Stereotactic ablative body radiotherapy(SABR)is an effective technique comparable to surgery in terms of local control and efficacy in early stages of non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)and pulmonary *** fractionation schemes have proven to be safe and effective,including the single fraction(SF)*** is an option costeffectiveness,more convenience and comfortable for the patient and flexible in terms of its management combined with systemic *** outbreak of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 pandemic has driven this not new but underutilized paradigm,recommending this option to minimize patients’visits to *** SABR already has a long experience,strong evidence and sufficient maturity to reliably evaluate outcomes in peripheral primary NSCLC and there are promising outcomes in pulmonary metastases,making it a valid treatment option;although its use in central locations,synchronous and recurrencies tumors requires more prospective safety and efficacy *** SABR radiobiology study,together with the combination with systemic therapies,(targeted therapies and immunotherapy)is a direction of research in both advanced disease and early stages whose future includes SF.

Effect of Thermoplastic Incorporation on the Performance of Thermosetting Matrix

In this work, the morphology, thermal and viscoelastic properties, deformation and fracture behaviour of a commercial vinylester resin modified with a biodegradable polymer was investigated. Flexural, impact and fracture tests were per-formed on the blends with different polycaprolactone (PCL) contents. They exhibited improved stiffness and fracture properties in comparison to the neat resin. From SEM analysis of fracture surfaces, stress whitening and branced frac-ture paths toughening mechanisms were identified. The dependence of the glass transition temperature with PCL con-tent was adequately fitted by simple models available in the literature. From the results of these models along with the results of calorimetric studies and SEM analysis, it can be concluded that the interaction between vinylester and PCL is strong enough to avoid phase separation.

Risk Perceptions and Willingness to Pay for Organic Fresh Chicken in Argentina

This paper aims to calculate Argentinean consumers＇ willingness to pay （WTP） for organic fresh chicken in the domestic market, by applying the Contingent Valuation approach and with a view to providing some useful insights for promoting organic chicken production and consumption in Argentina. A binomial logit model was estimated using data from a consumer survey conducted in Buenos Aires City, Argentina. Willingness to pay is explained by the consumption of organic products, health risk perceptions, concerns about production processes and also regulation issues, and label reading. The WTP calculation reveals a mean value of 21.4%/kg and a median value of 19%/kg. These results indicate that organic chicken is positively valued by consumers. In fact, it provides the nutritional and product origin information that buyers require and they consider it a safer option than conventional chicken.

Consumers＇ Perceptions about Food Quality Attributes and Their Incidence in Argentinean Organic Choices

The objective of this paper is to analyze consumers＇ perceptions about risk and quality attributes of food consumption; and to evaluate the incidence of these factors when buying organic products in the Argentinean domestic market. Data derives from a food consumption survey on organic and non-organic consumers conducted in Buenos Aires City, Argentina, in April *** Lancaster model （1966） provided the theoretical basis. The results yielded by the estimated logistic model suggest that consumers with higher educational level, who eat healthy food, and consider food control organisms as ＂inefficient＂ are more likely to buy organic products. A high percentage of consumers read and trust label information in Argentina. This has interesting policy implications to promote differentiated and high value products, and to reduce information asymmetries.

Introduction: Degeneration of the cervical spine (CDSD) prevalence is nearly 90% by the 7th decade. This is the first research that compares the outcomes between the Anterior Approach (AA) and Posterior Approach (PA) to cervical myelopathy (CM) in the elderly. Materials and Methods: A retrospective observational study of electronic health records at the Hospital Central Sur de Alta Especialidad (HCSAE), PEMEX from January 2010 to May 2020 with patients older than 60 years submitted to cervical surgery. For the analysis we elaborated two groups according to the surgical approach: AA vs PA;we analyzed the trans-operative behavior, the immediate outcome, and after 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year. Results: As a total of 145 patients, the prevalence of CM in elderly was the 63.8% with a median age of 69 (64 - 75) years. We found statistical differences in strength outcome only in the P3m (p = 0.011), for sensitivity we found major prevalence of affection in the PA group. Alterations in epigenetic control of gene expression play an important role in many diseases, including gastric cancer. Many studies have identified a large number of upregulated oncogenic mi RNAs and downregulated tumour-suppressor mi RNAs in this type of cancer. In this review, we provide an overview of the role of mi RNAs, pointing to their potential to be useful as diagnostic and/or prognostic biomarkers in gastric cancer. Moreover, we discuss the influence of polymorphisms and epigenetic modifications on mi RNA activity.

Loss of follow-up or reinfections hinder the expectations of hepatitis C eradicationdespite the existence of highly effective treatments. Moreover, the elimination ofthe infection does not imply the reversion of those chronic alterations derivedfrom the previous infection by hepatitis C virus (HCV). This review analyzes therisk factors associated with loss to follow-up in diagnosis or treatment, and thepossibility of reinfection. Likewise, it assesses the residual alterations induced bychronic HCV infection considering the liver alterations (inflammation, fibrosis,risk of decompensation, hepatocellular carcinoma, liver transplantation) and, onthe other hand, the comorbidities and extrahepatic manifestations (cryoglobulinemia,non-Hodgkin lymphoma, peripheral insulin resistance, and lipid, boneand cognitive alterations). Peculiarities present in subjects coinfected with humanimmunodeficiency virus are analyzed in each section.

Increased Levels of Hyaluronic Acid in Bronchoalveolar Lavage from Patients with Interstitial Lung Diseases, Relationship with Lung Function and Inflammatory Cells Recruitment

Purpose: Interstitial Lung Diseases (ILD) are characterized by inflammation and fibrosis. It described the role of hyaluronic acid (HA) as an immune-regulator. It is not known if HA contributes to the recruitment of inflammatory cells associated with ILD. If this hypothesis was correct, then concentrations of HA in bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) should correlate with the severity of ILD. Methods: We collected BAL from 22 ILD patients and 15 control subjects. We determined HA and cytokine levels by ELISA. In vitro chemotaxis assays were performed by using a transwell system. Results: We found that ILD patients showed a significant increase in HA, IL-6 levels and the amount of cells in BAL compared to control subjects. We detected a significant positive correlation between HA and IL-6 levels (r = 0.53 and p In vitro, HA induced migration of macrophages and monocytes through a CD44-dependent process. BAL from patients with ILD stimulated macro-phage migration and this was abrogated by hyaluronidase. Conclusions: Our results support the hypothesis that HA contributes to the recruitment of monocytes towards the alveolar space, leading to exacerbation of lung inflammation in ILD patients.
