strawberry(Fragaria×ananassa)fruits are an excellent source of L-ascorbic acid(AsA),a powerful antioxidant for plants and *** the genetic components underlying AsA accumulation is crucial for enhancing strawberry nutritional ***,we unravel the genetic architecture of AsA accumulation using an F1 population derived from parental lines‘Candonga’and‘senga sengana’,adapted to distinct southern and Northern European *** account for environmental effects,the F1 and parental lines were grown and phenotyped in five locations across Europe(France,Germany,Italy,Poland and spain).Fruit AsA content displayed normal distribution typical of quantitative traits and ranged five-fold,with significant differences among genotypes and *** content in each country and the average in all of them was used in combination with 6,974 markers for quantitative trait locus(QTL)*** stable QTLs for AsA content were detected in linkage group(LG)3A,LG 5A,LG 5B,LG 6B and LG *** genes were identified within stable QTL intervals and expression analysis in lines with contrasting AsA content suggested that GDP-L-Galactose Phosphorylase FaGGP(3A),and the chloroplast-located AsA transporter gene FaPHT4;4(7C)might be the underlying genetic factors for QTLs on LG 3A and 7C,*** show that recessive alleles of FaGGP(3A)inherited from both parental lines increase fruit AsA ***,expression of FaGGP(3A)was two-fold higher in lines with high *** here identified represent a useful resource for efficient selection of new strawberry cultivars with increased AsA content.

A model intercomparison in terms of surface air temperature annual cycle amplitude-phase characteristics (sAT AC APC) is performed. The models included in the intercomparison belong to two groups: five atmospheric models with prescribed sea surface temperature and sea ice cover and four coupled models forced by the atmospheric abundances of anthropogenic constituents (in total six coupled model simulations). Over land, the models, simulating higher than observed time averaged sAT, also tend to simulate smaller than observed amplitude of its annual and semiannual harmonics and (outside the Tropics) later-than-observed spring and autumn moments. The models with larger (smaller) time averaged amplitudes of annual and semiannual harmonics also tend to simulate larger (smaller) interannual standard deviations. Over the oceans, the coupled models with larger interannual standard deviations of annual mean sAT tend to simulate larger interannual standard deviations of both annual and semiannual sAT harmonics amplitudes. Most model errors are located in the belts 60°–70°N and 60°–70°s and over Antarctica. These errors are larger for those coupled models which do not employ dynamical modules for sea ice. No systematic differences are found in the simulated time averaged fields of the surface air temperature annual cycle characteristics for atmospheric models on one hand and for the coupled models on the other. But the coupled models generally simulate interannual variability of sAT AC APC better than the atmospheric models (which tend to underestimate it). For the coupled models, the results are not very sensitive to the choice of the particular scenario of anthropogenic forcing. There is a strong linear positive relationship between the model simulated time averaged semiannual sAT harmonics amplitude and interannual standard deviation of annual mean sAT. Huntington’s disease is a genetic disease caused by expanded CAG repeats on exon 1 of the huntingtin gene located on chromosome *** evidence implicates impaired mitochondrial energetics,altered mitochondrial biogenesis and quality control,disturbed mitochondrial trafficking,oxidative stress and mitochondrial calcium dyshomeostasis in the pathogenesis of the ***,conventional mitochondrial-targeted molecules,such as cysteamine,creatine,coenzyme Q10,or triheptanoin,yielded negative or inconclusive ***,future therapeutic strategies,aiming to restore mitochondrial biogenesis,improving the fission/fusion balance,and improving mitochondrial trafficking,could prove useful tools in improving the phenotype of Huntington’s disease and,used in combination with genome-editing methods,could lead to a cure for the disease.

This work continued our general research program on obtaining metallic cerium by electrodeposition from NaCeF4 dis-solved in different molten fluorides. The structure of NaCeF4 （cubic or hexagonal depending on the way of preparation） was estab-lished by DTA analysis, IR spectra and X-ray diffraction. The heat capacity （Cp） of NaCeF4 was measured by differential scanning calorimetry in the temperature range of 300-1093 K using the“step-method”. The Cp was fitted by an equation with a satisfactory re-sult. Heat capacity was compared with that calculated from the Neumann-Kopp rule （NKR） and the deviations observed were consis-tent with the stability of the NaCeF4 compound.

A growing number of natural hazard-triggered technological accidents(Natech)has been reported by several researchers,and this trend is expected to continue due to climate *** a result,some governments have initiated direct efforts to manage Natech risks,particularly in the United states and ***,two surveys conducted by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development(OECD)in 2009 and 2017 found that there was a lack of proper risk management and risk governance for Natech among OECD member states,including Japan and south *** study aimed to identify relevant regulations and practical considerations for chemical and Natech risk management from government perspectives in Japan and south *** article provides a review of the current state of risk management,emergency response,and risk communication on chemical and Natech risk management in the two countries,and concludes with a discussion of some of the issues that require improvement of the current chemical risk *** practices for chemical risk management in Japan and south Korea point to the possibility of improvements in dealing with the Natech *** practical lessons will be valuable for improving the capacity for dealing with challenges in chemical and Natech risk management.

During the clinical course of dementia,beside cognitive impairment and memory loss,a very complex challenge is posed by the neuropsychiatric symptoms（NPss）.Accurate evaluation and treatment of pain impacts positively the agitation of demented patients aged ≥ 65 *** gather information on the utilization of pain killers in demented patients a preliminary survey has been conducted in collaboration with the Calabrian Pharmacovigilance Territorial service of the health district of Catanzaro（Italy）.The study has taken into consideration the prescriptions of acetylcholinesterase inhibitors and memantine during the period ranging from July 2015 to June 2016 and the percentage of patients treated against pain with non steroidal antinflammatory drugs,opioids,and anticonvulsants have been *** latter have been evaluated statistically for difference between the treatment before（pre） and after（post） the settlement of acetylcholinesterase inhibitors（ACh EI） or memantine *** results do support accuracy in painkillers utilization in the course of dementia in the regional population of Calabria（Italy）.

Comparison of PM_(10) concentrations and metal content in three different sites of the Venice Lagoon: An analysis of possible aerosol sources

The Venice Lagoon is exposed to atmospheric pollutants from industrial activities, thermoelectric power plants, petrochemical plants, incinerator, domestic heating, ship traffic, glass factories and vehicular emissions on the mainland. In 2005, construction began on the mobile dams （MOsE）, one dam for each channel connecting the lagoon to the Adriatic sea as a barrier against high tide. These construction works could represent an additional source of pollutants. PM10 samples were taken on random days between 2007 and 2010 at three different sites： Punta sabbioni, Chioggia and Malamocco, located near the respective dam construction worksites. Chemical analyses of V, Cr, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Mo, Cd, sb, T1 and Pb in PM10 samples were performed by Inductively coupled plasma- quadrupole mass spectrometry （ICP-QMs） and results were used to identify the main aerosol sources. The correlation of measured data with meteorology, and source apportionment, failed to highlight a contribution specifically associated to the emissions of the MOsE construction works. The comparison of the measurements at the three sites showed a substantial homogeneity of metal concentrations in the area. source apportionment with principal component analysis （PCA） and positive matrix factorization （PMF） showed that a four principal factors model could describe the sources of metals in PM10. Three of them were assigned to specific sources in the area and one was characterised as a source of mixed origin （anthropogenic and crustal）. A specific anthropogenic source of PM10 rich in Ni and Cr, active at the Chioggia site, was also identified.
