The secondary structure of a protein is critical for establishing a link between the protein primary and tertiary *** this reason,it is important to design methods for accurate protein secondary structure *** of the existing computational techniques for protein structural and functional prediction are based onmachine learning with *** deep learning architectures have already been applied to tackle protein secondary structure prediction *** this study,deep learning based models,i.e.,convolutional neural network and long short-term memory for protein secondary structure prediction were *** input to proposed models is amino acid sequences which were derived from CulledPDB *** tuning with cross validation was employed to attain best parameters for the proposed *** proposed models enables effective processing of amino acids and attain approximately 87.05%and 87.47%Q3 accuracy of protein secondary structure prediction for convolutional neural network and long short-term memory models,respectively.

Objective:To investigate the antilithiatic effect of the whole Leea macrophylla(L macrophylla) Roxb(Leeaeeae) ethanol extract in ediylene glycol-induced urolithiasis model of ***: Forty two seven weeks old male wistar albino rats were randomly divided into two major groups namely:preventive(n=18) and therapeutic(n=24).Preventive group was further subdivided into 3 groups of 6 rats namely:preventive control(PC),preventive lithiatic control(PLC) and preventive lithiatic ***(PLLM).Similarly,therapeutic group was also subdivided into 4 groups of 6 rats namely:therapeutic control(TC),therapeutic lithiatic control(TLC).therapeutic lithitatic L macrophylla(TLLM) and therapeutic lithiatic cystone(TLCYS).The lithiasis was induced by 0.75%(v/v) ethylene glycol in the drinking water of all groups except the PC and TC *** urinary ionic parameters such as calcium,inorganic phosphate,oxalate,magnesium & creatinine and renal morphology were altered by ediylene glycol,which were partially recovered by 14 d preventive and almost fully recovered by 28 d therapeutic intervention trials with L macrophylla extract(500 mg/kg BW daily).Results:Significant difference on recovery was observed between preventive and dierapeutic interventional ***-urolithiatic effect of cystone was significantly(P<0.001) higher than extracts.L macrophylla extract was found nontoxic in the acute toxicity ***:The results of this study demonstrated very promising antiurolithiatic effect of *** extract with preventive and therapeutic treatments in this experimental condition.

Objective:To investigate the antibacterial and cytotoxic activity of fourteen different edible vegetables methanolic extract from ***:The antibacterial activity was evaluated using disc diffusion assay method against 12 bacteria(both gram positive and gram negative).The plant extracts were also screened for cytotoxic activity using the brine shrimp lethality bioassay method and the lethal concentrations(LC_(50))were determined at confidence intervals by analyzing the data on a computer loaded with"Finney Programme??Results:All the vegetable extracts showed low to elevated levels of antibacterial activity against most of the tested strains(zone of inhibition=5-28 mm).The most active extract against all bacterial strains was from Xanthium indicum which showed remarkable antibacterial activity having the diameter of growth inhibition zone ranging from 12 to 28 mm followed by Alternanthera sessilis(zone of inhibition=6-21 mm).All extracts exhibited considerable general toxicity towards brine *** LC_(50)value of the tested extracts was within the range of 8.447 to 60.323μg/mL with respect to the positive control(vincristine sulphate)which was 0.91μg/*** all studied extracts,Xanthium indicum displayed the highest cytotoxic effect with LC_(50)value of 8.447μg/***:The results of the present investigation suggest that most of the studied plants are potentially good source of antibacterial and anticancer agents.

Synthesis, spectral characterization and biological activities of Organotin(IV) complexes with <i>ortho</i>-vanillin-2-hydrazinopyridine (VHP)

Five new organotin(IV) complexes of ortho-vanillin-2-hydrazinopyridine hydrazone with formula [RnSnCl4–n(VHP)] [R = Me2, n = 2 (2);R = Ph2, n = 2 (3);R= nBu2, n = 2 (4);R = nBu, n = 2 (5) and R = 1, n = 0 (6)] have been synthesized by direct reaction of ortho-vanillin-2-hydrazinopyridine hydrazone [(VHP), (1)], base and organotin(IV) chloride(s) in absolute methanol. The hydrazone ligand [(VHP), (1)] and its organotin(IV) complexes (2-6) have been characterized by UV-Visible, FT-IR and 1H NMR spectral studies. Spectroscopic data suggested that in the complexes (2-4), the ligand (1) acted as a neutral bidentate ligand and is coordinated to the tin(IV) atom via the azomethine nitrogen and pyridyl nitrogen atoms, whereas the ligand (1) acted as a uninegative tridentate ligand and coordinated to the tin(IV) atom through phenolic-O, azomethine-N and pyridyl-N atoms in complexes (5-6). The toxicity of the ligand (1) and its organotin (IV) complexes (2-6) were determined against Artemia salina. Organotin(IV) complexes showed moderate activity against Artemia salina. The ligand (1) and its organotin(IV) complexes (2-6) were also tested against four types of bacteria namely Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Enterobacter aerogenes. All organotin(IV) complexes and the free ligand (1) showed better antibacterial activities against bacteria. Among the organotin(IV) complexes (2-6), diphenyltin(IV) complex (3) showed higher activity against the four types of bacteria.

