Objective:To investigate the antioxidant,antibacterial and cytotoxic activity of whole Leucas aspera(Labiatae)(***)alcoholic ***:Whole *** powder was extracted by absolute ethanol(99.50%).The ethanolic extract was subjected to antioxidant,antibacterial and brine shrimp lethality ***:The extract showed potent radical scavenging effect(antioxidant)with IC_(50)value of(99.58±1.22)μg/mL which was significant(P<0.01)in comparison to ascorbic acid with IC_(50)value of(1.25±0.95)μg/*** case of antibacterial screening,the extract showed notable antibacterial effect against the tested microbial ***(P<0.05)zone of inhibitions against Gram positive Bacillus subtilis[(12.00±1.32)mm]and Bacillus megaterium[(13.00±1.50)mm],Staphylococcus aureus[(8.00±0.50)mm]and Gram negative Salmonella typhi[(6.00±0.50)mm],Salmonella paratyphi[(8.00±1.00)mm],Shigella dysenteriae[(9.00±1.32)mm]and Vibrio cholerae[(9.00±0.66)mm]was *** brine shrimp lethality bioassay,the extract showed the LC_(50)value as(181.68±2.15)μg/mL which was statistically significant(P<0.01)compared to positive control vincristine sulfate[LC_(50)=(0.76±0.04)μg/mL].Conclusions:The results demonstrate that the ethanolic extract of *** could be used as antibacterial,pesticidal and various pharmacologic actives.

ATM card fraud is increasing gradually with the expansion of modern technology and global communication. In the whole world, it is resulting in the loss of billions of dollars each year. Fraud detection systems have become essential for all ATM card issuing banks to minimize their losses. The main goals are, firstly, to review alternative techniques that have been used in fraud detection and secondly compare and analyze these techniques that are already used in ATM card fraud detection. Recently different card security systems used different fraud detection techniques;these techniques are based on neural network, genetic algorithm, hidden Markov model, Bayesian network, decision tree, clustering method, support vector machine, etc. According to our survey, the most important parameters used for comparing these fraud detection systems are accuracy, speed and cost of fraud detection. This study is very useful for any ATM card provider to choose an appropriate solution for fraud detection problem and also enable us to build a hybrid approach for developing some effective algorithms which can perform properly on fraud detection mechanism.

Improving Grain Yield of Indigenous Rice in Tidal Floodplain of Southern Bangladesh: Effect of Seedling Age and Transplanting Method

Rice production in the tidal floodplain of southern Bangladesh is constrained by uncontrolled water. In absence of high yielding varieties suitable for tidal floodplain, farmers grow low yielding indigenous cultivars of tall plant type. This paper reports the effect of agronomic management on the yield and yield components of an indigenous rice cultivar, Sadamota. The trial was conducted in 10 farmers’ plots located widely apart in two upazila (sub-districts)—Jhalakati and Rajapur. 45 d and 60 d old seedlings were transplanted either in rows at 40 cm × 20 cm spacing or following farmers’ traditional practice of random planting. Transplanting 60 d old seedlings produced 14% higher yield compared with 45 d old seedlings. Transplanting in rows also increased grain yield by 12%. The yield increase was associated with hill density, the number of effective tillers per hill and the number of spikelets per panicle.

Anomaly detection has been an essential and dynamic research area in the data mining.A wide range of applications including different social medias have adopted different state-of-the-art methods to identify anomaly for ensuring user’s security and *** social network refers to a forum used by different groups of people to express their thoughts,communicate with each other,and share the content *** social networks also facilitate abnormal activities,spread fake news,rumours,misinformation,unsolicited messages,and propaganda post malicious ***,detection of abnormalities is one of the important data analysis activities for the identification of normal or abnormal users on the social *** this paper,we have developed a hybrid anomaly detection method named DT-SVMNB that cascades several machine learning algorithms including decision tree(C5.0),Support Vector Machine(SVM)and Naïve Bayesian classifier(NBC)for classifying normal and abnormal users in social *** have extracted a list of unique features derived from users’profile and *** two kinds of dataset with the selected features,the proposed machine learning model called DT-SVMNB is *** model classifies users as depressed one or suicidal one in the social *** have conducted an experiment of our model using synthetic and real datasets from social *** performance analysis demonstrates around 98%accuracy which proves the effectiveness and efficiency of our proposed system.

Impact of Extreme Precipitation Intensity on Tea Production in the North-East of Bangladesh

Bangladesh is a flood prone country where precipitation amount is irregular but sometimes extreme. Among the climatic parameters, precipitation is assumed as one of the vital indicators of ongoing climate change scenarios and is equally important for tea production. In this study, 7 and 9 tea estates of Sylhet and Sreemangal were selected to analyze tea production in relation to extreme precipitation intensity. Precipitation patterns namely 90th, 95th and 99th percentile were analyzed to find out the contribution of extreme precipitation and tea production. To attain the objectives, 3 hourly, daily, monthly, and total precipitation data from 1971 to 2014 were collected from Bangladesh Meteorological Department and Bangladesh Agricultural Development Board. Tea production data were collected from Bangladesh Tea Board, Sylhet. To find out extreme level of precipitation 90th, 95th, 99th percentile precipitation days were identified and analyzed. The analyses show that 1974, 1976, 1977, 1993, 1988, 1990, 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2004 were extreme precipitation years. The average precipitation of Sylhet was higher in 2000 than in 1992 and 2014. In Sreemangal, extreme precipitation was higher in 2014 than in 1992 and 2000. For both the regions, tea production was higher in 2000 and lower in 1992 and 2014. The result shows that more extreme precipitation was responsible for higher amount of tea production. The results suggest that extreme precipitation intensity was one of the responsible factors for higher amount of tea production in Sylhet and Sreemangal.

