Numerical solution of thermo-solutal mixed convective slip flow from a radiative plate with convective boundary condition

A mathematical model for mixed convective slip flow with heat and mass transfer in the presence of thermal radiation is presented. A convective boundary condition is included and slip is simulated via the hydrodynamic slip parameter. Heat generation and absorption effects are also incorporated. The Rosseland diffusion flux model is employed. The governing partial differential conservation equations are reduced to a system of coupled, ordinary differential equations via Lie group theory method. The resulting coupled equations are solved using shooting method. The influences of the emerging parameters on dimensionless velocity, tempera- ture and concentration distributions are investigated. Increasing radiative-conductive parameter accelerates the boundary layer flow and increases temperature whereas it depresses concentration. An elevation in convection-conduction parameter also accelerates the flow and temperatures whereas it reduces concentrations. Velocity near the wall is considerably boosted with increasing momentum slip parameter although both temperature and concentration boundary layer thicknesses are decreased. The presence of a heat source is found to increase momentum and thermal boundary layer thicknesses but reduces concentration boundary layer thickness. Excelle- nt correlation of the numerical solutions with previous non-slip studies is demonstrated. The current study has applications in bio- reactor diffusion flows and high-temperature chemical materials processing systems.

mOVPE Growth of In_xGa_(1-x)N(x～0.4) and Fabrication of Homo-junction Solar Cells

The metal organic vapor phase epitaxy （mOVPE） growth of indium gallium nitride （InGaN） has been discussed in detail towards the fabrication of solar cell. The InGaN film with In contents up to 0.4 are successfully grown by controlling the fundamental growth parameters such as the precursor gas flow rates, temperature etc. The formation of metallic In originates from the higher value （0.74） of trimethylindium/ （trimethylindium ＋ triethylgallium）（TmI/（TmI ＋ TEG）） molar ratio with low （4100） V/lll weight molar ratio while the lower value （0.2） of TmI/（TmI ＋ TEG） causes the phase separation. It is also necessary to control the growth rate and epitaxial film thickness to suppress the phase separation in the material. The crystalline quality of grown films is studied and it is found to be markedly deteriorated with increasing In content. The lattice parameters as well as the thermal expansion coefficient mismatch between GaN template and InGaN epi-layer are primarily considered as the reasons to deteriorate the film quality for higher In content. By using Ino.16Ga0.84N films, an n＋-p homo-junction structure is fabricated on 0.65 μm GaN template. For such a device, the response to the light illumination （Am 1.5） is observed with an open circuit voltage of 1.4 V and the short circuit current density of 0.25 mA/cm2. To improve the performance as well as increase solar photon capturing, the device is further fabricated on thick GaN template with higher In content. The In0.25Ga0.75N n＋-p junction solar cell is found better performance with an open circuit voltage of 1.5 V and the short circuit current density of 0.5 mA/cm2. This is the InGaN p-n homo-junction solar cell with the highest In content ever reported by mOVPE.

magnesium hydride(mgH_(2))is the most feasible and effective solid-state hydrogen storage material,which has excellent reversibility but initiates decomposing at high temperatures and has slow kinetics ***,zinc titanate(Zn_(2)TiO_(4))synthesised by the solid-state method was used as an additive to lower the initial temperature for dehydrogenation and enhance the re/dehydrogenation behaviour of mgH_(2).With the presence of Zn_(2)TiO_(4),the starting temperature for the dehydrogenation of mgH_(2)was remarkably lowered to around 290℃–305℃.In addition,within 300 s,the mgH_(2)–Zn_(2)TiO_(4)sample absorbed 5.0 wt.%of H_(2)and 2.2–3.6 wt.%H_(2)was liberated from the composite sample in 30 min,which is faster by 22–36 times than as-milled mgH_(2).The activation energy of the mgH_(2)for the dehydrogenation process was also downshifted to 105.5 k J/mol with the addition of Zn_(2)TiO_(4)indicating a decrease of 22%than as-milled mgH_(2).The superior behaviour of mgH_(2)was due to the formation of mg Zn_(2),mgO and mgTiO_(3),which are responsible for ameliorating the re/dehydrogenation behaviour of mgH_(2).These findings provide a new understanding of the hydrogen storage behaviour of the catalysed-mgH_(2)system.

