Type 1 diabetes(T1D)is an autoimmune disease that selectively destroys insulin-producingβ-cells in the *** unmet need in diabetes management,current therapy is focussed on *** the reprogramming of progenitor cells into functional insulin-producingβ-cells has also been proposed this remains controversial and poorly *** challenge is determining why default transcriptional suppression is refractory to exocrine *** the death of a 13-year-old girl with established insulin-dependent T1D,pancreatic cells were harvested in an effort to restore and understand exocrine *** pancreas showed classic silencing ofβ-cell progenitor genes with barely detectable insulin(Ins)***126,a highly selective inhibitor of EZH2 methyltransferase activity influenced H3K27me3 chromatin content and transcriptional control resulting in the expression of coreβ-cell markers and ductal progenitor ***126 also reinstated Ins gene expression despite absoluteβ-cell *** studies show the refractory nature of chromatin characterises exocrine suppression influencingβ-cell *** regeneration studies are warranted to determine if the approach of this n-of-1 study generalises to a broader T1D population.

This review will focus on the more abundant eggshell specific matrix proteins localized in the chicken eggshell （cuticle layer eggshell matrix and shell membranes） that are involved in eggshell mineralization and protecting the egg against microbial contamination, including ovocalyxin-36, ovocleidin-17, ovocalyxin-32 and ovocalyxin-25. Further understanding of these proteins and their mechanisms in egg defence could lead to the development of novel neutraceuticals for human health, additives to animal feed for healthy flocks, or enhanced eggs for human consumption.

Prostate cancer (Pca) represents the most frequent urologic diagnosis in elderly males. We have previously shown that exposure of prostate to lipopolysaccharide (LPS) promotes cancer risk. We investigated the effect of non-selective cyclooxygenase (cOX) inhibition on prostate inflammation-mediated cancer risk in vivo. The prostates of male rats were inoculated with E. coli as sources of inflammatory molecules (LPS) and were treated with cOX inhibitor, aspirin 2 mg/Kg orally for 14 days or PBS. Oxidative stress was induced with two 2 mls of hydrogen peroxide orally twice daily or PBS for 14 days;they were either treated with cOX inhibitor or PBS for another 14 days. Blood was collected and analyzed for acid phosphatase and PSA. Data showed presences of LPS in the prostate of the rats resulted in gradual increase in PSA when compared to control (P cOX inhibition resulted in statistically significant reduction in concentration of PSA level compared to control group (P chanism was involved in the inflammation mediated increase in PSA, data showed that rats exposed to H2O2 had 2.5 fold increase in acid phosphatase (AcP) compared control (P cOX activity, a statistically significant reduction in AcP from 11.2 IU/L ± 0.67 to 5.7 IU/L ± 0.347 (P ce increased in PSA was associated to cancer risk, our data suggested that inflammation mediated prostate cancer risk was reversible by Inhibition of cOX Activity in rats.

Sub-Saharan Africa is currently undergoing an epidemiological transition from a disease burden largely attributable to communicable diseases to that resulting from a combination of both communicable and chronic non-communicable *** on chronic disease incidence,lifestyle,environmental and genetic risk factors are sparse in this *** report aimed at providing relevant information in respect to risk factors that increase blood pressure and lead to development of intermediate cardiovascular *** presented the rationale,objectives and key methodological features of the Nigerian Population Research on Environment,Gene and Health（NIPREGH） *** challenges encountered in carrying out population study in this part of the world and the approaches at surmounting them were also *** preliminary data as at 20 November 2013 showed that out of the 205 individuals invited starting from early April 2013,160（72 women） consented and were enrolled;giving a response rate of 78%.Participants＇ age ranged from 18 to 80 years,with a mean（SD） of 39.8（12.4） years and they were of 34 different ethnic groups spread over 24 states out of the 36 states that constitute *** mean（SD） of office and home blood pressures were 113.0（15.2） mm Hg systolic,73.5（12.5） mm Hg diastolic and 117.3（15.0） mm Hg systolic,and 76.0（9.6） mm Hg diastolic,***-three（26.8%） participants were hypertensive and 8（5.0%） were *** addition to having the unique potential of recruiting a cohort that is a true representative of the entire Nigerian population,NIPREGH is feasible and the objectives realisable.

Nitrogen doping of the carbon is an important method to improve the performance and durability of catalysts for proton exchange membrane fuel cells by platinum–nitrogen and carbon–nitrogen bonds. This study shows that p-phenyl groups and graphitic N acting bridges linking platinum and the graphene/carbon black(the ratio graphene/carbon black = 2/3) hybrid support materials achieved the average size of platinum nanoparticles with(4.88 ± 1.79) nm. It improved the performance of the lower-temperature hydrogen fuel cell up to 0.934 W cm^(-2) at 0.60 V, which is 1.55 times greater than that of commercial Pt/c. Doping also enhanced the interaction between Pt and the support materials, and the resistance to corrosion, thus improving the durability of the low-temperature hydrogen fuel cell with a much lower decay of 10 mV at 0.80 A cm^(-2) after 30 k cycles of an in-situ accelerated stress test of catalyst degradation than that of 92 mV in Pt/c, which achieves the target of Department of Energy(cB_(3) remains 78% of initial power density at 1.5 A cm^(-2) after 5 k cycles of in-situ accelerated stress test of carbon corrosion, which is more stable than the power density of commercial Pt/c, keeping only 54% after accelerated stress test.

The magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) graphene-polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) nanofluid flow between two squeezing parallel plates in the presence of thermal radiation effects is investigated. The energy efficiency of the system via the Bejan number is studied extensively. The governing partial differential equations are converted by using the similarity transformations into a set of coupled ordinary differential equations. The set of these converted equations is solved by using the differential transform method (DTM). The entropy generation in terms of the Bejan number, the coefficient of skin-friction, and the heat transfer rate is furthermore investigated under the effects of various physical parameters of interest. The present study shows that the Bejan number, the velocity and thermal profiles, and the rate of heat transfer decrease with a rise in the Deborah number De while the skin-friction coefficient increases. It is also observed that the entropy generation due to frictional forces is higher than that due to thermal effects. Thus, the study bears the potential application in powder technology as well as in biomedical engineering.
