Impairment of fish growth and immune system due to stress and disease are major constraints in aquaculture ***,antibiotic was used as prophylactic agent in the health management of aquaculture ***,antibiotic only provide a temporary solution to the problem of disease ***-reliance on antibiotic also has led to the increasing cases of antibiotic resistance among pathogenic bacteria from aquaculture sites and contamination of antibiotic residues into human food ***,prebiotic and symbiotic are therefore suggested as alternatives to prophylactic antibiotic to be used in the aquaculture industry.A potential prophylactic agent is polysaccharide that could be developed into an alternative antibiotic for aquatic *** this review paper,definition,sources,and mode of action of polysaccharide are *** roles of polysaccharides in fish farming with emphasis on growth improvement,immune system enhancement,disease resistance stimulation in tilapia farming,and the effects of polysaccharides on abiotic stressors are summarized and discussed.

Moringa oleifera is well known as a highly nutritious plant and a water purifier in fish *** fish has many impressive qualities making them very suitable for ***,this study aimed to evaluate the effect of supplementation of Moringa oleifera aqueous extract(MoAE)at varying concentrations(0,100,200,and 400 mg/kg diet for 90 days)on growth performance,hematological,and some biochemical parameters of Nile ***,histological changes and immunohistochemical expression of caspase 3 in gills and livers were *** enhancements(Powth rate,red blood cells,hemoglobin,packed cell volume,white blood cells,and total serum protein were observed in fish fed 200 mg MoAE/kg diet compared with other ***,a significant reduction(Pof liver and kidney function tests and non-significant changes in lipid profile were *** the other hand,fish fed 400 mg MoAE/kg diet revealed disturbance in the corresponding *** histological degenerative changes were detected in the gills and liver of fish fed 400 mg MoAE/kg *** comparison,fish fed 200 mg MoAE/kg diet showed the best histo-architectures of these organs compared with other *** immune expressions of caspase 3 were determined where gills and liver of fish fed 400 mg MoAE/kg diet revealed extensive number of positive caspase 3 cells indicating severe apoptotic ***,a dietary MoAE at 200 mg/kg diet is recommended to improve the growth performance,hematological parameters,liver and kidney functions in Nile ***,caution must be considered when using MoAE at a concentration over 200 mg/kg diet.

The aquafeed industry continues to expand in response to the rapidly growing aquaculture ***,the identification of alternative protein sources in aquatic animal diets to replace conventional sources due to cost and sustainability issues remains a major ***,insects have shown tremendous results as potential replacers of fishmeal in *** present study aimed to review the utilization of insects in aquafeeds and their effects on aquatic animals’growth and feed utilization,immune response and disease resistance,and fish flesh quality and *** many insect species have been investigated in aquaculture,the black soldier fly(Hermetia illucens),and the mealworm(Tenebrio molitor)are the most studied and most promising insects to replace fishmeal in ***,insect rearing conditions and biomass processing methods may affect the product’s nutritional composition,digestibility,shelf life and required insect inclusion level by aquatic ***,insect-recommended inclusion levels for aquatic animals vary depending on the insect species used,biomass processing method,and test ***,while an appropriate inclusion level of insects in aquafeed provides several nutritional and health benefits to aquatic animals,more studies are needed to establish optimum requirements levels for different aquaculture species at different stages of development and under different culture systems.

