Graphene,owing to its inherent chemical inertness,biocompatibility,and mechanical flexibility,has great potential in guiding cell behaviors such as adhesion and ***,due to the two-dimensional(2D)nature of graphene,the microfabrication of graphene into micro/nanoscale patterns has been widely adopted for guiding cellular *** this study,we report crumpled graphene,i.e.,monolithically defined graphene with a nanoscale wavy surface texture,as a tissue engineering platform that can efficiently promote aligned C2C12 mouse myoblast cell *** imparted out-of-plane,nanoscale crumpled morphologies to flat graphene via compressive straininduced *** C2C12 mouse myoblast cells were seeded on the uniaxially crumpled graphene,not only were the alignment and elongation promoted at a single-cell level but also the differentiation and maturation of myotubes were enhanced compared to that on flat *** results demonstrate the utility of the crumpled graphene platform for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine for skeletal muscle tissues.

The shift towards the renewable energy market for carbon-neutral power generation has encouraged different governments to come up with a plan of *** with the endorsement of renewable energy for harsh environmental conditions like sand dust and snow,monitoring and maintenance are a few of the prime *** problems were addressed widely in the literature,but most of the research has drawbacks due to long detection time,and high misclassification *** to overcome these drawbacks,and to develop an accurate monitoring approach,this paper is motivated toward the understanding of primary failure concerning a grid-connected photovoltaic(PV)system and highlighted along with a brief overview on existing fault detection *** on the drawback a data-driven machine learning approach has been used for the identification of fault and indicating the maintenance unit regarding the operation and maintenance ***,the system was tested with a 4 kWp grid-connected PV system,and a decision tree-based algorithm was developed for the identification of a *** results identified 94.7%training accuracy and 14000 observations/sec prediction speed for the trained classifier and improved the reliability of fault detection nature of the grid-connected PV operation.

Globally, the current important concern is to minimize nitrogen use in crop culture under climate change condition. The experiment was conducted at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, Gazipur, Bangladesh during the rainy season of 2014 to assess growth, yield and nitrogen use efficiency of a new rice variety. The new rice variety (BUdhan 1) was treated with six levels of nitrogenous fertilizer in a randomized complete block design replicated three times. The nitrogen levels 0, 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 kg N ha-1 constituted the treatment variables. Results revealed that growth of the new rice variety favored at higher levels of applied nitrogen although it flattened at 80 and 100 kg N -1. Preanthesis assimilates reserves contributed to sustaining the yield of the variety which indicated that current photosynthesis was insufficient to support the present yield level. The assimilate remobilization varied from 109.21 to 232.93 g·m-2 between the nitrogen levels where the maximum amount of remobilization was observed at 60 kg N -1. The highest grain yield (5.36 t·-1) was found when the variety was fertilized with 60 kg N -1. Application of 60 kg N -1 also showed the highest nitrogen use efficiency (344.50 kg grain/kg N applied) of the variety. We concluded that application of the intermediate level of nitrogen was economical and environment-friendly for the cultivation of new rice variety.

Some big cities in Bangladesh have been experiencing a massive and rapid influx of rural people due to the impacts of climate change,and therefore the urban administration encounters enormous *** study aims to investigate the drivers of climate-induced migration and the post-displacement status of the migrants living in the urban slum of Rajshahi *** a semi-structured questionnaire survey,this study conducted interviews with 50 migrants residing in two slums in Rajshahi *** interpretive phenomenological analysis(IPA)approach was implemented to evaluate the survey *** study finds that food insecurity and flood are the two significant climate drivers of *** the non-climate drivers,lack of alternative livelihood is the major *** should be noticed that the climate migrants in many cases do not get the opportunity to improve their living standards;they are usually occupied with low-pay professions like maid,van and rickshaw puller,and scrap *** study also reveals that migrants,especially females and children,need several basic physiological,economic,social,and health *** children have no chance to attend *** to males,females have more opportunities for some support and ***,an inadequate level of change has taken place in the lives of migrants,which raises the concern if migration is ever a way to resolve a problem or the beginning of many other *** research may concentrate on the impact of migration on the dynamics of social capital among slum dwellers.

