users to express their preferences, upload resources and assign their own tags. Nevertheless, most existing tag-aware recommendation approaches model relationships among users, objects and tags using a tripartite graph, and hence overlook relationships within the same types of nodes. To overcome this limitation, we propose a novel approach, Trinity, to integrate historical data and tag information towards personalised recommendation. Trinity constructs a three-layered object-user-tag network that considers not only interconnections between different types of nodes but also relationships within the same types of nodes. Based on this heterogeneous network, Trinity adopts a random walk with restart model to assign the strength of associations to candidate objects, thereby providing a means of prioritizing the objects for a query user. We validate our approach via a series of large-scale 10-fold cross-validation experiments and evaluate its performance using three comprehensive criteria. Results show that our method outperforms several existing methods, including supervised random walk with restart, simulation of resource allocating processes, and traditional collaborative filtering.

A bulk power system is conventionally characterized by a complex structure with a large number of components. Each component generally has a different contribution to the transmission congestion(TC) of a system. Thus, a TC sharing method that can be used to evaluate the contribution of each component to the system TC and recognize the weak parts from the perspective of TC should be built. This paper presents a transmission congestion tracing(TCT) principle based on the failed component sharing principle and proportional sharing principle and a TCT model using the Monte Carlo simulation method. Case studies on the IEEE Reliability Test System indicate that the proposed method is effective and feasible.

Silicon photonics has provided a platform for the convergency of photonic devices and electronic circuits, facilitating the development of optical telecommunications and optical interconnects on chip[1]. As the basic building block of optical communication systems, electro-optic tuning is expected to be more compact, high bandwidth, energy efficient, and allow for CMOS-compatible fabrication in the future[2]. Resonator-based electro-optic tuning has attracted more and more interest due to the small footprint, enhanced light-matter interactions and high energy efficiency. Compared with microring and microdisk resonators, photonic crystal nanobeam cavities （PCNBCs） realize higher quality factors, stronger light-matter interactions, ultrasmall mode volume and a much larger free spectral range （FSR）[3].
