Evaluation of Information Technology Implementation for Business Goal Improvement under Process Functionality in Economic Development

Improving organizational performance can be achieved through business process redesign (BPR). When it comes to modern work practices, organizations must often redesign their processes to keep up. This is where enterprise software comes in, offering a common data infrastructure that enables different parts of the organization to access all necessary financial data. The architecture of network accounting business process is divided into three layers. The core layer lies in the enterprise LAN that it can integrate six business processes information into one unity of financial information and non-financial information, including purchasing, inventory, production, sales, finance and customer service, and it can generate flexibly a variety of accounting statements to meet fully the information users’ demands by providing more complete and more valuable related information. The second layer lies in Intranet among enterprises based on the core layer that it can support the link of business processes and the inter-sharing of information among node enterprises of SCM and other external enterprises. The third layer lies in Internet based on the second layer that it can fit society, enterprise and individual together, the specific lays the solid foundation of business collaboration, remote management, online management and centralized management. The operating mechanisms of the network accounting business processes are as follows. When the business event occurs, the probe can get the event information in real-time and the result is stored in the database. Meanwhile, the drive controller can control the business events in real-time by gaining control criteria and standards from database. In case the standard is exceeded, the event is not allowed to occur. Enterprise’ business staff or external personnel can output automatically the required results through report tools if they had the reading authority. Serum Vitamin D Associated with Insulin Secretory Function in Impaired Fasting Glucose Subjects

Background: Impaired fasting glucose (IFG) is a prediabetic condition and is a high-risk state for developing diabetes and associated complications. The aim of this study was to explore the association of vitamin D with insulin secretory function among the IFG subjects. Materials and Methods: This was a prospective cross-sectional study conducted in the Department of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS), Dhaka, Bangladesh;from June 2016 to May 2017, on forty-six (46) IFG subjects. Serum blood glucose was measured by glucose-oxidase method, Fasting serum lipid profile (Total cholesterol, TG and HDL-c);liver enzyme like alanine aminotransferase (ALT) was measured by enzymatic-colorimetric method;Serum creatinine was measured by colorimetric kinetic method;Serum Insulin and vitamin D [25(OH)D] were measured by ELISA method;insulin secretory capacity (HOMA%B) and insulin sensitivity (HOMA%S) were calculated by Homeostasis Model Assessment (HOMA) using HOMA-CIGMA software. Results: Among 46 IFG subjects, 22 (47.8%) were male and rest 24 (52.2%) were female and their mean age was 40 (±8) years. Mean fasting serum glucose level of the study subjects was 6.33 (±0.23) mmol/l and mean postprandial serum glucose level was 7.23 (±0.41) mmol/l. Mean serum vitamin D level of the study subjects was 26.54 (±8.83) ng/ml. Mean HOMA%S, HOMA%B and HOMA%IR of the total study subjects were 48.34 (±16.70), 102.16 (±23.13) and 2.28 (±0.70) respectively. Insulin secretory capacity (HOMA%B) was significantly higher (p = 0.047) in the subjects having higher vitamin D [25(OH)D level ≥ 20 ng/ml] compared to the subjects having lower vitamin D [25(OH)D levels Conclusion: High prevalence of hypovitaminosis D exists among IFG subjects. Vitamin D is associated with insulin secretory function in IFG subjects. Population based prospective studies using larger sample size should be done to confirm the results.

Stature estimation from footprint measurements in Bangladeshi adults

The estimation of stature is very important in forensic investigation,as it provides useful data that can narrow the pool of potentially matching *** purpose of this study was to develop formulae for the estimation of stature from footprint measurements in Bangladeshi *** study included 118 randomly selected men and 130 randomly selected women,all aged 18–50 *** each participant,stature and six footprint measurements were taken by means of standard measurement *** measurements were found to be positively correlated with *** was estimated by using linear regression *** right T1 length in men(R:þ0.587,R^(2):0.345)and the right T2 length in women(R:þ0.506,R^(2):0.256)were the most reliable individual estimators of ***,when data were combined for both sexes,the right T2 length was identified as the most reliable estimator of stature,with higher values of R(þ0.792)and R^(2)(0.627).In conclusion,human stature can be successfully estimated by using footprint measurements;this finding can be applied in forensic research and investigation.