Memory loss and dementia are major public health concerns with a substantial economic *** stress has been shown to play a crucial role in the pathophysiology of hippocampal damage-induced memory *** investigate whether the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compound vanillyla cetone(zingerone) can protect against hippocampal damage and memory loss induced by cadmium chloride(CdCl_(2)) administration in rats,we explo red the potential involvement of the nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(Nrf2) signaling pathway,which is known to modulate oxidative stress and *** healt hy male Wistar rats were divided into five groups:vehicle-treated(control),vanillylacetone,CdCl_(2),vanillylacetone+ CdCl_(2),vanillylacetone+ CdCl_(2)+ brusatol(a selective pharmacological N rf2inhibitor) *** effectively attenuated CdCl_(2)-induced damage in the dental gyrus of the hippocampus and improved the memory function assessed by the Morris Water Maze ***,vanillylacetone markedly decreased the hippocampal tissue levels of inflammatory biomarkers(interleukin-6,tumor necrosis factor-α,intracellular cell adhesive molecules) and apoptosis biomarkers(Bax and cleaved caspase-3).The control and CdCl_(2)-treated groups treated with va nillylacetone showed reduced generation of reactive oxygen species,decreased malondialdehyde levels,and increased superoxide dismutase and glutathione activities,along with significant elevation of nuclear Nrf2 mRNA and protein expression in hippocampal *** the protective effects of vanillylacetone we re substantially blocked by the co-administration of brusatol(a selective N rf2 inhibitor).Va nillylacetone mitigated hippocampal damage and memory loss induced by CdCl_(2),at least in part, by activating the nuclear transcription factor ***,vanillylacetone exerted its potent antioxidant and antiinflammatory actions.

The reliance of aquaculture production on the ambient environment suggests its vulnerability to climate *** warming has led to the increase in water temperatures hence exerting a direct and indirect effect on several aquaculture *** is one of the major abiotic driving factors of the growth and survival of aquatic *** temperatures above their thermal threshold tend to lower their performance,health,and *** paper,therefore,aims to give a detailed and comprehensive review on the influence of anthropogenic temperature increase on the general animal physiology,growth performance,survival,reproduction,digestive enzyme activity,immunity,differential expression of microRNAs and apoptosis-associated genes as well as gut and skin microbiome of aquaculture ***,the impacts of increasing water temperature on aquatic ecosystems with regards to pathogen-associated disease outbreaks,aquatic parasites,vaccine efficacy as well as toxicity,and uptake of heavy metals and pesticides are *** provide examples of how increasing water temperatures will impact the global trends of aquaculture production,a couple of freshwater,euryhaline,and marine species,as well as cold-water and warm water species,have been chosen to give a broader perspective on how different aquaculture species respond to temperature fluctuations above their thermal *** the same regard,mitigation strategies for climate change adaptation in the context of global warming such as nutrition,genetics,selective breeding,aquaculture biotechnology,aquaculture nanotechnology,and bacteriophage therapy as well as management and husbandry practices are discussed to ensure a sustainable and continued aquaculture productivity.

木棉是木棉科木棉属落叶乔木植物,是我国南方重要的观赏植物,是广州市和攀枝花市的市花,不仅具有较高的观赏价值,还具有有较高的经济价值、药用价值和食用价值。木棉传统的繁殖方式为播种和嫁接繁殖,其种子不易保存、易变质从而降低种子萌发率;而嫁接繁殖成活率更低。因此,本试验开展木棉组织培养快繁技术研究,以木棉种子为试验材料,通过开展对木棉种子不同消毒方法试验,确定最适合木棉种子的消毒方法,获得无菌种苗;并以无菌种苗为外植体,开展不同基础培养基、顶芽诱导激素组合、顶芽和丛生芽诱导和增殖培养基、生根培养基的筛选及炼苗试验,探索最佳基础培养基、激素组合、诱导培养基和增殖培养基、生根培养基及炼苗方法。结果表明:木棉组织培养最佳基础培养基为MS+蔗糖30 g/L+卡拉胶7.5 g/L;木棉种子最佳消毒方法为A_(2):75%乙醇消毒1 min→无菌水清洗5次→50%H_(2)o_(2)溶液消毒4 h→无菌水清洗5次;最佳木棉种子苗顶芽诱导分化幼芽的植物生长调节剂为6-BA+NAA的组合;最佳诱导及增殖培养基为C_(2):MS+6-BA 0.5 mg/L+IBA 0.5 mg/L+蔗糖30 g/L+卡拉胶7.5 g/L;最佳生根培养基为E_(3):1/2 MS+IBA 0.5 mg/L+蔗糖30 g/L+卡拉胶7.5 g/L+活性炭0.2 g/L;最佳炼苗基质为沙子∶泥炭土∶蛭石=1∶1∶1。通过对木棉种子消毒方法、培养基的筛选、激素组合及炼苗试验,对木棉组织培养技术进行优化,并建立了高效木棉组织培养技术体系,为木棉种苗离体保存、优良单株扩繁、健康种苗繁育及工厂化育苗提供技术支持,也可为木棉遗传转化体系奠定基础。

