Invariant natural killer t(iNKt)cells are part of the family of unconventional t cells,and they recognize glycolipid antigens presented on the MHc class I like molecule cD1^([1]).In humans there are five cD1 molecules named cD1a to cD1e,whereas mice use only cD1d for lipid ***,iNKt cells can elicit both cytotoxicity similarly to conventional cD8 t cells and secrete cytokines that influence the adaptive immune response including providing direct t cell help to B cells^([2]).In the context of tumors,they can use both release of granzyme B and use Fas-mediated mechanisms for killing of tumor *** iNKt cells use a restricted tcR repertoire and cD1 molecules are non-heterogenous the risk of graft vs host disease is limited and thus these t cells have been an attractive option for off the shelf immunotherapy to treat cancer^([3]).

the uterus is transiently receptive for embryo implantation. It remains to be understood why the uterus does not reject a semi-allogeneic embryo (to the biological mother) or an allogeneic embryo (to a surrogate) for implantation. to gain insights, we examined uterine early response genes approaching embryo attachment on day 3 post coitum (D3) at 22 hours when blue dye reaction, an indication of embryo attachment, had not manifested in mice. c57BL/6 pseudo-pregnant (control) and pregnant mouse uteri were collected on D3 at 22 hours for microarray analysis. the self-assembling-manifold (SAM) algorithm identified 21,858 unique probesets. Principal component analysis indicated a clear separation between the pseudo-pregnant and pregnant groups. there were 106 upregulated and five downregulated protein-coding genes in the pregnant uterus with fold change (fc) >1.5 andq value tology (GO) analysis of the 106 upregulated genes revealed 38 significant GO biological process (GOBP) terms (P them were associated with immune responses, with a dominant natural killer (NK) cell activation signature. Among the top eight upregulated protein-coding genes,cyp26a1 inactivates retinoic acid (RA) whileLrat promotes vitamin A storage, both of which are expected to attenuate RA bioavailability;Atp6v0d2 andGjb2 play roles in ion transport and transmembrane transport;Gzmb,Gzmc, andIl2rb are involved in immune responses; andtdo2 is important for kynurenine pathway. Most of these genes or their related pathways have functions in immune regulations. RA signaling has been implicated in immune tolerance and immune homeostasis, and uterine NK cells have been implicated in immunotolerance at the maternal-fetal interface in the placenta. the mechanisms of immune responses approaching embryo attachment remain to be elucidated. the coordinated effects of the early response genes may hold the keys to the question of why the uterus does not reject an implanting embryo

the local structure of the metal single-atom site is closely related to the catalytic activity of metal single-atom catalysts(SAcs).However,constructing SAcs with homogeneous metal active sites is a challenge due to the surface heterogeneity of the conventional ***,we prepared two Rh1/ceO_(2)SAcs(0.5Rh1/r-ceO_(2)and 0.5Rh1/c-ceO_(2),respectively)using two shaped ceO_(2)(rod and cube)exposing different facets,i.e.,ceO_(2)(111)and ceO_(2)(100).In cO oxidation reaction,the t100 of 0.5Rh1/r-ceO_(2)SAcs is 120°c,while the t100 of 0.5Rh1/c-ceO_(2)SAcs is as high as 200°*** in-situ cO diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy(cO-DRIFtS),we found that the proximity between OH group and Rh single atom on the plane surface plays an important role in the catalytic activity of Rh1/ceO_(2)SAc system in cO *** Rh single atom trapped at the ceO_(2)(111)crystal surface forms the Rh1(OH)adjacent species,which is not found on the ceO_(2)(100)crystal surface at room ***,during cO oxidation,the OH group far from Rh single atom on the 0.5Rh1/c-ceO_(2)disappears and forms Rh1(OH)adjacent species when the temperature is above 150°*** formation of Rh1(OH)adjacentcO intermediate in the reaction is pivotal for the excellent catalytic activity,which explains the difference in the catalytic activity of Rh single atoms on two different ceO_(2)*** formed Rh1(OH)adjacent-O-ce structure exhibits good stability in the reducing atmosphere,maintaining the Rh atomic dispersion after cO oxidation even when pre-reduced at high temperature of 500°*** functional theory(DFt)calculations validate the unique activity and reaction path of the intermediate Rh1(OH)adjacentcO species *** work demonstrates that the proximity between metal single atom and hydroxyl can determine the formation of active intermediates to affect the catalytic performances in catalysis.

