Millimeter-wave(mmWave)band(30–300 GHz)is an emerging spectrum range for wireless communication,short-range radar,and sensor ***-optic modulators that could efficiently convert mmWave signals into the optical domain are crucial components for long-haul transmission of mmWave signals through optical *** these ultrahigh frequencies,however,the modulation performances are highly sensitive to the transmission line loss as well as the velocity-and impedance-matching conditions,while precise measurements and modeling of these parameters are often *** we present a systematic investigation of the mmWave-optic modulation performances of thin-film lithium niobate modulators through theoretical modeling,electrical verifications,and electro-optic measurements at frequencies up to 325 *** on our experimentally verified model,we demonstrate thin-film lithium niobate mmWave-optic modulators with a measured 3-dB electro-optic bandwidth of 170 GHz and a 6-dB bandwidth of 295 *** device also shows a low RF half-wave voltage of 7.3 V measured at an ultrahigh modulation frequency of 250 *** work provides a comprehensive guideline for the design and characterization of mmWave-optic modulators and paves the way toward future integrated mmWave photonic systems for beyond-5G communication and radar applications.

Lithium niobate on insulator(LNOI)has become an intriguing platform for integrated photonics for applications in communications,microwave photonics,and ***,integrated devices including modulators,resonators,and lasers with high performance have been recently realized on the LNOI platform,high-speed photodetectors,an essential building block in photonic integrated circuits,have not been demonstrated on LNOI ***,we demonstrate for the first time,heterogeneously integrated modified uni-traveling carrier photodiodes on LNOI with a record-high bandwidth of 80 GHz and a responsivity of 0.6 A/W at a 1550-nm *** photodiodes are based on an n-down In GaAs/InP epitaxial layer structure that was optimized for high carrier transit time-limited *** integration was achieved using a scalable wafer die bonding approach that is fully compatible with the LNOI platform.

The recent advancement in lithium-niobite-on-insulator(LNOI)technology is opening up new opportunities in optoelectronics,as devices with better performance,lower power consumption and a smaller footprint can be realised due to the high optical confinement in the *** LNOI platform offers both largeχ(2)andχ(3)nonlinearities along with the power of dispersion engineering,enabling brand new nonlinear photonic devices and applications for the next generation of integrated photonic ***,Raman scattering and its interaction with other nonlinear processes have not been extensively studied in dispersion-engineered LNOI *** this work,we characterise the Raman radiation spectra in a monolithic lithium niobate(LN)microresonator via selective excitation of Raman-active phonon *** dominant mode for the Raman oscillation is observed in the backward direction for a continuous-wave pump threshold power of 20mW with a high differential quantum efficiency of 46%.We explore the effects of Raman scattering on Kerr optical frequency comb *** achieve mode-locked states in an X-cut LNOI chip through sufficient suppression of the Raman effect via cavity geometry *** analysis of the Raman effect provides guidance for the development of future chip-based photonic devices on the LNOI platform.

Background:The European Society for Medical Oncology(ESMO)guidelines are among the most comprehensive and widely used clinical practice guidelines(CPGs)***,the level of scientific evidence supporting ESMO CPG recommendations has not been systematically *** study assessed ESMO CPG levels of evidence(LOE)and grades of recommendations(GOR),as well as their trends over time across various cancer ***:We manually extracted every recommendation with the Infectious Diseases Society of America(IDSA)classification from each *** examined the distribution of LOE and GOR in all available ESMO CPG guidelines across different topics and cancer ***:Among the 1,823 recommendations in the current CPG,30%were classified as LOEⅠ,and 43%were classified as GOR ***,there was a slight decrease in LOEⅠ(−2%)and an increase in the proportion of GOR A(+1%)in the current CPG compared to previous *** proportion of GOR A recommendations based on higher levels of evidence such as randomized trials(LOEⅠ–Ⅱ)shows a decrease(71%vs.63%,p=0.009)while recommendations based on lower levels of evidence(LOEⅢ–Ⅴ)show an increase(29%vs.37%,p=0.01)between previous and current *** the current versions,the highest proportion of LOEⅠ(42%)was found in recommendations related to pharmacotherapy,while the highest proportion of GOR A recommendations was found in the areas of pathology(50%)and diagnostic(50%)*** variability in LOEⅠand GOR A recommendations and their changes over time was observed across different cancer ***:One-third of the current ESMO CPG recommendations are supported by the highest level of *** well-designed randomized clinical trials are needed to increase the proportion of LOEⅠand GOR A recommendations,ultimately leading to improved outcomes for cancer patients.