Groundwater arsenic poisoning in a primary educational institution:health risks to school-going children

This study aimed to estimate arsenic(As)and iron(Fe)content in tubewell water(n=58)in primary educational institutions and subsequently assess the health risks to school-going *** described that the As concentration ranged between 0.002 and 0.994 mg L^(-1)with an average value of 0.044 mg L^(-1);which exceeded the World Health Organization(WHO)provisional guideline value of 0.01 mg L^(-1).Similarly,the Fe content varied from 0.05 to 10 mg L^(-1)averaging to 2.84 mg L^(-1).Samples of 55.17%contained a greater As concentration than0.01 mg L^(-1)and 18.97%greater than Bangladesh drinking water quality(BDWQ)standard of 0.05 mg L^(-1),***,75.86%of samples contained a higher Fe concentration than the maximum Bangladesh permissible limit of 1 mg L^(-1).Health risk assessment indicated that girls are more vulnerable than boys *** average hazard quotients(HQs)for As intake through drinking water were 6.01±17.85 and 7.41±22.03 for boys and girls,respectively,implying non-carcinogenic health risks to both *** HQs for Fe intake were less than threshold value of 1 indicating no health issues may arise from Fe intake ***,consumption of As and Fe may trigger health risks to students as indicated by the hazard index(HI),which was higher than *** average cancer risk(CR)values for both boys(0.0027±0.008)and girls(0.0033±0.0099)exceeded the threshold limit of 10-6-10-4,suggesting a possibility of lifetime cancer risks to the school-going ***,school authorities should find alternative ways to ensure safe drinking water for school-going children to avoid possible cancer and non-cancer health risks through consumption of As-poisoning water.

Dietary macronutrients have been regarded as a basic source of energy and amino acids that are necessary for the maintenance of cellular homeostasis,metabolic programming as well as protein *** to the emergence of"nutrigenomics",a unique discipline that combines nutritional and omics technologies to study the impacts of nutrition on genomics,it is increasingly evident that macro nutrients also have a significant role in the gene expression *** expression is a complex phenomenon controlled by several signaling pathways and could be influenced by a wide variety of environmental and physiological *** macronutrients are the most important environmental factor influencing the expression of both genes and microRNAs(miRNA).miRNA are tiny molecules of 18 to 22 nucleotides long that regulate the expression of ***,dietary macro nutrients can influence the expression of genes in both direct and indirect *** advancements in the state-of-the-art technologies regarding molecular genetics,such as next-generation sequencing,quantitative PCR array,and microarray,allowed us to investigate the occurrence of genome-wide changes in the expression of genes in relation to augmented or reduced dietary macronutrient intake,The purpose of this review is to accumulate the current knowledge focusing on macronutrient mediated changes in the gene *** review will discuss the impact of altered dietary carbohydrate,protein,and fat intake on the expression of coding genes and their *** addition,it will also summarize the regulation of miRNA,both cellular and extracellular miRNA,expression modulated by dietary macronutrients.

Analysis of Pedestrian Facilities in CBD Area of Pabna Municipality, Bangladesh

Pabna is one the most densely populated town with poor transport infrastructure in Bangladesh. Here huge pedestriangathers in roads and intersections in CBD （Central Business District） area mainly for commercial and business purposes. At present,pedestrian facilities are one of the greatest challenges in terms of traffic and safety for the urban dwellers. The footpath, zebra rossing,road intersection, walkways, parking and other facilities are the major part of road transportation system as well as pedestrianfacilities and people have to pass walking distance to reach their destinations, before and after use of transport mode. For instance,this paper tries to emphasize the problems of pedestrian facilities and to explore the qualitative level of comfort for the pedestrians ofthree selected intersections namely Traffic More, Indra More and Nimtola More in CBD area of Pabna Municipality through primaryand secondary data. However, about 60% trips are making on foot every day, but the pedestrians are facing many problems whileusing the walkways. Pedestrian crossing behaviors were also observed by using pedestrian volume survey and the survey exploresthat pedestrian crossing rate at these intersections is about 5,000 to 7,000 per hour at a peak period and average 15% to 25% illegalcrossing occurs at those intersections. The physical observation and data from the questionnaire survey also indicate that informalbusiness on the footpath, illegal parking, illegal vendor on walkways, physical obstacle, poor lighting facilities and geometricproblem of the road intersection makes uncomfortable situations for the pedestrian day by day.

