Background: A 21-day experiment was conducted to test the hypothesis that Ca requirements to maximize growth performance expressed as the standardized total tract digestible(STTD) Ca to STTD P ratio is less than 1.40:1. The second hypothesis was that increasing dietary Ca increases plasma Ca concentration and downregulates abundance of genes related to Ca absorption(TrPV6, S100 G, and ATP2 B1) in the duodenum, and tight junction proteins(OCLN, CLDN1, and ZO1) in the duodenum and ***: Twenty corn-soybean meal diets were formulated using a 4 × 5 factorial design with diets containing 0.16%, 0.33%, 0.42%, or 0.50% STTD P, and 0.14%, 0.29%, 0.44%, 0.59%, or 0.74% STTD Ca. Six hundred and forty pigs(initial weight: 11.1 ± 1.4 kg) were allotted to 20 diets and 5 blocks in a randomized complete block design. On day21, weights of pigs and feed left in feeders were recorded and blood, duodenal tissue, ileal mucosa, and the right femur were collected from 1 pig per pen. Abundance of m rNA was determined in duodenal and ileal tissue via quantitative rT-PCr. Data were analyzed using a response surface ***: The predicted maximum ADG(614 g), G:F(0.65), and bone ash(11.68 g) was obtained at STTD Ca:STTD P ratios of 1.39:1, 1.25:1, and 1.66:1, respectively, when STTD P was provided at the requirement(0.33%). If dietary STTD P was below the requirement, increasing dietary Ca resulted in reduced(P r, if dietary STTD P was above the requirement, negative effects(P reasing STTD Ca were observed only if dietary STTD Ca exceeded 0.6%. Making connections with cell surface auxin signaling

The discovery and characterization of the nuclear AUX-indole-3-acetic acid(IAA)-TIr1/AFB auxin co-receptor complex in the model plant Arabidopsis at the outset of the 21st century was a hallmark event in biological *** decades of subsequent discovery demonstrated the central role of the nuclear auxin perception mechanism in virtually every stage of Viridiplantae *** auxin receptors were also shown to be essential for later stages of differential hypocotyl,coleoptile,and root tropisms,but the most rapid responses were found to persist in Arabidopsis mutants lacking important components of the receptor mechanism(Napier,2021;Peer and murphy,2022).In particular,rapid cellular elongation observed in tropic growth or after experimental application of auxin is mediated by H+extrusion across the plasma membrane(PM).The resulting apoplastic acidification activates extensin proteins that loosen cell walls to allow for turgor-driven cellular *** initial events occur in a time frame that precludes nuclear signaling and now can be clearly attributed to a cell surface auxin co-receptor complex and downstream signaling intermediaries.

Basis for the diversity and extent in loss of digestible nutrients created by dietary phytin: Emphasis on fowl and swine

Phytin is the Ca 2+ -Mg 2+ -K + salt of phytic acid that is created and deposited in the aleurone layer and/or germ of grains and legumes. Its high presence in feedstuffs for fowl and swine diets results in it being a universal and significant impediment to optimum performance. Phytin impairs gastrointestinal recovery of a wide array of nutrients, the effect varying with the nutrient concerned. On exposure to low pH during gastric digestion, phytin dissociates into phytic acid and solubilized Ca 2+ . Even at low gastric pH, phytic acid is negatively charged which forms the basis of its anti-nutritive behavior. Pepsinogen has extensive basic amino acids on its activation peptide that are presented as cations at low pH which are targeted by pepsin for activation. Partially crystalized Ca 2+ near the enzyme's active site further stabilizes its newly formed structure. Thus, phytic acid appears to interfere with gastric digestion by several mechanisms; interfering with pepsinogen activation by binding to the polypeptide's basic amino acids; coordinating free Ca 2+ , destabilizing pepsin; binding some dietary proteins directly, further compromising gastric proteolysis. Upon digesta attaining neutrality in the duodenum, Ca 2+ and other cations re-bind with accessible anions, phytic acid being a significant contender. Phytate not only binds free cations but can also strip them from enzymes (e.g. Ca 2+ , Zn 2+ ) which reduces their structural resistance to autolysis and ability as co-factors (e.g. Zn 2+ ) to increase enzyme activity. Goblet cells initially employ Ca 2+ as an electronic shield between mucin layers enabling granule formation and cell storage. After mucin granule release, Ca 2+ is progressively displaced by Na + to free the viscous mucins enabling its translocation. Mucin entangles with the glycocalyx of adjacent enterocytes thereby constructing the unstirred water layer (USWL). Excessive removal of Ca 2+ from mucin by phytic acid increases its fluidity facilit

A Machine Learning-Based Distributed Denial of Service Detection Approach for Early Warning in Internet Exchange Points

The Internet service provider(ISP)is the heart of any country’s Internet infrastructure and plays an important role in connecting to theWorld *** exchange point(IXP)allows the interconnection of two or more separate network *** Internet traffic entering a country should pass through its ***,it is an ideal location for performing malicious traffic *** denial of service(DDoS)attacks are becoming a more serious daily *** actors in DDoS attacks control numerous infected machines known as *** are used to send numerous fake requests to overwhelm the resources of victims and make them unavailable for some *** date,such attacks present a major devastating security threat on the *** paper proposes an effective and efficient machine learning(ML)-based DDoS detection approach for the early warning and protection of the Saudi Arabia Internet exchange point(SAIXP)*** effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed approach are verified by selecting an accurate ML method with a small number of input features.A chi-square method is used for feature selection because it is easier to compute than other methods,and it does not require any assumption about feature distribution *** ML methods are assessed using holdout and 10-fold tests on a public large-size *** experiments showed that the performance of the decision tree(DT)classifier achieved a high accuracy result(99.98%)with a small number of features(10 features).The experimental results confirmthe applicability of using DT and chi-square for DDoS detection and early warning in SAIXP.