We directly measure optical bound states in the continuum(BICs)by embedding a photodetector into a photonic crystal *** BICs observed in our experiment are the result of accidental phase matching between incident,reflected and in-plane waves at seemingly random wave vectors in the photonic band *** measurements were confirmed through a rigorously coupled-wave analysis simulation in conjunction with temporal coupled mode *** mixing between photonic crystal slab modes was observed and described using a plane wave expansion *** ability to probe the field intensity inside the photonic crystal and thereby to directly measure BICs represents a milestone in the development of integrated opto-electronic devices based on BICs.

Discontinuation of therapy in inflammatory bowel disease: Current views

Manipulating the frequency and bandwidth of nonclassical light is essential for implementing frequency-encoded/multiplexed quantum computation,communication,and networking protocols,and for bridging spectral mismatch among various quantum ***,quantum spectral control requires a strong nonlinearity mediated by light,microwave,or acoustics,which is challenging to realize with high efficiency,low noise,and on an integrated ***,we demonstrate both frequency shifting and bandwidth compression of heralded single-photon pulses using an integrated thin-film lithium niobate(TFLN)phase *** achieve record-high electro-optic frequency shearing of telecom single photons over terahertz range(±641 GHz or±5.2 nm),enabling high visibility quantum interference between frequency-nondegenerate photon *** further operate the modulator as a time lens and demonstrate over eighteen-fold(6.55 nm to 0.35 nm)bandwidth compression of single *** results showcase the viability and promise of on-chip quantum spectral control for scalable photonic quantum information processing.

Maize cobs are valuable plant residues that can be used for many different purposes,including as a renewable energy *** their value,maize cobs are still underutilized,mainly because people are not aware of their potential and harvesting techniques for their collection are still being ***,this research focused on finding the most suitable energy-and time-efficient method for mechanical collection of maize *** the combine harvester with an additional hopper proved to be the most promising solution,as it allows harvesting and storage of maize grain and maize cobs in one pass,while the harvesting time remains almost the same and the maize cobs are of good quality,as they do not fall on the field.A prototype with enlarged openings in the straw walkers,an additional grab container for maize cobs,a transport auger,a transport cleaning fan with built-in knives,a transport tube and some other assemblies was fabricated and used in *** first test results are very encouraging(94.4%-96.0%purity of maize cobs)and the system has been patented as a promising solution,especially in times when the environmental sustainability of the planet and energy independence are becoming increasingly important.

BACKGROUND Women with a history of serious psychotic disorders are at increased risk of disease relapse during ***-acting injectable(LAI)antipsychotics have been widely used to improve adherence and prevent relapse in patients with various severe psychotic disorders,but there is a lack of high-quality data from previous research on the safety of LAI antipsychotics during *** To summarize relevant data on maternal,pregnancy,neonatal,and developmental outcomes from published cases of LAI antipsychotic use in *** A literature search was performed through November 11,2023,using three online databases:PubMed/MEDLINE,Scopus,and Web of *** reports or case series that reported information about the outcomes of pregnancy in women who used LAI antipsychotics at any point in pregnancy,with available full texts,were *** statistics,narrative summation,and tabulation of the extracted data were *** A total of 19 publications satisfied the inclusion criteria:3 case series,15 case reports,and 1 conference *** reported the outcomes of LAI antipsychotic use in 74 women and 77 *** use of secondgeneration LAI antipsychotics was reported in the majority(n=47;61.0%)of ***-generation LAI antipsychotics were administered during 30 pregnancies(39.0%).Most of the women(approximately 64%)had either satisfactory control of symptoms or no information about relapse,while approximately 12%of them had developed gestational diabetes mellitus.A minority of cases reported adverse outcomes such as stillbirth,spontaneous abortion,preterm birth,low birth weight,congenital anomalies,and neurological manifestations in ***,there were no reports of negative long-term developmental *** Currently available data seem reassuring,but further well-designed studies are required to properly evaluate the risks and benefits of LAI antipsychotic use during pregnancy.
