Surfactant flooding is one of the common tertiary method to recover remaining oil in the reservoir, byreducing the interfacial tension (IFT) between two immiscible fluids nevertheless, current surfactantforms emulsion and difficult to achieve ultra-low IFT between the water and oil without addition of cosurfactant. In this research, two types of anionic lignosulphonate-based surfactants, Sodium Lignosulphonate (SLS) and Calcium Lignosulphonate (CLS) are chosen as co-surfactant. The main surfactantused in this project is the common anionic surfactant, Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate (SDS) at a fixed concentration of 4 mmol/l. Each type of co-surfactant with different concentrations (0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5% and2.0 wt %) was mixed with 4 mmol/L of SDS at each test tube to create the surfactant solution. The result ofthe experiment showed that at 0.5 wt % for SLS and CLS surfactant solution, the contact angle of oil tosurface lowered down with a reduction of 6° and 7° respectively. This indicate that the system will bemore water-wet which the oil droplet will be less adhesive to the rock surface. In conclusion, by using theoptimum concentration of 0.5 wt % lignosulphonate as co-surfactant is able to alter the wettability ofrocks and it is recommended to test the biological-based co-surfactant at increasing temperature as analternative to enhance the surfactant flooding performance which improves the oil recovery.

An experiment in seed morphology and seed germination techniques of Albizia procera was carried out in the nursery of the Forestry and Wood Technology Discipline, Khulna University, Bangladesh in order to discover the source variation in seeds and pre-sowing treatment effects on seed germination. Mature seeds ofA. procera were collected from healthy trees in home garden plan- tations from five different districts in Bangladesh and treated with four pre-sowing treatments, i.e., control, immersion in cold water （4~C for 24 h） and immersion in hot water （80~C for 10 min and 100~C for 1 min）. The average length, width and thickness of seeds were calculated as 0.502 ＋ 0.485, 0.420 ~ 0.060 and 0.191 ~ 0.118 cm, respectively. Germination was conducted in poly-bags with a mixture of topsoil and cow dung in a ratio of 3：1. The results revealed that pre-sowing treatments affected the rate of germination of seeds, which significantly increased the germination percentages of seeds in hot water treatments compared with those in control （60.60%） and the cold water treatment （4℃ for 24 h, 63.53%）. The highest germination success was 82.07% in the treatment of im- mersion in hot water （80℃） for 10 min, followed by 79.00% in immersion in hot water （100℃） for l rain. Germination started 4 to 6 days after seed sowing and completed in a period of 22 to 25 days in all treatments. ANOVAs showed statistically significant dif- ferences （p 〈 0.05） in seed germination starting dates, closing dates, germination percentages and rates of germination among treat- ments, but no significant differences in seed germination starting dates, closing dates, germination period, germination percentages and rates of germination among the seed sources. The study also revealed that the interaction between seed source variation and treat- ment effect significantly differed in seed germination starting dates, closing dates, germination percentages and rates of germination. Zn substituted Cu-Zn ferrites with a composition Cu1-xZnxFe2O4 have been synthesized by standard double sintering ceramic method and characterized by X-ray diffraction. The single-phase cubic spinel structure of all the samples has been confirmed from X-ray diffraction analyses. The lattice constant is found to increase linearly with the manganese content obeying Vegard’s law. This increase in lattice parameter is explained in terms of the sizes of component ions. It is well known that density plays a key role in controlling the properties of polycrystalline ferrites. The X-ray and bulk densities of the Cu-Zn ferrite is significantly decreased whereas porosity increased with increasing Zn concentration, thereby giving an impression that zinc might be helping in the densification of the materials. SEM micrographs exhibit a decrease in grain size with increasing Zn content. The real part of initial permeability, μ′ increase with increasing Zn contents upto x = 0.5 after that it decreases with higher Zn content.

