The purpose of this paper is to broaden the knowledge of mean difference and, in particular, of an important distribution model known as Tukey lambda, which is generally used to choose a model to fit data. We have obtained compact formulas, which are not yet reported in literature, of mean deviation and mean difference related to the said distribution model. These results made it possible to analyze the relationships among variability indexes, namely standard deviation, mean deviation and mean difference, regarding Tukey lambda model.

Objective:Zinc deficiency is the most common micronutrient abnormality seen in human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)*** of CD4 cells is a hallmark of HIV *** study aims to determine the association between whole blood zinc levels and CD4 cell count and stage of HIV infection among patients in a tertiary hospital in the ***:Sixty-five newly diagnosed HIV-positive patients of the institution were *** profile,whole blood zinc levels,CD4 cell count level,HIV disease stage,and presence of any dermatologic manifestations were *** of zinc deficiency and correlation between whole blood zinc levels and CD4 cell count were *** data were analyzed by chi-square and pearson correlation ***:Among the 65 patients,overall zinc deficiency was noted at 33.8%.Low CD4 count and HIV disease stage IV participants had the highest percentage of zinc deficiency at 54.6%and 50%,respectively.A correlation coefficient atr=0.3364 was noted between whole blood zinc levels and CD4 cell count(P=0.006).Twenty-nine patients presented with dermatologic manifestations,with 10 patients being zinc ***:A weak positive correlation was seen between zinc levels and CD4 *** is an increasing frequency of zinc level deficiency with a higher HIV disease *** manifestations of HIV may be present in both patients with normal and deficient zinc levels.

The relationship between diabetes mellitus and Parkinson's disease has been described in several epidemiological studies over the 1960 s to *** studies have shown the possible functional link between insulin and dopamine,as there is strong evidence demonstrating the action of dopamine in pancreatic islets,as well as the insulin effects on feeding and cognition through central nervous system mechanism,largely independent of glucose *** used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus appear to be promising candidates for symptomatic and/or disease-modifying action in neurodegenerative diseases including Parkinson's disease,while an old dopamine agonist,bromocriptine,has been repositioned for the type 2 diabetes mellitus *** review will aim at reappraising the different studies that have highlighted the dangerous liaisons between diabetes mellitus and Parkinson's disease.

We tested the association between endogenous testosterone density(ETD;the ratio between endogenous testosterone[ET]and prostate volume)and prostate cancer(PCa)aggressiveness in very favorable low-and intermediate-risk PCa patients who underwent radical prostatectomy(RP).Only patients with prostate-specific antigen(PSA)within 10 ng ml^(-1),clinical stage T1c,and International Society of Urological Pathology(IsUP)grade group 1 or 2 were *** ET levels up to 350 ng dl^(-1)were classified as *** quantitation density factors were evaluated as the ratio between percentage of biopsy-positive cores and prostate volume(biopsy-positive cores density,BPCD)and the ratio between percentage of cancer invasion at final pathology and prostate weight(tumor load density,TLD).Disease upgrading was coded as ISUP grade group>2,and progression as recurrence(biochemical and/or local and/or distant).Risk associations were evaluated by multivariable Cox and logistic regression *** 320 patients,151(47.2%)had intermediate-risk ***(median:402.3 ng dl^(-1))resulted abnormal in 111(34.7%)cases(median ETD:9.8 ng dl^(-1)ml^(-1)).Upgrading and progression occurred in 109(34.1%)and 32(10.6%)cases,*** was predicted by ISUP grade group 2(hazard ratio[HR]:2.290;P=0.029)and upgrading(HR:3.098;P=0.003),which was associated with ISUP grade group 2(odds ratio[OR]:1.785;P=0.017)and TLD above the median(OR:2.261;P=0.001).After adjustment for PSAdensity and bodymass index(BMI),ETDabovethemedianwas positivelyassociatedwithBPCD(OR:3.404;P<0.001)and TLD(OR:5.238;P<0.001).Notably,subjects with abnormal ET were more likely to have higher BPCD(OR:5.566;P=0.002),as well as TLD(OR:14.998;P=0.016).Independently by routinely evaluated factors,as ETD increased,BPCD and TLD increased,but increments were higher for abnormal ET *** very favorable cohorts,ETD may further stratify the risk of aggressive PCa.

