Two new transition metal (Cu, Ni) complexes with amino-Schiff base ligand, (C9H7NO3)Cu(C14H12N2)-H2O (1) and (C9H7NO3)Ni(C3H4N2)3-H2O (2), have been designed and synthesized in ethanol solution at room temperature. Both of the complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, UV-vis spectroscopy and X-ray single crystal diffraction. For complex 1, the coordination environment of the central copper atom is a distorted square pyramid, and one-dimensional chain is formed through the inter-molecular hydrogen bonds (O4-H2W···O3, O4-H2W···O3#1 (#1: -x+1, y, -z+3/2)) and weak interactions (π-π stacking interaction) between the phenyl rings. For complex 2, the nickel atom is 6-coordinated and in a distorted octahedral environment, and a discrete hydrogen-bond cluster (four molecules are connected by hydrogen bonds into a group) is formed via two types of intra-molecular hydrogen bonds (O-H···O, N-H···O) and inter-molecular hydrogen bonds (O-H···O, N-H···O).

Optical frequency combs are fundamentally important in precision measurement physics,bringing unprecedented capabilities of measurements for time keeping,metrology,and *** this work,we investigate theoretically the formation of a form of frequency combs in cavity optomagnonics,in which a ferrimagnetic insulator sphere supports optical whispering gallery modes for both light photons and *** simulations of the optomagnonic dynamics show that a robust frequency comb can be obtained at low power under the bichromatic pumping drive,and the comb spacing is ***,the optomagnonic frequency comb structure has abundant non-perturbative features,suggesting that the magnon-induced Brillouin light scattering process in cavity optomagnonics may also exhibit phenomena similar to those in atomic–molecular *** addition to providing insight into optomagnonic nonlinearity,optomagnonic frequency combs may also provide the feasibility of implementing frequency combs based on spintronic platforms and may find applications for precision metrology based on magnonic devices.

This article proposes a new wake oscillator model for vortex induced vibrations of an elastically supported rigid circular cylinder in a uniform current. The near wake dynamics related with the fluctuating nature of vortex shedding is modeled based on the classical van der Pol equation, combined with the equation for the oscillatory motion of the body. An appropriate approach is developed to estimate the empirical parameters in the wake oscillator model. The present predicted results are compared to the experimental data and previous wake oscillator model results. Good agreement with experimental results is found.

Small-Scale Spatial Variability of Soil Nutrients and Vegetation Properties in Semi-Arid Northern China

A field experiment was conducted at Kezuohouqi County, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China, which was located on the southeastern edge of the Horqin Sandy Land, to study the spatial variability of soil nutrients for a smallscale, nutrient-poor, sandy site in a semi-arid region of northern China; to investigate whether or not there were 'islands of fertility' at the experimental site; and to determine the key nutrient elements that sustained ecosystem stability. Results obtained from geostatistical analysis indicated that the spatial distribution pattern of soil total nitrogen (STN) was far different from those of soil organic matter (SOM), total phosphorus (STP), and total potassium (STK). Compared to SOM, STP, and STK, STN had a lower structural heterogeneity ratio and a longer range, while other elements were all similar. In addition, STN had an isotropic spatial structure, whereas the others had an anisotropic spatial structure. The spatial structure patterns of herbage species, cover,and height also differed, indicating that spatial variability was subjected to different ecological factors. Differences in the spatial variability patterns among soil nutrients and vegetation properties showed that soil nutrients for a small-scale were not the primary limiting factors that influenced herbage spatial distribution patterns. Incorporating spatial distribution patterns of tree species, namely, Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica Litv. and shrub Lespedeza bicolor Turcz. in a research plot and using fractal dimension,SOM, STP, and STK were shown to contribute to the 'islands of fertility' phenomenon, however STN was not, possibly meaning that nitrogen was a key limiting element. Therefore, during restoration of similar ecosystems more attention should be given to soil nitrogen.