Impacts of Nighttime Warming on the Soil Nematode Community in a Winter Wheat Field of Yangtze Delta Plain, China

Changes in the soil nematode community induced by global warming may have a considerable influence on agro-ecosystem functioning. However, the impacts of predicted warming on nematode community in farmland （e.g., winter wheat field） have not been well documented. Therefore, a field experiment with free air temperature increase （FATI） was conducted to investigate the responses of the soil nematode community to nighttime warming in a winter wheat field of Yangtze Delta Plain, China, during 2007 to 2009. Nighttime warming （NW） by 1.8~C at 5-cm soil depth had no significant impact on the total nematode abundance compared to un-warmed control （CK）. However, NW significantly affected the nematode community structure. Warming favored the bacterivores and fungivores, such as Acrobeles, Monhystera, Rhabditis, and Rhabdontolaimus in bacterivores, and Filenchus in fungivores, while the plant-parasites were hindered, such as Helicotylenchus and Psilenchus. Interestingly, the carnivores/ omnivores remained almost unchanged. Hence, the abundances ofbacterivores and fungivores were significantly higher under NW than those under CK. Similarly, the abundances of plant-parasites were significantly lower under NW than under CK. Furthermore, Wasilewska index of the nematode community was significantly higher under NW than those under CK, indicating beneficial effect to the plant in the soil. Our results suggest that nighttime warming may improve soil fertility and decrease soil- borne diseases in winter wheat field through affecting the soil nematode community. It is also indicated that nighttime warming may promote the sustainability of the nematode community by altering genera-specific habitat suitability for soil biota.

Objective:To discuss the prevalence,clinical and laboratory presentations of relapse typhoid ***:All relapse cases were reviewed to identify the clinical and laboratory presentation of the relapse typhoid ***:Two hundred and forty six patients were admitted to a teaching tertiary hospital in North-eastern state of Malaysia and fourteen(5.69%) relapse cases were *** duration of relapse after the patient was discharged was(25.0±9.9) *** patients presented with fever,diarrhoea,headache,abdominal pain and constipation. The duration of fever before admission in the initial episode[(8.6±4.2) d]was significantly longer than the relapse episode[(5.0±2.5) d](P=0.019).Four patients have hepatomegaly in initial episode and ten in relapse episode(P=0.852).The defervescence days of initial episodes was (3.2±2.2) d,comparing to relapse episode[(2.0±1.8) d]which was statistically not significant (P=0.124).Conclusion:Assumption of the relapse typhoid fever is milder comparing to original episodes based on observation and is not supported by statistical analysis.

Effect of Sintering Temperature on Structural and Magnetic Properties of Ni0.55Zn0.45Fe2O4Ferrites

The effect of frequency and sintering temperature on initial permeability of Ni0.55Zn0.45Fe2O4 ferrites have been studied by using an impedance analyzer. The samples were prepared by conventional double sintering ceramic technique using oxide nanoparticles of grain size 30 - 50 nm. Single phase spinal structure has been confirmed for the prepared samples by X-ray diffraction. As the sintering temperatures increase from 1160℃ to 1300℃, the permeability gradually increases. The increase of permeability is ascribed to the increase of density and grain size. Grain size is expected to grow with the increase of sintering temperature. Ferrites with large average grain size posses higher initial permeability. The Curie temperatures determined from temperature dependence of permeability of the samples sintered at different temperatures are found to be Tc = (321 ± 1)℃ and independent of sintering temperature. At Ts = 1300℃, Tc is found to increase substantially which can be explained by the fact that Zn has evaporated from the surface layer.

Failure detection is an essential task in industrial systems for preventing costly downtime and ensuring the seamlessoperation of the system. Current industrial processes are getting smarter with the emergence of Industry ***, various modernized industrial processes have been equipped with quite a few sensors to collectprocess-based data to find faults arising or prevailing in processes along with monitoring the status of *** diagnosis of rotating machines serves a main role in the engineering field and industrial production. Dueto the disadvantages of existing fault, diagnosis approaches, which greatly depend on professional experienceand human knowledge, intellectual fault diagnosis based on deep learning (DL) has attracted the researcher’sinterest. DL reaches the desired fault classification and automatic feature learning. Therefore, this article designs a Gradient Optimizer Algorithm with Hybrid Deep Learning-based Failure Detection and Classification (GOAHDLFDC)in the industrial environment. The presented GOAHDL-FDC technique initially applies continuous wavelettransform (CWT) for preprocessing the actual vibrational signals of the rotating machinery. Next, the residualnetwork (ResNet18) model was exploited for the extraction of features from the vibration signals which are thenfed into theHDLmodel for automated fault detection. Finally, theGOA-based hyperparameter tuning is performedtoadjust the parameter valuesof theHDLmodel *** experimental result analysis of the GOAHDL-FD Calgorithm takes place using a series of simulations and the experimentation outcomes highlight the better resultsof the GOAHDL-FDC technique under different aspects.