Cytotoxic, Antimicrobial and Antioxidant Properties of <i>Commelina diffusa</i>Burm. F.

Commelina diffusa Burm. F. is a herbaceous tropical plant with different traditional medicinal uses. Present study is aimed to isolate the bioactive compounds from DCM-Methanol extract of the powdered whole plant of Commelina diffusa and to investigate the cytotoxic, antimicrobial and antioxidant activities of the crude extract and its twelve vacuum liquid chromatographic fraction (CD1-12). Vacuum Liquid Chromatography (VLC) was employed to isolate bioactive metabolites. The physicochemical properties of the isolated compound were examined and the molecular structure was elucidated by NMR spectroscopy.?Cytotoxic, antibacterial, antioxidant activities were evaluated following brine shrimp lethality bioassay, disc diffusion method and DPPH free radical scavenging assay respectively. The isolated compound was identified as steroid (stigmasterol) which had significant cytotoxic effect on vero cell line. The crude extract and its fractions (CD8-CD12) exhibited strong cytotoxicity in brine shrimp lethality bioassay having LC50 values 3.79, 9.19, 29.49, 16.60, 19.36, 44.58 μg/mL respectively. The crude extract showed mild to strong antibacterial activity. Fractions (CD5-CD12) showed mild to strong antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli in comparison with Kanamycin (standard). Strong antioxidant activities were found in crude extract (IC50 value 30.52 μg/ml), CD11 (IC50 value 39.27 μg/ml) and CD12 (IC50 value 19.50 μg/ml). The study suggests Commelina diffusa plant extract to have strong antioxidant and cytotoxic activity which is indicative of presence of compounds with broad spectrum of curative applications. One compound namely stigmasterol has been isolated from the plant.

Investigation on Effect of Acid Wash with Thermocol Ball on Physical Properties of Knitted Garments

Washing is considered as the final process of garments finishing. Acid washing is one kind of finishing treatment used for making sewn garments aesthetic, fashionable, soft, comfortable and also adding value to the final garments. This paper investigates the effect of the acid washing (with thermocol balls and potassium permanganate) on different physical properties of three knitted garments (Single Jersey 100% Cotton T-shirt, Single Jersey 95% Cotton 5% Spandex T-Shirt and 1 × 1 Rib100% Cotton T-Shirt). Typical washing procedures and techniques were followed and then physical properties were analyzed under standard condition. It is observed that fabric weight, CPI, WPI, spirality and shrinkage increase while bursting strength, stitch length absorbency decrease after washing treatment. pH of all the samples is under controlled and lies between 7 to 8. There is no change in pilling, colorfastness to wash, water and dry rubbing while a little bit decrease in wet rubbing.

Synthesis and Characterization of 2,2’-Bipyridyl-5,5’-Dialdehyde Schiff Bases from O,S,N and F-Containing Amines

Design and synthesis of organic chelating agents containing nitrogen and sulfur as donor atoms and their metal complexes is an interesting field of research for their different types of activities. The bi-dentate N,N chelating agent such as 2,2-Bipyridal has been playing a vital role in synthetic and medicinal chemistry. 2,2-Bipyridal has been used to prepare many mixed-ligand complexes. Different ligand complexes prepared from 2,2-Bipyridyl are used in different areas such as molecular catalysis, solar energy conversion, calorimetric analysis, herbicides, molecular recognition, self-assembly, antineoplastic agents, and nucleic acid probes. Another important property of these types of compounds is the triplet state photosensitizing character of bipyridyl nucleus, which is shown in metal complexes. It is also found that compounds containing O,S,N atoms have received considerable attention because of their pharmacological studies like anticancer, antibacterial, and antitumour activities. Therefore, it has been decided to synthesize Schiff bases derived from 2,2’- bipyridyl-5,5’-dicarbaldehyde compounds with O,S,N and F-containing amines and study their antibacterial properties. Several new Schiff bases have been synthesized and fully characterized by spectral data. This paper presents the synthesis and characterization of newly designed Schiff bases.
