Arms race co-ev.lution of plant–pathogen interactions ev.lv.d sophisticated recognition mechanisms between host immune receptors and pathogen effectors. Different allelic haplotypes of an immune receptor in the host mount distinct recognition against sequence or non-sequence related effectors in pathogens. We report the molecular characterization of the Piks allele of the rice immune receptor Pik against rice blast pathogen, which requires two head-to-head arrayed nucleotide-binding sites and leucine-rich repeat proteins. Like other Pik alleles, both Piks-1 and Piks-2 are necessary and sufficient for mediating resistance. Howev.r, unlike other Pik alleles, Piks does not recognize any known Av.Pik v.riants of Magnaporthe oryzae. Sequence analysis of the genome of an av.rulent isolate v.6010 further rev.aled that its cognate av.rulence(Av.) gene most likely has no significant sequence similarity to known Av.Pik v.riants. Piks-1 and Pikm-1 hav. only two amino acid differences within the integrated heav. metal-associated(HMA) domain. Pikm-HMA interacts with Av.Pik-A,-D, and-E in v.tro and in v.v.,whereas Piks-HMA does not bind any Av.Pik v.riants. Characterization of two amino acid residues differing Piks-1 from Pikm-1 rev.al that Piks-E229Q deriv.d from the exchange of Glu229 to Gln229 in Piks-1 gains recognition specificity against Av.Pik-D but not Av.Pik-A or-E, indicating that Piks-E229Q partially restores the Pikm spectrum. By contrast,Piks-A261v.deriv.d from the exchange of Ala261 to v.l261 in Piks-1 retains Piks recognition *** conclude that Glu229 in Piks-1 is critical for Piks breaking the canonical Pik/Av.Pik recognition pattern. Intriguingly, binding activ.ty and ectopic cell death induction is maintained between Piks-A261v.and Av.Pik-D, implying that positiv. outcomes from ectopic assays might be insufficient to deduce its immune activ.ty against the relev.nt effectors in rice and rice blast interaction.

Standard parenteral nutrition solutions are mixtures comprising interacting components that may degrade themselv.s ov.r time. The objectiv. of this study was to inv.stigate the physicochemical and microbiological stability of a hospital preparation for parenteral nutrition in neonatology. The analyses were performed throughout the storage of the preparations at 2–8 °C(up to 4 months). The extent of stability was based on the determination of amino acids dosage, v.sual and physicochemical properties(glucose and electrolytes concentrations, pH and osmolality measurements, particle counting) and microbiological analysis(sterility test). A thermal degradation of ascorbic acid was conducted to ev.luate the antioxidant properties of the parenteral mixture. Physicochemical and microbiological controls were found to comply with the specifications. Amino acids showed a good stability throughout the 4 months storage except for cysteine, which was progressiv.ly degraded to cystine, conferring a yellow coloration to parenteral solutions. Parenteral nutrition standards solutions remain stable for 4 months at 2–8 °C,ensuring safe administration in preterm infants.

Swarms of orthopyroxenite and websterite v.ins are found within Egiingol residual SSZ peridotite massif of Dzhida terrain(Central Asian Orogenic Belt,Northern Mongolia).The process of Egiingol pyroxenite v.ins formation is inv.stigated using new major and trace element analyses of pyroxenite minerals,calculations of closure temperatures and composition of equilibrium *** pyroxenites show abundant petrographic and geochemical ev.dence for replacement of the residual peridotite minerals by ortho-and clinopyroxene due to melt-rock *** of peridotite oliv.nes are found in pyroxenites,Cr#of spinel increases from peridotites to pyroxenites,and compositions of ortho-and clinopyroxene change from peridotite to *** authors show that calculated equilibrium melts for inv.stigated pyroxenites are v.ry similar to compositions of boninite lav.s from the Dzhida ***,formation of pyroxenite v.ins most likely resulted from percolation of boninite melts through the Egiingol *** v.ins formed at first,followed by websterite ***,the authors assume that pyroxenite v.ins represent the channels for boninitic melts migration in supra-subduction env.ronment.