Universal linear intensity transformations using spatially incoherent diffractive processors

Under spatially coherent light,a diffractive optical network composed of structured surfaces can be designed to perform any arbitrary complex-valued linear transformation between its input and output fields-of-view(FOVs)if the total number(N)of optimizable phase-only diffractive features is≥~2N_(i)N_(o),where Ni and No refer to the number of useful pixels at the input and the output FOVs,*** we report the design of a spatially incoherent diffractive optical processor that can approximate any arbitrary linear transformation in time-averaged intensity between its input and output *** spatially incoherent monochromatic light,the spatially varying intensity point spread function(H)of a diffractive network,corresponding to a given,arbitrarily-selected linear intensity transformation,can be written as H(m,n;m′,n′)=|h(m,n;m′,n′)|^(2),where h is the spatially coherent point spread function of the same diffractive network,and(m,n)and(m′,n′)define the coordinates of the output and input FOVs,*** numerical simulations and deep learning,supervised through examples of input-output profiles,we demonstrate that a spatially incoherent diffractive network can be trained to all-optically perform any arbitrary linear intensity transformation between its input and output if N≥~2N_(i)N_(o).We also report the design of spatially incoherent diffractive networks for linear processing of intensity information at multiple illumination wavelengths,operating ***,we numerically demonstrate a diffractive network design that performs all-optical classification of handwritten digits under spatially incoherent illumination,achieving a test accuracy of>95%.Spatially incoherent diffractive networks will be broadly useful for designing all-optical visual processors that can work under natural light.

This research project investigates the current status of water supply, sanitation, and hygiene practices in Munshiganj District, Bangladesh. Data collection involved a structured questionnaire and a reconnaissance survey. Findings reveal that 30% of individuals rely on surface water (hand-tube wells, rivers, and ponds), prioritized as canal > river > pond, while 70% depend on groundwater (subterranean electric motor, deep tube-well). Drinking water is generally sufficient, with 95% reporting adequacy throughout the year. About 45% use hand tube-well water, 28% use deep tube-well water, and 11% use supply tap water for various purposes. Bathing trends include underground water through electric motor > pond > hand tube-well water > river, while for cooking, the order is underground water through electric motor > pond > hand tube-well water > river. Toilet water supply ranks as supply tap water > hand tube-well water > deep tube-well water. Although sanitation awareness is high, some lack knowledge of good hygiene practices. After defecating, handwashing methods include soap, ash, soil, or water. Children’s waste disposal varies, with some discarding it in open areas. Approximately 40% suffer from diseases like Diarrhoea due to unsafe water, primarily affecting children and elders. Training exists, but a significant portion lacks sanitation education. Dry skin or exposure to cold water may cause temporary irritation. Local government involvement in sanitation efforts is less active compared to non-governmental organizations. Results emphasize the need to enhance community awareness of safe water supplies and sanitation practices. .

Ensemble learning of diffractive optical networks

A plethora of research advances have emerged in the fields of optics and photonics that benefit from harnessing the power of machine ***,there has been a revival of interest in optical computing hardware due to its potential advantages for machine learning tasks in terms of parallelization,power efficiency and computation *** deep neural networks(D^(2)NNs)form such an optical computing framework that benefits from deep learning-based design of successive diffractive layers to all-optically process information as the input light diffracts through these passive layers.D^(2)NNs have demonstrated success in various tasks,including object classification,the spectral encoding of information,optical pulse shaping and ***,we substantially improve the inference performance of diffractive optical networks using feature engineering and ensemble *** independently training 1252 D^(2)NNs that were diversely engineered with a variety of passive input filters,we applied a pruning algorithm to select an optimized ensemble of D^(2)NNs that collectively improved the image classification *** this pruning,we numerically demonstrated that ensembles of N=14 and N=30 D^(2)NNs achieve blind testing accuracies of 61.14±0.23%and 62.13±0.05%,respectively,on the classification of GFAR-10 test images,providing an inference improvennent of>16%compared to the average performance of the individual D^(2)NNs within each *** results constitute the highest inference accuracies achieved to date by any diffractive optical neural network design on the same dataset and might provide a significant leap to extend the application space of diffractive optical image classification and machine vision systems.

Performance Evaluation of a miniPET Camera for Brain Scanning

A nuclear miniPET camera was constructed with 2 bucket rings, each having 8 BGO detector modules for brain scanning. After calibration of the camera, an experimental investigation of sensitivity was carried out to evaluate the performance of this PET scanner. The characteristics of NECR were examined for comparisons of count rate considering the statistical noise due to scattered and random events. NECR performance was observed using 10 cm diameter phantom filled with 1 L water and 240 MBq of 18F. All data were acquired in 2D acquisition mode but without septa. Randoms were estimated by introducing delay into the coincidence circuit which was an extra 100 ns time delay. Multiples were recorded simultaneously with the prompt and delayed events. The true plus scattered coincidence events were calculated as the difference between prompt and random plus multiple events. After recording all the data, the noise equivalent count rate (NECR) was calculated and graphically presented. It is observed that NEC value is significantly lower than other similar scanners. Comparing the individual components of the count rate, a much higher randoms rate is observed for the camera because of the absence of any side shielding, so that out of field activity contributes significantly to the randoms rate and hence reduces the NECR value.
