Background Despite the increasing focus on strengthening One Health capacity building on global level, challenges remain in devising and implementing real-world interventions particularly in the Asia-Pacific region. Recognizing these gaps, the One Health Action Commission (OHAC) was established as an academic community for One Health action with an emphasis on research agenda setting to identify actions for highest *** text This viewpoint describes the agenda of, and motivation for, the recently formed OHAC. Recognizing the urgent need for evidence to support the formulation of necessary action plans, OHAC advocates the adoption of both bottom-up and top-down approaches to identify the current gaps in combating zoonoses, antimicrobial resistance, addressing food safety, and to enhance capacity building for context-sensitive One Health *** By promoting broader engagement and connection of multidisciplinary stakeholders, OHAC envisions a collaborative global platform for the generation of innovative One Health knowledge, distilled practical experience and actionable policy advice, guided by strong ethical principles of One Health.

An Efficient Reference Free Adaptive Learning Process for Speech Enhancement Applications

In issues like hearing impairment,speech therapy and hearing aids play a major role in reducing the *** of noise signals from speech signals is a key task in hearing aids as well as in speech *** the transmission of speech signals,several noise components contaminate the actual speech *** paper addresses a new adaptive speech enhancement(ASE)method based on a modified version of singular spectrum analysis(MSSA).The MSSA generates a reference signal for ASE and makes the ASE is free from feeding reference *** MSSA adopts three key steps for generating the reference from the contaminated speech *** are decomposition,grouping and *** generated reference is taken as a reference for variable size adaptive learning *** this work two categories of adaptive learning algorithms are *** are step variable adaptive learning(SVAL)algorithm and time variable step size adaptive learning(TVAL).Further,sign regressor function is applied to adaptive learning algorithms to reduce the computational complexity of the proposed adaptive learning *** performance measures of the proposed schemes are calculated in terms of signal to noise ratio improvement(SNRI),excess mean square error(EMSE)and misadjustment(MSD).For cockpit noise these measures are found to be 29.2850,-27.6060 and 0.0758 dB respectively during the experiments using SVAL *** considering the reduced number of multiplications the sign regressor version of SVAL based ASE method is found to better then the counter parts.

Over the past few decades,complementary and alternative treatments have become increasingly popular *** purported therapeutic characteristics of natural products have come under increased scrutiny both in vitro and in vivo as part of efforts to legitimize their *** such product is tea tree oil(TTO),a volatile essential oil primarily obtained from the native Australian plant,Melaleuca alternifolia,which has diverse traditional and industrial applications such as topical preparations for the treatment of skin *** anti-inflammatory-linked immunomodulatory actions have also been *** systematic review focuses on the anti-inflammatory effects of TTO and its main components that have shown strong immunomodulatory *** extensive literature search was performed electronically for data curation on worldwide accepted scientific databases,such as Web of Science,Google Scholar,PubMed,ScienceDirect,Scopus,and esteemed publishers such as Elsevier,Springer,Frontiers,and Taylor&*** that the majority of pharmacological studies were conducted on crude oils only,the extracted data were critically analyzed to gain further insight into the prospects of TTO being used as a neuroprotective agent by drug formulation or dietary *** addition,the active constituents contributing to the activity of TTO have not been well justified,and the core mechanisms need to be unveiled especially for anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects leading to ***,this review attempts to correlate the anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory activity of TTO with its neuroprotective mechanisms.

Left-turn phasing selection considering vehicle to vehicle and vehicle to pedestrian conflicts

Left-turning vehicle movement at signalized intersections with permissive left-turn phases creates safety concerns due to the higher chance of conflict with opposing-through vehicles and *** this research,a simulation-based study was conducted to evaluate pedestrians’impact on traffic conflicts between left-turning vehicles and opposing-through vehicles(V-V conflicts)as well as traffic conflicts between left-turning vehicles and pedestrians(V-P conflicts)in the permissive left-turn phasing *** with different opposing-through volumes,left-turn volumes,number of opposing-through lanes,and pedestrian volumes were modeled in VISSIM,a traffic *** surrogate safety assessment model(SSAM)was used to estimate the number of V-V and VP *** effect of pedestrian presence on V-V and V-P conflicts was evaluated using simulation scenarios with and without pedestrian *** results revealed that pedestrian presence increased both V-V and V-P *** pedestrian presence increased the total number of traffic conflicts,permissive left-turn phasing processed fewer left-turn vehicles to maintain the same level of intersection safety with pedestrian presence compared to the no-pedestrian *** current left-turn phasing decision guidelines do not consider the impacts of pedestrian presence,this research quantified pedestrian-influenced and pedestrian-involved left-turn traffic conflicts to determine appropriate left-turn signal phasing decisions to ensure safe and efficient crossing of pedestrians and vehicles at signalized *** simulation-based study’s findings can be beneficial in the decision making of left-turn phasing selection as the before-after intersection safety performance analysis by collecting field data often resources intensive.