Patients with bone metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) might benefit from radium-223 (^(223)Ra) combined withnew-generation hormonal agents (NHAs) in terms of survival and quality of life (QoL). However, the safety of combination therapiesremains unclear. Therefore, we aimed to perform a network meta-analysis by reviewing the literature about the combination of^(223)Ra with abiraterone acetate plus prednisone (AAP) or enzalutamide and to evaluate the safety of combination therapy in bonemCRPC patients. Ultimately, ten studies (2835 patients) were selected, including four randomized controlled trials (RCTs), fiveretrospective cohort studies, and one single-arm study. Overall, there was no difference in the incidence of fracture between the^(223)Ra+NHA combination group and the ^(223)Ra monotherapy group (odds ratio [OR]: 1.46, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.91–2.34,P = 0.66), but the incidences in both the ^(223)Ra+NHA combination group (OR: 3.22, 95% CI: 2.24–4.63, P < 0.01) and the ^(223)Ramonotherapy group (OR: 2.24, 95% CI: 1.23–4.08, P < 0.01) were higher than that in the NHA monotherapy group. However, inthe meta-analysis involving only RCTs, there was no difference between the ^(223)Ra monotherapy group and the NHA monotherapygroup (OR: 1.14, 95% CI: 0.22–5.95, P = 0.88), while the difference between the ^(223)Ra+NHA combination group and the NHAmonotherapy group remained significant (OR: 3.22, 95% CI: 2.24–4.63, P < 0.01). Symptomatic skeletal events (SSEs), SSE-freesurvival (SSE-FS), all grades of common adverse events (AEs), and ≥grade 3 AEs among all groups did not show any significantdifference. Our results indicate that the combination of ^(223)Ra with NHAs was well tolerated in bone mCRPC patients compared to ^(223)Ra monotherapy, even though the incidence of fracture was higher in patients who received ^(223)Ra than that among those whoreceived NHA monotherapy. Compared with graphite,the lower sodiation potential and larger discharge capacity of hard carbon(HC)makes it the most promising anode material for sodium-ion *** ether-based electrolyte rather than conventional carbonate-based electrolyte,HC achieves superior electrochemical ***,the mechanism by which ether-based electrolyte improves the properties of HC is still controversial,primarily focusing on whether it forms solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)*** this work,according to the sodium storage mechanisms in HC at low voltage(<0.1 V),including Na^(+)-diglyme co-interaction into the carbon layer(SEI forbidden)and desolvated Na^(+)insertion in the irregular carbon holes(SEI required),the NaPF6concentration in ether-based electrolyte was regulated,so as to construct a discontinuous-SEI on the surface of the HC anode,which significantly enhances the electrochemical performances of ***,with 0.2 M NaPF6ether-based electrolyte,HC deliverers a discharge capacity of 459.7 mA h g^(-1)at 0.1 C and stays at 357.2 mA h g^(-1)after 500 cycles at 1 C,which is substantially higher than that of higher/lower salt concentration electrolytes.

In addition to soil samples, conventional soil maps, and experienced soil surveyors, text about soils(e.g., soil survey reports) is an important potential data source for extracting soil–environment relationships. Considering that the words describing soil–environment relationships are often mixed with unrelated words, the first step is to extract the needed words and organize them in a structured way. This paper applies natural language processing(NLP) techniques to automatically extract and structure information from soil survey reports regarding soil–environment relationships. The method includes two steps:(1) construction of a knowledge frame and(2) information extraction using either a rule-based method or a statistic-based method for different types of information. For uniformly written text information, the rule-based approach was used to extract information. These types of variables include slope, elevation, accumulated temperature, annual mean temperature, annual precipitation, and frost-free period. For information contained in text written in diverse styles, the statistic-based method was adopted. These types of variables include landform and parent material. The soil species of China soil survey reports were selected as the experimental dataset. Precision(P), recall(R), and F1-measure(F1) were used to evaluate the performances of the method. For the rule-based method, the P values were 1, the R values were above 92%, and the F1 values were above 96% for all the involved variables. For the method based on the conditional random fields(CRFs), the P, R and F1 values for the parent material were, respectively, 84.15, 83.13, and 83.64%; the values for landform were 88.33, 76.81, and 82.17%, respectively. To explore the impact of text types on the performance of the CRFs-based method, CRFs models were trained and validated separately by the descriptive texts of soil types and typical profiles.