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is the most frequent liver neoplasm,and its incidence rates are constantly *** the availability of potentially curative treatments(liver transplantation,surgical resection,thermal ablation),long-term outcomes are affected by a high recurrence rate(up to 70%of cases 5 years after treatment).HCC recurrence within 2 years of treatment is defined as“early”and is generally caused by the occult intrahepatic spread of the primary neoplasm and related to the tumor burden.A recurrence that occurs after 2 years of treatment is defined as“late”and is related to de novo HCC,independent of the primary *** HCC recurrence has a significantly poorer prognosis and outcome than late *** pathogenesis corresponds to different predictors of the risk of early or late *** adequate knowledge of predictive factors and recurrence risk stratification guides the therapeutic strategy and post-treatment *** at high risk of HCC recurrence should be referred to treatments with the lowest recurrence rate and when standardized to combined or adjuvant therapy *** review aimed to expose the recurrence predictors and examine the differences between predictors of early and late recurrence.

It is shown to be a relevant study involving terrestrial methods of measurement, such as： forward and backward intersections, geometric leveling, trigonometric leveling with short distance targeted and spatial positioning GNSS methods, for the definition of field reference points and field-object points located in rough terrain. The geodesic structures were implemented in the Historic Site of Olinda employing GNSS （global navigation satellite system） receivers, total stations and digital level. The historical site of Olinda was recorded by UNESCO as Historical and Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The study area is located in the center of the busiest site with a quite roughly relief. This area has been studied since 2007 involving Research of Scientific Initiation and Pos-Graduation Course. This paper aims to present the realized experiments for the implementation and definition of geodesic structures in environments with very rough relief, including large old houses and historic monuments.

Drought stress is major abiotic stress that affects soybean ***,it is widely desirable that soybean becomes more tolerant to *** provide insights into regulatory mechanisms of the stress response,we compared the global gene expression profiles from leaves of two soybean genotypes that display different responses to water-deficit(BR 16 and Embrapa 48,drought-sensitive and droughttolerant,respectively).After the RNA-seq analysis,a total of 5335 down-regulated and 3170 up-regulated genes were identified in the *** the other hand,the number of genes differentially expressed was markedly lower in the Embrapa 48,355 up-regulated and 471 down-regulated ***,induction and expression of protein kinases and transcription factors indicated signaling cascades involved in the drought ***,the results suggest that the metabolism of pectin is differently modulated in response to drought stress and may play a role in the soybean defense mechanism against *** occurs via an increase of the cell wall plasticity and crosslink,which contributed to a higher hydraulic conductance(Kf)and relative water content(RWC%).The drought-tolerance mechanism of the Embrapa 48 genotype involves remodeling of the cell wall and increase of the hydraulic conductance to the maintenance of cell turgor and metabolic processes,resulting in the highest leaf RWC,photosynthetic rate(A),transpiration(E)and carboxylation(A/Ci).Thus,we concluded that the cell wall adjustment under drought is important for a more efficient water use which promoted a more active photosynthetic metabolism,maintaining higher plant growth under drought stress.

Endometrial cancer （EC） is the most common and lethal gynaecological cancer type in Europe and in North America. Frequently EC arises more in the corpus proper and manifests as round, polypoid expansile masses, but it may also originate in the lower uterine segment or spread in endometrium with necrosis and hemorrhage. The analysis was performed using a custom panel containing all DNA sequences loci coding pre-miRNAs and genes related to biogenesis and regulation of sncRNAs in normal and tumor tissues extracted from 6 unrelated patients with endometrial carcinoma. The identified variations were correlated with mature miRNAs differentially expressed in the same normal and tumor endometrial tissues. The comparison analysis confirmed the high degree of cellular and genetic intratumoral heterogeneity with a temporal and spatial miRNA expression distribution in association with genomic variants identified. The classification of specific DNA mutations, onto the loci identified, should be suitable to characterize possible instability genome regions and help classification of tumors to ameliorate the clinical management of patients affected by endometrial carcinoma.
