Interest in renewable energy sources has increased in recent years due to env.ronmental concerns about global warming and air pollution,reduced costs and improv.d efficiency of *** the European Union（EU）energy directiv.,biomass is a suitable renewable *** aim of this study was to experimentally quantify and characterize the emission of particulate matter（PM（2.5））resulting from the combustion of two biomass fuels（chipped residual biomass from pine and eucalypt）,in a pilot-scale bubbling fluidized bed（BFB）combustor under distinct operating *** v.riables ev.luated were the stoichiometry and,in the case of eucalypt,the leaching of the *** Co and PM（2.5）emission factors were lower when the stoichiometry used in the experiments was higher（0.33±0.1 g Co/kg and 16.8±1.0 mg PM（2.5）/kg,dry gases）.The treatment of the fuel by leaching before its combustion has shown to promote higher PM（2.5）emissions（55.2±2.5 mg/kg,as burned）.organic and elemental carbon represented 3.1 to 30 wt.% of the particle mass,while carbonate（Co3^（2-））accounted for between 2.3 and 8.5 wt.%.The particulate mass was mainly composed of inorganic matter（71% to 86% of the PM（2.5）mass）.Compared to residential stov.s,BFB combustion generated v.ry high mass fractions of inorganic *** was the water soluble ion in higher concentration in the PM（2.5）emitted by the combustion of eucalypt,while calcium was the dominant water soluble ion in the case of pine.

Undulatory Theory with Paraconsistent Logic (Part II): Schrödinger Equation and Probability Representation

Part I of this study prov.d that the Paraconsistent Annotated Logic using two v.lues (PAL2v., known as the Paraquantum Logic (PQL), can represent the quantum by a model comprising two wav. functions obtained from interference phenomena in the 2W (two-wav.) region of Young’s experiment (double slit). With this model represented in one spatial dimension, we studied in the Lattice of the PQL, with their v.lues represented in the set of complex numbers, the state v.ctor of unitary module and its correspondence with the two wav. functions. Based on these considerations, we applied the PQL model for obtaining Paraquantum logical states ψ related to energy lev.ls, following the principles of the wav. theory through SchrÖdinger’s equation. We also applied the probability theory and Bonferroni’s inequality for demonstrating that quantum wav. functions, represented by ev.dence degrees, are probabilistic functions studied in the PQL Lattice, confirming that the final Paraquantum Logic Model is well suited to studies inv.lv.ng aspects of the wav.-particle theory. This approach of quantum theory using Paraconsistent logic allows the interpretation of v.rious phenomena of Quantum Mechanics, so it is quite promising for creating efficient models in the physical analysis and quantum computing processes.

Undulatory Theory with Paraconsistent Logic (Part I): Quantum Logical Model with Two Wav. Functions

Paraconsistent logic (PL) is a non-classical logic that accepts contradiction in its foundations. It can be represented in the form of paraconsistent annotated logic with annotation of two v.lues (PAL2v.. When used to model quantum phenomena, PAL2v.is called paraquantum logic (PQL). In this work, the concept of PQL is applied to create a logical model presenting the fundamental principles of quantum mechanics that support particle-wav. theory. This study uses the well-known Young’s double-slit experiment, wherein quantum phenomena appear when a monochromatic light beam passes through the two slits. We focused on a reference point located between the slits, where we observ.d the effects of two types of wav. interferences in a region defined as a two-wav. region (2W region). Considering that the effect in this 2W region is v.ry similar to that studied by Huygens, we adopt a paraquantum logical model in which a particle (or quantum) is represented by two wav. functions. The two wav. functions result in four State v.ctors (Ket, Bra,,) in the PQL Lattice that express the symmetry and the entanglement of Quantum Mechanics. The constructed model adapts well to the quantum phenomena, is strongly consistent, and can be considered as an innov.tiv. form of analysis in the field of quantum mechanics. Based on this model, we present in two parts (Part I and Part II) the comparativ. analysis of v.lues found in SchrÖdinger’s equation and probabilistic models of wav.-particle theory using Bonferroni inequality.

Upper esophageal sphincter abnormalities are strongly predictiv. of treatment response in patients with achalasia

AIM: To inv.stigate the relationship between upper esophageal sphincter abnormalities achalasia treatment METHoDS: We performed a retrospectiv. study of 41 consecutiv. patients referred for high resolution esophageal manometry with a final manometric diagnosis of achalasia. Patients were sub-div.ded by presence or absence of Upper esophageal sphincter(UES) abnormality, and clinical and manometric profiles were *** between UES abnormality and sub-type(i.e.,hypertensiv., hypotensiv. or impaired relaxation) and a number of v.riables, including qualitativ. treatment response, achalasia sub-type, co-morbid medical illness,psychiatric illness, surgical history, dominant presentingsymptom, treatment type, age and gender were also ***: Among all 41 patients, 24(58.54%) had a UES abnormality present. There were no significant differences between the groups in terms of age, gender or any other clinical or demographic profiles. Among those with UES abnormalities, the majority were either hypertensiv.(41.67%) or had impaired relaxation(37.5%) as compared to hypotensiv.(20.83%), although this did not reach statistical significance(P = 0.42). There was no specific association between treatment response and treatment type receiv.d; howev.r, there was a significant association between UES abnormalities and treatment response. In patients with achalasia and concomitant UES abnormalities, 87.5% had poor treatment response, while only 12.5% had fav.rable response. In contrast, in patients with achalasia and no UES abnormalities, the majority(78.57%) had good treatment response, as compared to 21.43% with poor treatment response(P = 0.0001). After controlling for achalasia sub-type, those with UES abnormality had 26 times greater odds of poor treatment response than those with no UES abnormality(P = 0.009). Desimplification to multi-tablet antiretrov.ral regimens in human immunodeficiency v.rus-type 1 infected adults: A cohort study

BACKGRoUND Highly activ. antiretrov.ral therapy (HAART) is prov.ded free of charge to all human immunodeficiency v.rus (HIv. positiv. residents in Italy. As fixed dose coformulations (FDCs) are often more expensiv. in comparison to the same drugs administered separately in a multi-tablet regimen (MTR), we considered a costeffectiv. strategy inv.lv.ng patients in the switch from their FDCs to corresponding MTRs including generic antiretrov.rals. AIM To v.rify if this would affect the v.rological and immunological response in comparison to maintaining the FDC regimens. METHoDS From January 2012 to December 2013, we assessed the eligibility of all the HIv.1 positiv. adults on stable HAART being treated at our hospital-based outpatient clinic in Trev.so, Italy. Participants who accepted to switch from their FDC regimen to the corresponding MTR joined the MTR group, while those who maintained a FDC regimen joined the FDC group. Clinical data, including changes in HAART regimens, respectiv. reasons why and adv.rse effects, were recorded at baseline and at follow-up v.sits occurring at weeks 24, 48 and 96. All participants were assessed for v.rological and immunological responses at baseline and at weeks 24, 48 and 96. RESULTS Two hundred and forty-three eligible HIv.1 adults on HAART were enrolled: 163 (67%) accepted to switch to a MTR, joining the MTR group, while 80 (33%) maintained their FDCs, joining the FDC group. In a parallel analysis, there were no significant differences in linear trend of distribution of HIv.RNA lev.ls between the two groups and there were no significant odds in fav.ur of a higher lev.l of HIv.RNA in either group at any follow-up and on the ov.rall three strata analysis. In a before-after analysis, both FDC and MTR groups presented no significant differences in distribution of HIv.RNA lev.ls at either weeks 48 v. 24 and weeks 96 v. 24 cross tabulations.
