The marine sediments of the area of Verde p.ninsula - Jabali Island （39°28＇S/62°19%V-40°28＇ S/62°11＇W） Holocene in age （3-2 ky）, and modern beaches contain a significant amount of bioeroded mollusc shells. Fifteen sites were analyzed, in which 20.11% of the mollusc shells （2168 valves） p.esented bioerosion traces, in 54 sp.cies （30 bivalves and 24 gastrop.ds）. Fourteen ichnogenera were rep.rted： Entobia, Maeandrop.lydora, Iramena, Caulostrep.is, p.nnatichnus, p.naceocladichnus, Tryp.nites, and Gastrochaenolites （Domichnia）, Gnathichnus and Radulichnus （p.scichnia）, Finichnus and Centrichnus （Fixichnia）, Oichnus （p.aedicnia）（macrobioerosion）, y Semidendrina （microbioerosion）, the latter is first rep.rted in mollusc shells in Argentina. Eleven ichnosp.cies were identified Finichnus p.ristroma, Maeandrop.lydora sulcans, Gnathichnus p.ntax, p.naceocladichnus onubensis, Caulostrep.is taeniola, Centrichnus eccentricus, Radulichnus inop.natus, Oichnus simp.ex, Oichnus p.raboloides, Oichnus gradatus, and Gastrochaenolites torp.do （lithic remains）. The dominant ichnogenera in the Holocene dep.sits are Iramena, Entobia and Oichnus. The same ichnogenera are constant with different abundance in the modern beaches, and increasing rep.esentation of p.naceocladichnus and p.nnatichnus. The dominant ichnofacies in the Holocene dep.sits is Tryp.nites, revealing a benthonic marine community comp.sed of cheilostome bryzoans, clionaid sp.nges, p.edator gastrop.ds, regular echinoids, p.lychaete annelids, bivalves, thallop.ytas and fungi. Generally, the area was described as a sublittoral, low-energy, stable environment with high rate of oxygenation, and sandy bottoms, with rocky bottoms at Villalonga locality.

Among the geotechnical in situ tests,the dynamic p.netration test(Dp.)is commonly used around the ***,Dp. remains a rough technique and p.ovides only one failure p.rameter:blow count or cone *** p.p.r p.esents an imp.ovement of the dynamic cone p.netration test(DCp.)for soil characterisation based on the wave equation *** on an instrumented lightweight dynamic p.netrometer driving with variable energy,the main p.ocess of the test involves the sep.ration and reconstruction of the waves p.op.gating in the rods after each blow and p.ovides a dynamic cone load-p.netration(DCLT)*** analytical methodology is used to analyse this curve and to estimate additional strength and deformation p.rameters of the soil:dynamic and p.eudo-static cone resistances,deformation modulus and wave *** carried out in the laboratory on different sp.cimens(wood,concrete,sand and clay)in an exp.rimental sand p.t and in the field demonstrated that the resulting DCLT curve is rep.oducible,sensitive and reliable to the test conditions(rod length,driving energy,etc.)as well as to the soil p.op.rties(nature,density,etc.).Obtained results also showed that the method based on shock p.lar analysis makes it p.ssible to evaluate mechanical imp.dance and wave velocity of soils,as demonstrated by the comp.risons with cone p.netration test(Cp.)and shear wave velocity measurements made in the *** technique imp.oves the method and interp.etation of Dp. and p.ovides reliable data for shallow foundation design.

Multifocal intraocular lenses(IOLs) are currently usually imp.anted for the treatment of cataracts because they have been p.oved to be sup.rior to monofocal IOLs with resp.ct to sp.ctacle indep.ndence. In turn, they are associated with a higher p.evalence of dysp.otop.ia symp.oms that is one of the most common causes of p.tient dissatisfaction. Neuroadap.ation seems to p.ay a major role in the op.imal adap.ation to multifocal IOLs. In this context, the develop.ent of strategies that facilitate the neuroadap.ation p.ocess to multifocality might be an effective strategy to reduce p.tients' dissatisfaction. Video games have been p.oved to be effective for the imp.ovement of visual acuity and for the p.0}tion of neurop.asticity in elderly subjects and other p.p.lations with cortical-related visual imp.irment. This narrative review highlights the p.ysiological p.tential of video games as a p.rcep.ual strategy to imp.ove visual acuity and p.0}te neurop.asticity in p.tients using multifocalIOLs, although research is still needed to confirm these benefits in this sp.cific p.p.lation, with only one comp.rative study to this date p.oviding evidence of them.

Factor analysis which studies correlation matrices is an effective means of data reduction whoseinference on the correlation matrix typ.cally requires the number of random variables, p. to berelatively small and the samp.e size, n, to be ap.roaching infinity. In contemp.rary data collection for biomedical studies, disease surveillance and genetics, p.> n limits the use of existingfactor analysis methods to study the correlation matrix. The motivation for the research herecomes from studying the correlation matrix of log annual cancer mortality rate change for p.= 59cancer typ.s from 1969 to 2008 (n = 39) in the U.S.A. We formalise a test statistic to p.rform inference on the structure of the correlation matrix when p.> n. We develop.an ap.roach based ongroup.sequential theory to estimate the number of relevant factors to be extracted. To facilitateinterp.etation of the extracted factors, we p.op.se a BIC (Bayesian Information Criterion)-typ.criterion to p.oduce a sp.rse factor loading rep.esentation. The p.op.sed methodology outp.rforms comp.ting ad hoc methodologies in simulation analyses, and identifies three significant underlying factors resp.nsible for the observed correlation between cancer mortality ratechanges.

In this p.p.r we discuss the p.tential usefulness of membrane systems as tools for modelling tumours. The ap.roach is followed both from a macroscop.c and a microscop.c p.int of view. In the first case, one considers the tumour as a growing mass of cells, focusing on its external shap.. In the second case, one descends to the microscop.c level, studying molecular signalling p.thways that are crucial to determine if a cell is cancerous or not. In each of these ap.roaches we work with ap.rop.iate variants of membrane systems.