Juri is a biodiversity-rich primary forest in Bangladesh, which remains ecologically unexplored. We identified tree species and examined the richness, alpha（a）diversity and floristic similarity patterns within the identified communities. Vegetation and environmental data were sampled in 120（0.04 ha） study plots. Tree communities were delimited by two-way indicator species analysis（TWINSPAN）. In total, 78 tree species of 35 families and58 genera were identified. TWINSPAN identified six tree communities： A—Tricalysia singularis; B—Kydia calycina-Castanopsis tribuloides; C—Polyalthia simiarum-Duabanga grandiflora; D—Ficus roxburghii; E—Artocarpus lacucha; F—Artocarpus lacucha. Mean richness, Shannon and Gini-Simpson indices were highest for the Polyalthia simiarum-Duabanga grandiflora community, while Ficus roxburghii showed lowest diversity. Significant differences（p = 0.05） in three diversity indices were recorded between Polyalthia simiarum-Duabanga grandiflora and Ficus roxburghii. Tree compositional similarity was greatest between Kydia calycina-Castanopsis tribuloides and Polyalthia simiarum-Duabanga grandiflora（0.712）.

The objective of this study was to compare the precision of CH4 estimates using calculated CO_2(HP) by the CO_2 method(CO_2 T) and measured CO_2 in the respiration chamber(CO_2 R). The CO_2 R and CO_2 T study was conducted as a 3 × 3 Latin square design where 3 Dexter heifers were allocated to metabolic cages for 3 periods. Each period consisted of 2 weeks of adaptation followed by 1 week of measurement with the CO_2 R and CO_2 T. The average body weight of the heifer was 226 ± 11 kg(means±SD). They were fed a total mixed ration, twice daily, with 1 of 3 supplements: wheat(W), molasses(M), or molasses mixed with sodium bicarbonate(Mbic). The dry mater intake(DMI: kg/day) was significantly greater(P < 0.001)in the metabolic cage compared with that in the respiration chamber. The daily CH4(L/day) emission was strongly correlated(r=0.78) between CO_2 T and CO_2 R. The daily CH4(L/kg DMI) emission by the CO_2 T was in the same magnitude as by the CO_2 R. The measured CO_2(L/day) production in the respiration chamber was not different(P = 0.39) from the calculated CO_2 production using the CO_2 T. This result concludes a reasonable accuracy and precision of CH4 estimation by the CO_2 T compared with the CO_2 R.

The depletion in non-renewable energy sources and a fast-growing population in Bangladesh are exacerbating the already existing energy scarcity,highlighting the need for an efficient and robust renewable-energy supply *** primary goal of this study is to evaluate the most optimized renewable-energy supply chain based on natural resource availability and government policies of *** the present study,four renewable energy resources,including solar,biomass,wind and hydropower,are studied and nine subcriteria are defined under four primary criteria for each supply *** for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution(TOPSIS)and VIseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje(VIKOR)are multicriteria decision-making approaches used in this study to compare and choose the best renewable-energy supply *** relative significance of four supply-chain criteria for primary renewable energy in this study,namely energy procurement,production,operations and maintenance costs,and social and environmental impact,is gathered via a *** results of this research,supported by a comprehensive sensitivity analysis,indicate that hydropower is the best renewable-energy supply chain,followed by wind as a compromise solution,biomass and *** study also demonstrates that no energy source can satisfy all supply-chain criteria alone;each resource is better for a specific criterion-solar is better for procurement,hydropower is significant for production and wind is remarkable for operations and social ***,to maximize output,renewable energy sources must be *** Bangladesh’s perspective,for the first time,by using TOPSIS and VIKOR together,this study offers significant insights to establish an efficient and sustainable renewable-energy supply chain for practitioners,academics and policymakers.

Changes in refractive index and the corresponding changes in the characteristics of an optical waveguide in enabling propagation of light are the basis for many modern silicon photonic devices. Optical properties of these active nanoscale waveguides are sensitive to the little changes in geometry, external injection/biasing, and doping profiles, and can be crucial in design and manufacturing processes. This paper brings the active silicon waveguide for complete characterization of various distinctive guiding parameters, including perturbation in real and imaginary refractive index, mode loss, group velocity dispersion, and bending loss, which can be instrumental in developing optimal design specifications for various application-centric active silicon waveguides.