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NADH)is a cofactor that serves to shuttle electrons during metabolic processes such as glycolysis,the tricarboxylic acid cycle,and oxidative phosphorylation(OXPHOS).NADH is autofluorescent,and itsfluorescence lifetime can be used to infer metabolic dynamics in living ***-coupled time-correlated single photon counting(tcSPc)equipped with an implantable needle probe can be used to measure NADH lifetime in vivo,enabling investigation of changing metabolic demand during muscle contraction or tissue *** study illustrates a proof of concept for point-based,minimally-invasive NADHfluorescence lifetime measurement in *** muscle loss(VML)injuries were created in the left tibialis anterior(tA)muscle of male Sprague Dawley *** lifetime measurements were collected before,during,and after a 30 s tetanic contraction in the injured and uninjured tA muscles,which was subsequently-t to a biexponential decay model to yield a metric of NADH utilization(cytoplasmic vs protein-bound NADH,the A11/A22 ratio).On average,this ratio was higher during and after contraction in uninjured muscle compared to muscle at rest,suggesting higher levels of free NADH in contracting and recovering muscle,indicating increased rates of *** injured muscle,this ratio was higher than uninjured muscle overall but decreased over time,which is consistent with current knowledge of inflammatory response to injury,suggesting tissue regeneration has *** data suggest that-ber-coupled tcSPc has the potential to measure changes in NADH binding in vivo in a minimally invasive manner that requires further investigation.

the effects of fly ash on the compressive strength, pore size distribution and chloride-ion penetration of recycled aggregate concrete were investigated. two series of concrete mb：tures were prepared. the concrete mixtures in series I had a water-to-binder ratio and a cement content of 0.55 and 410 kg/ m^3 , respectively. the concrete rnixtures in series II had a water-to-binder ratio and a cement content of 0.45 and 400 kg/ ml respectively. Recycled aggregate was ased as 20% , 50% , and 100% replacements of natural coarse aggregate in the concrete mixtures in both series. In cutdition, fly ash was used as 0% , 25% and 35% by weight replacements of cement. the results show that the compressive strengths of the concrete decreased as the recycled aggregate and the fly ash contents increased. the total porosity and average porosity diameter of the concrete increased us the recycled aggregate content increased. Furtherrruore , an increase in the recycled aggregate content decreased the resistance to chloride ion penetration. Nevertheless, the replacement of cement by 25% fly ush improved the resistance to chloride ion penetration and pore diameters and reduced the total porosity of the recycled aggregate concrete.

the wavefront recording plane （WRP）, subsequently generalized to be known as the virtual diffraction plane （VDP）, is a recent concept that has been successfully deployed in fast generation and processing of digital holograms. In brief, the WRP and its extension, the VDP, is a hypothetical plane that is located between the hologram and the object scene, and which is at close proximity to the latter. As such, the fringe patterns on the hypothetical plane are carrying the holistic information of the hologram, as well as the local optical properties of the object scene. this important property enables a hologram to be processed with classical image processing techniques that are normally unsuitable for handling holographic information. In this paper we shall review a number of works, that have been developed based on the framework of the WRP and the VDP.

Use of Recycled Glass in Architectural Mortars

In recent years,recycled glass has been widely used as aggregate replacements in concrete. Owing to the aesthetic potential of the coloured recycled glass,this research aims to fully utilize this advantage for their higher end uses,such as architectural mortar. In this study,architectural white cement mortar was produced with a self consolidating method using recycled glass as the aggregate. An adequate amount of Metakaolin was incorporated into the mortar to mitigate the adverse effect of alkali-silica reaction. the results show that the self-compacting method is suitable to produce architectural mortar containing up to 100% recycled glass. Overall,the performance of all the architectural mortar mixtures in terms of both fresh and hardened properties was good.

Past research has demonstrated that if the intensity image of an object is uniformly down-sampled and converted into a Fresnel hologram, the phase component alone will be sufficient to reconstruct the source image. However, due to down-sampling, the edge and line patterns are degraded heavily. In this Letter, we propose an enhance- ment on the parent method by incorporating an adaptive down-sampling lattice. A hologram generated with our proposed method, which is referred to as the edge-enhanced sampled phase-only hologram, preserves favorable visual quality on both the shaded regions as well as the edge patterns of the object image.