Motile Aeromonads are responsible for various diseases in fishes that cause significant economic losses in *** *** also frequently isolated from fish suffering from Epizootic Ulcerative Syndrome(EUS).The present study was conducted to isolate and identify *** from Vietnam climbing perch(Anabas testudineus)suffering from EUS,evaluate the pathogenicity of the isolates,and find out antibiogram profile and susceptibility of the isolates to medicinal plant *** climbing perch(***)suffering from EUS was collected from fish farms located at Savar,Dhaka and bacteria were isolated from the external ulcerative lesion,and kidney and liver of the infected fish on nutrient agar *** phenotypic identification of the bacterial isolates was performed following morphological,physiological and biochemical characterization *** 16S rRNA gene sequencing was accomplished for further molecular identification of five selected *** evaluate the pathogenicity of the isolates in vivo artificial infection challenge test was conducted through immersion *** in vivo pathogenicity test was done at three different temperatures(18◦C,28◦C,and 37◦C)to examine the effects of temperature on the pathogenicity of the *** commercial antibiotics were used to find out the antibiogram profile of the ***,susceptibility of the isolates was screened against 19 medicinal plants extracts.A total of 38 out of 46 isolates isolated from Vietnam climbing perch(***)suffering from EUS were phenotypically identified as Aeromonas *** randomly selected isolates were further confirmed as *** by analyzing the 16S rRNA gene sequence *** pathogenicity of the isolates was found moderate to high(41%-80%mortality)in the artificially challenged *** highest and lowest mortality was obtained in the fish challenged with the isolates BFKA33 and BFKA12,*** isolates were found resis

Determinants of emergency contraceptive pill use in Bangladesh: An analysis of national survey data

Objective:To examine the determinants of emergency contraceptive pill use in ***:Data for this cross-sectional study came from 2017-2018 Bangladesh Demographic and Health *** of 906 reproductive age women who were potential candidates for using emergency contraceptive pill were analysed in this *** were analysed using univariate and multivariate *** binary logistic regression was employed as multivariate ***:Only 10.9%candidates were found to ever use emergency contraceptive *** odds of using emergency contraceptive pill for women visited by family planning field worker was significantly higher than that for those who were not visited by family planning field worker[odds ratio(OR)1.94;95%confidence interval(CI)1.19–3.17;P=0.008],while the odds of using emergency contraceptive pill for women with high socioeconomic status was higher than that for those with low socioeconomic status(OR 3.10;95%CI 1.61–5.97;P=0.001).Additionally,having some media access was linked to an increase in the odds of using emergency contraceptive pill(OR 3.01;95%CI 1.33–6.83;P=0.008).Women empowerment related factors did not show any significant effect on emergency contraceptive pill ***:The findings indicate that family planning programme has a great opportunity of playing an important role in increasing emergency contraceptive pill use in Bangladesh by increasing the knowledge and awareness of women about emergency contraceptive pill.

River water and sediment embody environmental characteristics that give valuable eco-environmental *** to rapid industrialization,the aquatic environment of any urban river can be seriously polluted by heavy metals(HMs).The global concern is caused by heavy metal pollution because of its potential harm to aquatic ecosystems and human *** the Bhairab River,Bangladesh,surface sediment concentrations of globally alarming toxic metals such as arsenic(As),chromium(Cr),cadmium(Cd),and lead(Pb) were measured to determine the ecological and human health risks of the riverine *** average As,Cr,Cd,and Pb concentrations in water were 3.55,31.74,1.44,and23.82 μg/L,respectively,and in sediment were 4.13,34.17,1.66,and 25.46 mg/kg,*** the winter,metals in sediment were higher than during the *** most sediment samples,the enrichment factor(EF),contamination factor(CF),geoaccumulation index(I),pollution load index(PLI) of As,Cr,Cd,and Pb indicated moderate *** potential ecological risk(PER) in sediment followed the descending order of Cd> As> Pb> *** contamination level of toxic metals implied that the condition is frightening and probably severely affecting the aquatic ecology of this riverine ecosystem.

Metamaterial-Based Compact Antenna with Defected Ground Structure for 5G and Beyond

In this paper,a unit cell of a single-negative metamaterial structure loaded with a meander line and defected ground structure(DGS)is investigated as the principle radiating element of an *** unit cell antenna causes even or odd mode resonances similar to the unit cell structure depending on the orientation of the microstrip feed used to excite the unit ***,the orientation which gives low-frequency resonance is considered *** unit cell antenna is then loaded with a meander line which is parallel to the split bearing side and connects the other two sides orthogonal to the split bearing *** modified structure excites another mode of resonance at high frequency when a meander line defect is loaded on the metallic ground *** parameters of the meander line structure,the DGS shape,and the unit cell are optimized to place these two resonances at different frequencies with proper frequency intervals to enhance the ***,the feed is placed in an offset position for better impedance matching without affecting the bandwidth The compact dimension of the antenna is 0.25λL×0.23λL×0.02λL,whereλL is the free space wavelength with respect to the center frequency of the impedance *** proposed antenna is fabricated and *** results reveal that the modified design gives monopole like radiation patterns which achieves a fractional operating bandwidth of 26.6%,from 3.26 to 4.26 GHz for|S11|<−10 dB and a pick gain of 1.26 dBi is *** addition,the simulated and measured crosspolarization levels are both less than−15 dB in the horizontal plane.