Objective:To assess the immunopotentiality of Ayurvedic polyherbal preparations,"Saribadi" and "Anantamul Salsa".methods: Freshly prepared BALB/c mice splenocytes were cultured with "Saribadi" or"Anantamul Salsa" treatment [doses of 0.25%, 0.50%, 0.75%, 1.00%, 1.50%, 2.00%,3.00% and 4.00%(v/v)] at 37C for 5 days. The immunoglobulin m(Igm) production and lymphocytes proliferation were determined by ELISA and mTT methods, *** contamination was assessed by treating the preparations with polymyxin ***: The doses of "Saribadi" [0.25%, 0.50%, 0.75% and 1.00%(v/v)] significantly increased Igm productions(0.966, 0.728, 0.695 and 0.615 mg/m L vs. control 0.265 mg/m L)and lymphocytes proliferation [absorbance 0.311, 0.394, 0.372 and 0.334 optical density(OD) vs. control 0.162 OD]. Similarly, the doses of "Anantamul Salsa" [0.50%, 0.75%,1.00% and 1.50%(v/v)] promoted Igm productions(0.933, 0.919, 0.917 and 0.892 mg/m L vs. control 0.502 mg/m L) and the doses of "Anantamul Salsa" [0.50%, 0.75%, 1.00%,1.50%, 2.00%, and 3.00%(v/v)] stimulated lymphocytes proliferation(absorbance 0.395,0.326, 0.440, 0.398, 0.452 and 0.355 OD vs. control 0.199 OD). The activity of "Saribadi"and "Anantamul Salsa" was not retarded by the treatment of preparations with polymyxin ***: Immunomodulatory activity of "Saribadi" and "Anantamul Salsa" was unveiled for the first time. "Saribadi" and "Anantamul Salsa" possess immunostimulating potential acting through the induction of lymphocyte proliferation and Igm *** preparations may be useful in strengthening immune responses. However, further cellular and in vivo studies are required.

Structural, Dielectric, and magnetic Properties of Ba-Doped multiferroic Bismuth Ferrite

The main focus of the research was to correlate the microstructure with dielectric and magnetic properties of Bi1-xBaxFeO3 samples. Bi1-xBaxFeO3 samples（x = 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3） were synthesized by the conventional solid-state reaction method using nano-powders of Bi2O3, Fe2O3, and BaCO3. Thereafter, field emission scanning electron microscope and X-ray diffraction（XRD） techniques were used to examine the structure and phase of the samples. Phase analysis by XRD indicated that the single-phase perovskite structure was formed with possible increment in lattice parameter with increasing Ba doping. Complex permeability（u＇iand u＇＇i） measured using impedance analyzer confirmed the increase in magnetic property with increasing Ba doping. Finally, dielectric constant（k） was analyzed as a function of temperature at different frequencies. Dielectric constant as high as 2900 was attained in this research for Bi0.8Ba0.2FeO3 sample due to reduction in leakage current at this composition.

Application of SWAN model for storm generated wave simulation in the Canadian Beaufort Sea

The wave model SWAN(Simulating WAves Nearshore)is implemented for the Canadian Beaufort Sea and storm generated waves are investigated through comparisons between in situ buoy observations and numerical *** are performed for four storms using the SWAN wave *** specifically use SWAN’s non-stationary and two-dimensional modes in a fine resolution nested domain within a coarse resolution *** established whitecapping formulations in SWAN are examined;one is dependent on mean spectral wave steepness and the other is on local spectral *** simulations in the shallow fine resolution domain also consider the effects of bottom friction and nonlinear triad *** the Beaufort Sea study area,wave simulations in which the white capping formulation is dependent on local spectral steepness are better than those where the dependency is on mean spectral steepness;however implementation of bottom friction term and triad mechanisms in the present study does not lead to any notable enhancement in the simulations.

