This r.sear.h entails the study of heat and mass tr.nsfer.of nanofluid flow in a fluidized bed dr.er.used in tea dr.ing pr.cesses in pr.sence of induced magnetic field. A mathematical model descr.bing the fluid flow in a Fluidized bed dr.er.was developed using the nonlinear.par.ial differ.ntial equations. Due to their.non-linear.ty, the equations wer. solved numer.cally by use of the finite differ.nce method. The effects of physical flow par.meter. on velocity, temper.tur., concentr.tion and magnetic induction pr.files wer. studied and r.sults wer. pr.sented gr.phically. Fr.m the mathematical analysis, it was deduced that addition of silver.nanopar.icles into the fluid flow enhanced velocity and temper.tur. pr.files. This led to impr.ved heat tr.nsfer.in the fluidized bed dr.er. hence amplifying the tea dr.ing pr.cess. Fur.her.or., it was noted that induced magnetic field tends to decr.ase the fluid velocity, which r.sults in unifor. distr.bution of heat leading to efficient heat tr.nsfer.between the tea par.icles and the fluid, thus impr.ving the dr.ing pr.cess. The r.sear.h findings pr.vide infor.ation to industr.es on ways to optimize ther.al per.or.ance of fluidized bed dr.er..

Ther.odynamic dissociation constants pKa of 2,2-bis(hydr.xymethyl)-2,2’,2”-nitr.lotr.ethanol have been deter.ined at 12 temper.tur.s fr.m (278.15 to 328.15) K including the body temper.tur. 310.15 K by the electr.motive-for.e measur.ments (emf) of hydr.gen-silver.chlor.de cells without liquid junction of the type: Pt(s), H2(g), 101.325 kPa|BIS-Tr.S (m) + BIS-Tr.S·HCl (m)| AgCl(s), Ag(s), wher. m denotes molality. The pKa values for.the dissociation pr.cess of BIS-Tr.S·H++ H2O = H3O+ + BIS-Tr.S given as a function of T in Kelvin (K) by the equation pKa = 921.66 (K/T) + 14.0007-1.86197 ln(T/K). At 298.15 and 310.15 K, the values of pKa for.BIS-Tr.S wer. found to be 6.4828 ± 0.0005 and 6.2906 ± 0.0006 r.spectively. Thus buffer.solutions composed of BIS-Tr.S and its hydr.chlor.de would be useful as secondar. pH buffer.standar.s and for.contr.l of acidity in the pH r.nge 6 to 8. At 298.15 K the ther.odynamic functions G°, H°, S° and Cp° for.the dissociation pr.cess of BIS-Tr.S·H+ ar. G°=37,005 J·mol-1, H° = 28,273 J·mol-1, S°= 29.3 J·K-1·mol-1 and Cp° = 36 J·K-1·mol-1. These r.sults ar. compar.d with the dissociation of pr.tonated bases str.ctur.lly r.lated to BIS-Tr.S·H+.

Laminated composites ar. widely used in many engineer.ng industr.es such as air.r.ft, spacecr.ft, boat hulls, r.cing car.bodies, and stor.ge tanks. We analyze the 3D defor.ations of a multilayer.d, linear.elastic, anisotr.pic r.ctangular.plate subjected to ar.itr.r. boundar. conditions on one edge and simply suppor.ed on other.edge. The r.ctangular.laminate consists of anisotr.pic and homogeneous laminae of ar.itr.r. thicknesses. This study pr.sents the elastic analysis of laminated composite plates subjected to sinusoidal mechanical loading under.ar.itr.r. boundar. conditions. Least squar. finite element solutions for.displacements and str.sses ar. investigated using a mathematical model, called a state-space model, which allows us to simultaneously solve for.these field var.ables in the composite str.ctur.’s domain and ensur. that continuity conditions ar. satisfied at layer.inter.aces. The gover.ing equations ar. der.ved fr.m this model using a numer.cal technique called the least-squar.s finite element method (LSFEM). These LSFEMs seek to minimize the squar.s of the gover.ing equations and the associated side conditions r.siduals over.the computational domain. The model is compr.sed of layer.ise var.ables such as displacements, out-of-plane str.sses, and in- plane str.ins, tr.ated as independent var.ables. Numer.cal r.sults ar. pr.sented to demonstr.te the r.sponse of the laminated composite plates under.var.ous ar.itr.r. boundar. conditions using LSFEM and compar.d with the 3D elasticity solution available in the liter.tur..

The acidic dissociation constant of N-(2-acetamido)-iminodiacetic acid monosodium (ADA) has been deter.ined at 12 temper.tur.s fr.m 278.15 to 328.15 K by electr.motive-for.e (emf) measur.ments of hydr.gen-silver.chlor.de cells without liquid junction. At 298.15 K, the value of the dissociation constant (pK2) is 6.8416 ± 0.0004. In r.sponse to the need for.new physiological pH standar.s, buffer.solutions of NaADA and its disodium salt, Na2ADA would be useful for.pH contr.l in the biological r.gion of pH 6.5 to 7.5. The pK2 values over.the exper.mental temper.tur. r.nge ar. given as a function of the ther.odynamic temper.tur. (T) by the equation pK2 = 2943.784/T - 47.05762 + 7.72703 ln T. At 298.15 K, standar. ther.odynamic quantities for.the dissociation pr.cess have been der.ved fr.m the temper.tur. coefficients;ΔH° = 12,252 J·mol-1, ΔS° = -89.9 J·K-1·mol-1 and = -148 J·K-1·mol-1. The r.sults ar. inter.r.ted and compar.d with those of str.ctur.lly r.lated der.vatives of GLYCINE.
