Objective: To assess the efficacy of intravenous tranexamic acid and ethamsylate in reducing blood loss during and after elective lower segment cesarean delivery in patients at high risk for postpartum hemorrhage. Methods: A double-blind, randomized placebo-controlled study was undertaken of women undergoing elective lower-segment cesarean delivery of a full-term pregnancy at high risk for postpartum hemorrhage at Ain Sham University Maternity Hospital in Cairo, Egypt, between January 2019 and October 2019. Patients were randomly assigned (1:1) using computer-generated random numbers to receive either 1 g tranexamic acid and 1 gm ethamsylate or 5% glucose (placebo) just after delivery of the fetus. Prophylactic oxytocin was administered to all women. Preoperative and postoperative complete blood count, hematocrit values, and maternal weight were used to calculate the estimated blood loss (EBL) during the cesarean, which was the primary outcome. Results: Analyses included 32 women in each group. Our results showed that tranexamic acid and ethamsylate significantly reduced bleeding during and after cesarean delivery. This research paper describes the design and implementation of the Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems (CCSDS) standards REF _Ref401069962 \r \h \* mERGEFORmAT [1] for Space Data Link Layer Protocol (SDLP). The primer focus is the telecommand (TC) part of the standard. The implementation of the standard was in the form of DLL functions using C++ programming language. The second objective of this paper was to use the DLL functions with OmNeT++ simulating environment to create a simulator in order to analyze the mean end-to-end Packet Delay, maximum achievable application layer throughput for a given fixed link capacity and normalized protocol overhead, defined as the total number of bytes transmitted on the link in a given period of time (e.g. per second) divided by the number of bytes of application data received at the application layer model data sink. In addition, the DLL was also integrated with Ground Support Equipment Operating System (GSEOS), a software system for space instruments and small spacecrafts especially suited for low budget missions. The SDLP is designed for rapid test system design and high flexibility for changing telemetry and command requirements. GSEOS can be seamlessly moved from Em/Fm development (bench testing) to flight operations. It features the Python programming language as a configuration/scripting tool and can easily be extended to accommodate custom hardware interfaces. This paper also shows the results of the simulations and its analysis.

Several studies have shown the benefits of monolith catalyst in three-phase reactions. In the present work, performance of a monolith cocurrent downflow contactor (m-CDC) reactor was investigated for selective hydrogenation of butyne-1,4-diol. The reaction was catalysed by palladium that was impregnated on the monolith by dipping technique. The best performance of the reactor was observed under Taylor flow that was readily obtained in even simple design and operational procedure of m-CDC. Inherent characteristics of bubbly region in the free-monolith section has allowed simple introduction of bubbles into the monolith channels with excellent distribution. Reaction rates were found to be affected by penetration of bubble dispersion, temperature, pressure, initial butyne-1,4-diol concentration and base addition. In general, selectivity towards the intermediate butene-1,4-diol reached more than 95% at complete conversion. As summary, the m-CDC has a promising performance in substituting conventional fixed bed three phase reactors that often suffers bad gas-liquid distribution, considerable pressure drop and significant diffusional resistances, thus lowering reaction rates and selectivity.

Skeletal stem and progenitor cells(SSPCs) perform bone maintenance and repair. With age, they produce fewer osteoblasts and more adipocytes leading to a loss of skeletal integrity. The molecular mechanisms that underlie this detrimental transformation are largely unknown. Single-cell RNA sequencing revealed that Notch signaling becomes elevated in SSPCs during aging. To examine the role of increased Notch activity, we deleted Nicastrin, an essential Notch pathway component, in SSPCs in vivo. middle-aged conditional knockout mice displayed elevated SSPC osteo-lineage gene expression, increased trabecular bone mass, reduced bone marrow adiposity, and enhanced bone repair. Thus, Notch regulates SSPC cell fate decisions, and moderating Notch signaling ameliorates the skeletal aging phenotype, increasing bone mass even beyond that of young mice. Finally, we identified the transcription factor Ebf3 as a downstream mediator of Notch signaling in SSPCs that is dysregulated with aging, highlighting it as a promising therapeutic target to rejuvenate the aged skeleton.

The particle swarm optimization(PSO)algorithm is an established nature-inspired population-based meta-heuristic that replicates the synchronizing movements of birds and *** is essentially an unconstrained algorithm and requires constraint handling techniques(ChTs)to solve constrained optimization problems(COPs).For this purpose,we integrate two ChTs,the superiority of feasibility(SF)and the violation constraint-handling(VCh),with a *** ChTs distinguish feasible solutions from infeasible ***,in SF,the selection of infeasible solutions is based on their degree of constraint violations,whereas in VCh,the number of constraint violations by an infeasible solution is of more ***,a PSO is adapted for constrained optimization,yielding two constrained variants,denoted SF-PSO and *** SF-PSO and VCh-PSO are evaluated with respect to ve engineering problems:the himmelblau’s nonlinear optimization,the welded beam design,the spring design,the pressure vessel design,and the three-bar truss *** simulation results show that both algorithms are consistent in terms of their solutions to these problems,including their different available *** of the SF-PSO and the VChPSO with other existing algorithms on the tested problems shows that the proposed algorithms have lower computational cost in terms of the number of function evaluations *** also report our disagreement with some unjust comparisons made by other researchers regarding the tested problems and their different variants.

Continuously growing incisors are common to all rodents, which include the microtus genus of voles. however, unlike many rodents, voles also possess continuously growing molars. here, we report spontaneous molar defects in a population of Prairie voles （microtus ochrogaster）. We identified bilateral protuberances on the ventral surface of the mandible in several voles in our colony. In some cases, the protuberances broke through the cortical bone. The mandibular molars became exposed and infected, and the maxillary molars entered the cranial vault. Visualisation upon soft tissue removal and microcomputed tomography （microCT） analyses confirmed that the protuberances were caused by the overgrowth of the apical ends of the molar teeth. We speculate that the unrestricted growth of the molars was due to the misregulation of the molar dental stem cell niche. Further study of this molar phenotype may yield additional insight into stem cell regulation and the evolution and development of continuously growing teeth.