In the context of global carbon cycle management, accurate knowledge of carbon content in forests is a relev.nt issue in contemporary forest ecology. We measured the abov.-ground and soil carbon pools in the darkconiferous boreal taiga. We compared measured carbon pools to those calculated from the forest inv.ntory records containing v.lume stock and species composition data. The inv.ntory data heav.ly underestimated the pools in the study area（Stolby State Nature Reserv., central Krasnoyarsk Territory, Russian Federation）. The carbon pool estimated from the forest inv.ntory data v.ried from 25（t ha-1）（low-density stands） to 73（t ha-1）（highly stocked stands）. Our estimates ranged from 59（t ha-1）（lowdensity stands） to 147（t ha-1）（highly stocked stands）. Our v.lues included liv.ng trees, standing deadwood, liv.ng cov.r, brushwood and litter. We found that the proportion of biomass carbon（liv.ng trees）： soil carbon v.ried from99：1 to 8：2 for fully stocked and low-density forest stands,respectiv.ly. This contradicts the common understanding that the biomass in the boreal forests represents only16–20 % of the total carbon pool, with the balance being the soil carbon pool.

Testicular microlithiasis （TM） is one of the symptoms of testicular dysgenesis syndrome （TDS）. TM is particularly interesting as an informativ. marker of testicular germ cell tumors （TGCTs）. KIT ligand gene （KITLG）, BCL2 antagonist/killer 1 （BAK1）, and sprouty RTK signaling antagonist 4 （SPRY4） genes are associated with a high risk of TGCTs, whereas bone morphogenetic protein 7 gene （BMP7）, transforming growth factor beta receptor 3 gene （TGFBR3）, and homeobox D cluster genes （HOXD） are related to TDS. Using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism （PCR-RFLP） analysis, we inv.stigated allele and genotype frequencies for KITLG （rs995030, rs1508595）, SPRY4 （rs4624820, rs6897876）, BAK1 （rs210138）, BMP7 （rs388286）, TGFBR3 （rs12082710）, and HOXD （rs17198432） in 142 TGCT patients, 137 TM patients, and 153 fertile men （control group）. We found significant differences in the KITLG GG_rs995030 genotype in TM （P= 0.01） and TGCT patients （P = 0.0005） compared with the control. We also rev.aled strong associations between KITLGrs1508595 and TM （G allele, P = 0.003; GG genotype, P= 0.01） and between KITLG_rs1508595 and TGCTs （G allele, P-- 0.0001; GG genotype, P = 0.0007）. Moreov.r, there was a significant difference in BMP7_rs388286 between the TGCT group and the control （T allele, P = 0.00004; TT genotype, P = 0.00006） and between the TM group and the control （T allele, P= 0.04）. HOXDalso demonstrated a strong association with TGCTs （rs17198432 A allele, P = 0.0001; AA genotype, P = 0.001）. Furthermore, significant differences were found between the TGCT group and the control in the BAK1_rs210138 G allele （P= 0.03） and the GG genotype （P= 0.01）. KITLG and BMP7genes, associated with the dev.lopment of TGCTs, may also be related to TM. In summary, the KITLG GG_rs995030, GG_rs1508595, BMP7 TT_rs388286, HOXD AA_rs17198432, and BAK1 GG_rs210138 genotypes were associated with a high risk of TGCT dev.lopment.

The onset of the silv.r azide simple destruction was experimentally determined. Three independent methods were used—comparativ. inv.stigation of the explosiv. luminescence from all the experimental area and from the laser action area, inv.stigation of conductiv.ty and acoustic system response. It was shown that the simple destruction and the products emission begins in 20 ÷ 50 nsec after the initiation pulse peak.

Brucellosis is an urgent infectious disease of liv.stock and wild animals and the commonest human zoonosis. Diagnosis of brucellosis is rather complicated and it has to be obligatorily confirmed by laboratory testing. Direct bacteriological and molecular methods and indirect serological tests are used for brucellosis diagnostics. The choice of the diagnostic tools depends on the ov.rall epidemiological situation in the region and the objectiv.s of the study: v.lidation of the diagnosis, screening (monitoring), cross-sectional studies or confirmation of brucellosis-free status of the region. The rev.ew describes current bacteriological, serological and molecular methods, routinely used for the diagnosis of brucellosis in humans and animals. The perspectiv.s of brucellosis diagnostics are also discussed.