Objective: To evaluate the ameliorating effects of Raphanus sativus leaves(RSL)against sodium arsenite(Sa)-induced adverse effects through mice ***: Swiss albino mice were divided into four equal groups: control, Sa, RSL,RSL + Sa. Sa(10 mg/kg body weight/day), and powder form of RSL(50 mg/kg body weight/day) were provided as food supplement orallty. Blood indices were measured using commercially available kits through colorimetric ***: It was observed that lactate dehydrogenase, alkaline phosphatase, alanine aminotransferase, and aspartate aminotransferase activities were significantly(P < 0.05)higher in Sa-treated mice than those in the control group. RSL significantly reduced Sainduced elevation of the activities of these enzymes in serum significantly(P < 0.05).Serum butyrylcholinesterase activity and high density lipoproteins cholesterol levels in Satreated mice were significantly(P < 0.05) lower than the control group, and the food supplementation of RSL could significantly(P < 0.05) prevent the reduction of Sa-mediated serum butyryl cholinesterase activity and high density lipoproteins cholesterol levels. RSL could also reduce the Sa-induced elevation of serum urea level significantly(P < 0.05).Conclusions: Results of this study suggest the protective or ameliorating effects of RSL on Sa-induced perturbation of blood indices are related to the hepatic, cardiovascular and kidney dysfunction. Therefore, RSL may be useful to reduce arsenic toxicity in human in the future.

The number of higher education institutions,particularly universities,both public and private,has been enormously increased in *** the significant growth in number,there is an increasing concern for quality education in these higher education *** order to address this concern,a number of scholars believe that Total Quality Management（TQM） can be an effective ***,there is a doubt to the extent to which it（TQM） will be applicable in higher education as it was originally developed for the manufacturing *** due course of evolution,TQM is now a well-accepted philosophy in service *** education is within the service sector,therefore,it can be assumed that it could play a vital role in assuring quality in higher *** prime objective of this paper is to assess the potentials of TQM in improving and assuring quality in higher education and to develop general guidelines by highlighting key issues for quality *** and information for this qualitative paper have been collected through literature search,policy document analysis,expert interview,and personal *** is expected that the findings of this study would be able to offer a thoughtful insight regarding the applicability of TQM in higher education in a developing country context like Bangladesh.

Objective:To investigate the clot lysis,antimicrobic and membrane stabilizing potentials of ethanolic extractives of the leaves of Heliotropium indicum(***).Methods:Crude ethanolic extracts of *** leaves were partitioned successively using solvents of different polarity and subjected to determine qualitatively and quantitatively for the presence of different bioactive constitutes and fractions which were assessed for their possible clot lysis,antimicrobic,and membrane stabilizing activities as compared with the known ***:For the thrombolytic activity,the petroleum ether soluble fraction showed the highest percent of clot lysis(35.4%)among all fractions,while streptokinase and water resulted in 65.15%and 3.77%clot lysis,*** respect to the membrane stabilizing activity,carbon tetrachloride soluble fraction of *** profoundly interdicted the hemolysis of erythrocytes brought about by osmotic induction(39.24%)or by heat(40.20%).The other fractions exhibited less significant membrane stabilizing *** contrast,acetylsalicylic acid resulted in 72.25%±0.30%inhibition of osmotically induced hemolysis and showed a lower level of protection of heat induced hemolysis(42.56%).Crude ethanolic extracts were moderately sensitive against known pathogenic *** pharmacological activities of *** are due to the presence of bioactive compounds,we detected and quantified the presence of significant levels of flavonoid and tannin ***:The outcomes of this research show that the leaves of *** have the potential to be used as a remedy for thrombosis,inflammatory diseases and against few important bacterial pathogens.

Objective:To optimize the dose of 3 commonly used growth promoters,viz.,Nuricell-Aqua(composition:glucomannan complex and mannose polymer),Hepaprotect-Aqua(composition:β-glucan,mannose polymer and essential oil)and Rapid-Grow(composition:organic acid and their salt,β-glucan,mannose oligosaccharide and essential oil),using Thai pangas(Pangasiandon hypophthalmus)as cultured ***:Thai pangas fingerlings with an average length and weight of 11 cm and 10 g were reared under laboratory condition and growth promoters were fed after incorporating them with a test diet at a ratio of 10%of their body weight for a period of 28 *** of data on growth such as weight gain(g),specific growth rate,survivability(%)test in each aquarium were conducted and data were analyzed using statistical ***:After 28 d of feeding with Nutricell-Aqua,10 mg/(20 g feed·day),which was the dose recommended by the manufacturer,was found *** Hepaprotect-Aqua and Rapid-Grow were employed,performance was found to be better with the dose of 60 mg/(20 g feed·day)which was 1.5 times higher than the dose recommended by the corresponding ***:These results suggest that chemicals and feed additives marketed in Bangladesh Fish Feed Market need further testing under Bangladesh climatic condition before being marketed.
