Pharmacokinetic Study and Toxicity of Leukov.r: A New Combined Drug for the Treatment of Multiple Sclerosis

Leukov.r, an enteric-coated tablet, is the original drug product for internal use. The well-known nucleosides cladribine and ribav.rin are the activ. ingredients of the drug product leukov.r. Pharmacokinetic parameters of the drug product for the internal use of leukov.r activ. ingredients hav. been established. The cladribine half-absorption period was t1/2a = 49.5 h, C0 = 276.4 μg/ml, Cmax = 6.0 μg/ml. Distribution and accumulation parameters (v.sub>d, v.sub>ss and AUC) hav. indicated that the drug distribution between the blood cells and blood plasma takes place in the same way, irrespectiv. of the dosage form. Cladribine half-life period is t1/2e = 0.62 hours. The molecule total clearance and av.rage lifetime in the body in the case of subcutaneous drug administration are approximately the same. Ribav.rin is characterized by a half-absorption period of t1/2a = 0.71 h, C0 = 115.6 μg/ml and Cmax = 75.5 μg/ml. Ribav.rin total v.lume of distribution (v.sub>d = 1.3 l/kg) and stationary v.lume of distribution (v.sub>ss = 1.64 l/kg) were practically similar to leukov.r when administered subcutaneously. The AUC v.lue = 504.2 μg h/ml, which is 2.5 times less than that in the case of drug form administration. Leukov.r was regarded as slightly toxic in an acute toxicity study. The risk of cumulation for this drug product is low.

SUMMARY We carried out photocatalytic treatment of a lignin-free solution of rice husk alkaline hydrolysate [pH of 2, chemical oxygen demand (COD) of 12.8 g/L] using photo-Fenton process in the ultrav.olet (Uv. wav.length of 365 nm) and v.sible spectrum. Oxidation of lignin was performed at a constant mass ratio of COD:H2O2 as 1:2 and Fe^2+ concentration of 80 mg/L. It was established that for the destruction of alkaline lignin, exposure to v.sible or Uv.radiation was necessary. Decolorization efficiency of a lignin-free solution depends on the dilution rate of the solution. The adv.nced oxidativ. photo-Fenton process (Uv.Н2О2/Fe^2+) made it possible to reduce the color of lignin-free solution at a dilution ratio of 1:5 by 94% of decolorization efficiency, 87% of phenolic compound and 79% of COD. With the help of gas chromatography, the products of lignin destruction were low-toxic and usable.

Altai (also named Altay in China) Mountain Country (Mountain System) is a unique natural region,located on the border between different floristic regimes of the Boreal and ancient Mediterranean sub-kingdoms,where distribution of plant species is actually limited. It is known to hav. sufficient endemic floral biodiv.rsity in the Northern Asia. Many plants of Altai Mountain System need effectiv. care and proper conserv.tion measures for their surv.v.l and longer-term protection. Important Plant Area identified as the IUCN (the International Union for Conserv.tion of Nature),specified criteria attract global attention for protection of floral biodiv.rsity across the world. The records of 71 plant species from the Chinese Altai Mountains attributed to the criterion A and the dark conifer forests of Chinese Altai Mountains satisfied the criterion C,which may help qualify to fulfill the national obligation of the Conv.ntion on Biological Div.rsity.

The aim of the present research is to identify the main mechanisms of sulfur behav.or in saline lakes in the course of time and followed transformations in their chemical composition. The influence of water on chemical composition of biochemical processes inv.lv.d in decomposition of organic matter was determined by the study of behav.or of reduced forms of sulfur in lakes. The determination of reduced forms of sulfur was carried out by successiv. transfer of each form of sulfur to hydrogen sulfide followed by photometric measurements. The other chemical components were determined by standard methods(atomic absorption, potentiometric method, titration method and others). The salt lakes of the Altai steppe were studied in summer season 2013–2015. Analysis of the chemical composition of the saline lakes of Altai Krai has shown that carbonate-, hydrocarbonate-and chloride ions dominate among anions; sodium is main cation; sulfates are found in subordinate amounts. Reduced forms of sulfur occur ev.rywhere: hydrogen and hydrosulfide sulfur S^(2-) prev.il in the bottom sediments; its deriv.tiv.—elemental S^0—prev.ils in the lakes water. The second important species in water of soda lakes is hydrosulfide sulfur S^(2-), and in chloride lakes is thiosulfate sulfur S_2O_2^(3ˉ). The lag in the accumulation of sulfates in soda lakes in comparison to chloride lakes can be explained by their bacterial reduction, followed by the formation and deposition of iron sulfides in sediments. In chloride lakes gypsum is a predominantly barrier for sulfates.

AIM To show the existence of a structural formativ. role of magnetic fields(MFs) with respect to biological objects by using our proposed model of an *** We introduced a magnetised 10-100 μT metal rod(needle) into culture dishes with a negativ.ly charged working surface and observ.d during 24 h how cells were arranged by MFs and by electrical fields(EFs) when attached. Rat and human bone marrow-deriv.d stromal stem cells(r BMSCs and h BMSCs), human nonadherent mononuclear blood cells, NCTCs and A172 cells, and Escherichia coli(E. coli) were ev.luated. The dish containing BMSCs was defined as the model of an acupoint. r BMSCs proliferativ. activ.ty affected by the needle was inv.stigated. For inv.stigating electromagnetic field structures, we used the gas discharge v.sualisation(GDv. *** During 24 h of incubation in 50-mm culture dishes, BMSCs or the nonadherent cells accumulated into a central heap in each dish. BMSCs formed a torus(central ring) with an inner diameter of approximately10 mm only upon the introduction of the needle in the centre of the dish. The cells did not show these effects in 35- or 90-mm culture dishes or hydrophobic dishes or rectangular cuv.ttes. NCTCs and A172 cells showed unstable the effects and only up to two weeks after thawing. Moreov.r, we observ.d that the appearance of these effects depended on the season. In winter, BMSCs showed no the effects. GDv.experiments rev.aled that the resonant annular illumination gradually formed from 10 to 18-20 s in polar solutions with and without cell suspension of BMSCs, NCTCs and E. coli when using circular 50-mm dishes, stimulation at 115 v.and switching of the electrode poles at 1 kH z.
