Pancreatic adenocarcinoma(PDAC)is one of the most deadly cancers,characterized by extremely limited therapeutic options and a poor prognosis,as it is often diagnosed during late disease *** and selective treatments are urgently needed,since current therapies have limited efficacy and significant side *** proteomics analysis of extracellular vesicles,we discovered an imbalanced distribution of amino acids secreted by PDAC tumor *** findings revealed that PDAC cells preferentially excrete proteins with certain preferential amino acids,including isoleucine and histidine,via extracellular *** amino acids are associated with disease progression and can be targeted to elicit selective toxicity to PDAC tumor *** in vitro and in vivo experiments demonstrated that supplementation with these specific amino acids effectively eradicated PDAC ***,we also identified XRN1 as a potential target for these amino *** high selectivity of this treatment method allows for specific targeting of tumor metabolism with very low toxicity to normal ***,we found this treatment approach is easy-to-administer and with sustained tumor-killing ***,our findings reveal that exocytosed amino acids may serve as therapeutic targets for designing treatments of intractable PDAC and potentially offer alternative treatments for other types of cancers.

Edge preserved smoothing techniques have gained importance for the purpose of image processing applications A good edge preserving filter is given by nonlocal-means filter rather than any other linear model based approaches. This paper explores a different approach of nonlocal-means filter by using robust M-estimator function rather than the exponential function for its weight calculation. Here the filter output at each pixel is the weighted average of pixels with surrounding neighborhoods using the chosen robust M-estimator function. The main direction of this paper is to identify the best robust M-estimator function for nonlocal-means denoising algorithm. In order to speed up the computation, a new patch classification method is followed to eliminate the uncorrelated patches from the weighted averaging process. This patch classification approach compares favorably to existing techniques in respect of quality versus computational time. Validations using standard test images and brain atlas images have been analyzed and the results were compared with the other known methods. It is seen that there is reason to believe that the proposed refined technique has some notable points.

The thermodynamic features of the Reiner-Rivlin nanoliquid flow induced by a spinning disk are analyzed *** non-homogeneous two-phase nanofluid model is considered to analyze the effect of nanoparticles on the thermodynamics of the Reiner-Rivlin nanomaterial,which also includes a temperature-dependent heat source(THS)and an exponential space-dependent heat source(ESHS).Further,the transfer of heat and mass is analyzed with velocity slip,volume fraction j.mp,and temperature j.mp boundary *** finite difference method-based routine is used to solve the complicated differential equations formed after using the von-Karman similarity *** cases of the present problem are found to be in good agreement with benchmarking *** relationship of the pertinent parameters with the heat and mass transport is scrutinized using correlation,which is further evaluated based on the probable error *** models are fitted for the friction factor at the disk and heat transport,which accurately predict the dependent *** Reiner-Rivlin nanoliquid temperature is influenced comparatively more by the ESHS than by *** Nusselt number is decreased by the ESHS and THS,whereas the friction factor at the disk is predominantly decremented by the wall roughness *** increment in the non-Newtonian characteristic of the liquid leads more fluid to drain away in the radial direction far from the disk compared with the fluid nearby the disk in the presence of the centrifugal force during *** increased thermal and volume fraction slip lowers the nanoliquid temperature and nanoparticle volume fraction profiles.

Obj.ctive: To evaluate the in vitro and in vivo inhibitory effects of two commonly used herbs, Aframomum melengueta(A. melengueta) and Dennettia tripetala(D. tripetala) on CYP 3A enzymes. Methods: In vitro inhibition of the enzymes were assessed with microsomes extracted from female albino rats using erythromycin-N-demethylation assay(EMND) method while their in vivo effects were measured by estimating simvastatin plasma concentrations in rats. Pharmacokinetic parameters were determined using non-compartmental anaysis as implemented in Win Nonlin pharmacokinetic program. Results: EMND assay with intestinal microsomes indicated that aqueous extracts of D. tripetala and A. melengueta significantly(P l CYP 3A activity at both 50 μg and 100 μg concentrations. Petroleum ether extract of D. tripetala and ethanol extracts of A. melengueta inhibited intestinal CYP3 A activity at 100 μg but not at 50 μg concentrations. All the extracts showed an in vitrodose dependent CYP 3A inhibition with liver microsomes. In vivo analysis showed that pretreatment with the extracts enhanced systemic absorption of simvastatin with reductions in metabolizing enzymes activity as indicated in significant increases in maximal concentration, area under curve, area under moment curve and mean resident time of simvastatin(P lusions: Herbal preparations containing these plants' extracts should be used with caution especially in patients on CYP450 3A substrate medications.

The problem of phase retrieval underlies various imaging methods from astronomy to nanoscale *** phase retrieval methods are iterative and are therefore computationally *** learning(Dl)models have been developed to either provide learned priors or completely replace phase ***,such models require vast amounts of labeled data,which can only be obtained through simulation or performing computationally prohibitive phase retrieval on experimental *** 3D X-ray Bragg coherent diffraction imaging(BCDI)as a representative technique,we demonstrate AutoPhaseNN,a Dl-based approach which learns to solve the phase problem without labeled *** incorporating the imaging physics into the Dl model during training,AutoPhaseNN learns to invert 3D BCDI data in a single shot without ever being shown real space *** trained,AutoPhaseNN can be effectively used in the 3D BCDI data inversion about 100×faster than iterative phase retrieval methods while providing comparable image quality.