Spatiotemporal variation and mechanisms of temperature inversion in the Bay of Bengal and the eastern equatorial Indian Ocean

In the northern Bay of Bengal,the existence of intense temperature inversion during winter is a widely accepted ***,occurrences of temperature inversion during other seasons and the spatial distribution within and adjacent to the Bay of Bengal are not well *** this study,a higher resolution spatiotemporal variation of temperature inversion and its mechanisms are examined with mixed layer heat and salt budget analysis utilizing long-term Argo(2004 to 2020)and RAmA(2007 to 2020)profiles data in the Bay of Bengal and eastern equatorial Indian Ocean(EEIO).Temperature inversion exists(17.5%of the total 39293 Argo and 51.6%of the 28894 RAmA profiles)throughout the year in the entire study *** shows strong seasonal variation,with the highest occurrences in winter and the lowest in *** winter inversion in the northern Bay of Bengal,two other regions with frequent temperature inversion are identified in this study for the first time:the northeastern part of the Bay of Bengal and the eastern part of the EEIO during summer and *** processes of temperature inversion for different subregions are revealed in the current *** of heat(mean~25 W/m;)below the haline-stratified shallow mixed layer leads to a relatively warmer subsurface layer along with the simultaneous cooling tendency in mixed layer,which controls more occurrence of temperature inversion in the northern Bay of Bengal throughout the *** lower cooling tendency due to net surface heat loss and higher mixed layer salinity leaves the southern part of the bay less supportive to the formation of temperature inversion than the northern *** the EEIO,slightly cooling tendency in the mixed layer along with the subduction of warm-salty Arabian Sea water beneath the cold-fresher Bay of Bengal water,and downwelling of thermocline creates a favorable environment for forming temperature inversion mainly during summer and *** isothermal layer

Rheology and lubricity characteristics study at different temperatures using synthesized SnO_(2) nanoparticles in KCl free bentonite water base mud

Drilling mud is a major concerning element due to its high operational and economic impact on the drilling *** additives are introduced to enhance the efficiency of drilling fluid,but none of them could perfectly achieve their proposed efficacy in drilling *** conceived several nanoparticles(NPs)in drilling fluid to dissolve this *** a singular instance,commercial tin oxide(SnO_(2))nanoparticles were utilized to analyze the influence of NPs on the rheological and filtration properties of inorganic KCl salt-based drilling ***,the effect of SnO_(2) NPs on mud lubricity characteristics is not studied ***,due to the hazardous behavior of KCl,its use is very ***,we consider a KCl-free bentonite water-based mud to avoid any environmental damages from drilling *** also use SnO_(2) NPs that is synthesized in our laboratory by co-precipitation *** addition to rheological and filtration properties,we also investigate the effect of NPs on mud's lubricity that was not considered in the previous *** fluid properties are measured at five different NPs concentrations of 0.10,0.25,0.50,0.75&1.0 wt%,and at six different temperatures of 30,40,50,60,70,and 80°C,while filtration properties are measured using API low-pressure low temperature(LPLT)*** addition of 0.1 wt%SnO_(2) NPs increases plastic viscosity,yield point,10 s gel strength,and 10 min gel strength by 10%,63%,20%,and 14%,*** maximum reduction in lubricity coefficient is found to be 14%at NPs concentration of 1.0 wt%.The NPs concentration of 0.5 wt%yielded a reduction in fluid loss and mud cake thickness by 8.1%and 34%,*** study suggests that SnO_(2) NPs can be employed as an additive to improve the rheology,lubricity,and filtration properties of KCl-free bentonite water-based drilling mud.
