Prevalence and Associated Factors of Anemia among Pregnant Women Receiving Antenatal Care (ANC) at Fatima Hospital in Jashore, Bangladesh: A Cross-Sectional Study

Since anemia is one of the most skyrocketed public health problems worldwide, an investigation has thus been conducted to assess the prevalence and associated factors of anemia among the pregnant women receiving antenatal care (ANC) at Fatima Hospital in Jashore, Bangladesh. Facility-based cross-sectional study was carried out among 384 pregnant women at Fatima hospital, Bangladesh from February to April, 2019. Data were obtained using a structured questionnaire and participant’s current medical record card. Binary logistic regression analysis was used to identify factors associated with anemia and a P-value ally significance. The overall prevalence of anemia among pregnant women was 58.9% (226/384). Out of 226 anemic pregnant mothers, 36.3% (82/226) were mildly anemic, 62.4% (141/226) were moderately anemic and 1.3% (3/384) was severely anemic. Binary logistic regression analysis revealed that the following variables were significantly associated with anemia: Monthly family income (11,000 - 20,000 Taka) [AOR (95% CI) = 0.45 (0.21 - 0.98)], Family size (joint) [AOR (95% CI) = 1.59 (1.03 - 2.45)], Gestational age (third trimester) [AOR (95% CI) = 2.18 (1.40 - 3.40)], birth spacing alence of anemia among pregnant women is severe at Fatima Hospital in Jashore, Bangladesh.

In this manuscript,we report the hydrothermally prepared rGO/Gd@ZnO nanocomposite for the utilization of photocatalytic Rh B(rhodamine B)dye *** required characterization techniques were carried out to analyse the structural,morphological,chemical,environmental and optical behaviour of the prepared *** efficiency of the prepared nanoparticles was studied by Rh B dye degradation upon UV-Vis-light illumination which reveals that composite catalyst degrades the dye molecule about 91%after 40 min of *** comparing the higher degradation efficiency of the rGO/Gd@ZnO nanocomposite with that of ZnO and Gd doped ZnO,it reveals a greater reduction of charge carriers'recombination,higher visible-light utilization and higher adsorption *** trapping experiment and recycling test were conducted to study the influence of active radicals for the degradation reaction and to know the stability of the prepared nanocomposite,***,this rGO supported Gd doped ZnO nanocomposite can provide a new path way in preparing a highly efficient photocatalyst for organic pollutant degradation at large.

Objective: To determine the prevalence and risk factors of Giardia(G.) lamblia infections among the aboriginal community during the wet and dry seasons. Methods: A total of 473 stool samples from the aborigines in Temerloh, Pahang, Malaysia were collected during wet(n=256) and dry seasons(n=217). Smear of all the PVA-preserved stool samples were subjected to Trichrome staining and microscopic examination under 1 000 伊magnification(Nikon eclipse E100) for the detection of G. lamblia. Positivity was recorded based on the presence of G. lamblia in trophozoite and/or cyst forms. Results: The prevalence of giardiasis was 12.10% and 8.29% during the wet and dry season, respectively. Age of less or equal to 15 years old and presence of other family members with G. lamblia infection were found to be the significant risk factors to acquire G. lamblia infections during both seasons. Untreated water supply was the significant risk factor of giardiasis during the dry season. This study highlighted the possibility of anthroponotic transmission of G. lamblia during both seasons and waterborne transmission during the dry season in the aboriginal community. Conclusions: This study suggests that seasonal variation plays an important role in the prevalence and risk factor of G. lamblia infection in the aboriginal community. Therefore, close contact with Giardia-infected family members and water-related activities or usage of untreated water must be avoided to reduce the burden of G. lamblia infection in this community.

The influence of physical and chemical parameters on the abundance and diversity of chironomids was studied in six rivers with moderate to highly polluted water in the Juru River Basin. The rivers： Ceruk Tok Kun （CTKR） as reference site, and polluted rivers of Pasir （PR）, Juru （JR）, Permatang Rawa （PRR）, Ara （AR） and Kilang Ubi （KUR） were sampled over a period of five months （November 2007–March 2008）. Nine chirnomid species： Chironimus kiiensis, C. javanus, Polypedilum trigonus, Microchironomus sp., Dicrotendipes sp., Tanytarsus formosanus, Clinotanypus sp., Tanypus punctipennis and Fittkauimyia sp. were identified. Assessment of their relationships with several environmental parameters was performed using the canonical correspondence analysis （CCA）. Tanytarsus formosanus was the most dominant in the relatively clean CTKR and moderately polluted JR with mean densities of 19.66 and 25.32 m 2 , respectively while C. kiiensis was abundant in more polluted rivers. Tanytarsus formosanus, Dicrotendipes sp. and Microchironomus sp. were grouped under moderate to high water temperature, total organic matter （TOM）, total suspended solids （TSS）, velocity, pH, phosphates and sulphates. However, Tanypus punctipennis, Fittkauimyia sp., and Clinotanypus sp. were associated with high contents of river sediment such as TOM, Zn and Mn and water ammonium-N and nitrate-N and they were associated with higher dissolved oxygen （DO） content in the water. Chironomus kiiensis, C. javanus and P. trigonus showed positive relationships with TOM, ammonium-N and nitrate-N as well as trace metals of Zn, Cu and Mn. These three species could be considered as tolerant species since they have the ability to survive in extreme environmental conditions with low DO and high concentrations of pollutants. Based on the water parameter scores in all rivers, the highest diversity of chironomid larvae was reported in CTKR. In this paper,a unit cell of a single-negative metamaterial structure loaded with a meander line and defected ground structure(DGS)is investigated as the principle radiating element of an *** unit cell antenna causes even or odd mode resonances similar to the unit cell structure depending on the orientation of the microstrip feed used to excite the unit ***,the orientation which gives low-frequency resonance is considered *** unit cell antenna is then loaded with a meander line which is parallel to the split bearing side and connects the other two sides orthogonal to the split bearing *** modified structure excites another mode of resonance at high frequency when a meander line defect is loaded on the metallic ground *** parameters of the meander line structure,the DGS shape,and the unit cell are optimized to place these two resonances at different frequencies with proper frequency intervals to enhance the ***,the feed is placed in an offset position for better impedance matching without affecting the bandwidth The compact dimension of the antenna is 0.25λL×0.23λL×0.02λL,whereλL is the free space wavelength with respect to the center frequency of the impedance *** proposed antenna is fabricated and *** results reveal that the modified design gives monopole like radiation patterns which achieves a fractional operating bandwidth of 26.6%,from 3.26 to 4.26 GHz for|S11|al plane.

We present the investigation on LaF3/porous silicon （PS） system that has properties of both the materials to be applied in photonics. Epilayers of LaF3 are grown on PS under different anodization conditions using electron-beam evaporation （EBE）. The characteristics of the LaF3/PS system are analyzed by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, scanning electron microscope （SEM）, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy （EDX）, and photoluminescence （PL）. XRD confirms the polycrystalline nature of the LaFz film. Nearly stoichiometric growth of LaF3 on PS is established by EDX. Such a thin LaF3 layer grown on PS leads to a good enhancement of PL yield of PS. But with the increasing thickness of LaF3 layer, PL intensity of PS is found to decrease along with a small blue-shift.