Microplastics are emergent contaminants threatening aquatic organisms including aquacultured *** study investigated the effects of high-density polyethylene(HDPE,100 to 125 mm)on yellow perch(Perca flavescens)based on integrative evaluation including growth performance,nutritional status,nutrient metabolism,fish health,and gut microbial *** test diets(0,1,2,4,or 8 g HDPE/100 g diet)containing 41%protein and 10.5%lipid were fed to juvenile perch(average body weight,25.9±0.2 g;n=15)at a feeding rate of 1.5%to 2.0%body weight *** feeding trial was conducted in a flow-through water system for 9 wk with 3 tanks per treatment and 15 yellow perch per *** mortality or HDPE accumulation in the fish was found in any *** gain and condition factor of fish were not significantly impacted by HDPE(P>0.05).Compared to the control group,fish fed the 8%HDPE diet had significantly decreased levels of protein and ash(Ponse to the increasing levels of HDPE exposure,the hepatosomatic index value,hepatocyte size,and liver glycogen level were increased,but lipid content was reduced in the liver *** to the control treatment,fish fed the 8%HDPE diet had significant accumulations of total bile acids and different metabolism pathways such as bile acid biosynthesis,pyruvate metabolism,and carnitine *** enterocyte necrosis was documented in the foregut of fish fed the 2%or 8%HDPE diet;and significant cell sloughing was observed in the midgut and hindgut of fish fed the 8%HDPE *** fed the 2%HDPE diet harbored different microbiota communities compared to the control *** study demonstrates that HDPE ranging from 100 to 125 mm in feed can be evacuated by yellow perch with no impact on ***,dietary exposure to HDPE decreased whole fish nutrition quality,altered nutrient metabolism and the intestinal histopathology as well as microbiota community of yellow *** results indicate that extende

oBJECTIVE:To evaluate the anti-oxidant,enzyme inhibition,anti-pyretic,anti-inflammatory and anti-diabetic activities of Iris ***:Anti-oxidant assay was evaluated using DPPH(2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl)radical scavenging and ABTS(2,2'-azino-bis-3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid)inhibitory protocol while enzyme inhibitory assay was evaluated by lipoxygenase and cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitory protocol ***,anti-inflammatory and anti-diabetic potential was evaluated using brewer's yeast induced pyrexia,carrageenan induced paw edema and streptozocin induced diabetes protocols *** biochemical parameters were monitored for the period of ***:The anti-oxidant activity of chloroform fraction of Iris albicans showed the highest scavenging potential against DPPH and ABTS while the maximum inhibitory action recorded against lipo-oxygenase and cyclooxygenase-2 enzymes was shown by n-hexane and chloroform fractions *** anti-pyretic potential of the crude methanolic extract showed dose dependent activity in reducing pyrexia,thereby when the dose was increased the anti-pyretic effect was also *** anti-inflammatory action of the crude methanolic extract administered at the dose of 300 mg/kg was significant at 1 h after its administration,which was found maintained up to 5 *** the anti-diabetic effect of the crude methanolic extract administered at the dose of 200 and 300 mg/kg was noted highly significant at day 6 and was found well maintained throughout the study time period up to 10 ***(Povement appeared in hemoglobin,protein,cholesterol,triglycerides,urea,creatinine,HDL and LDL of extract treated diabetic ***:From this data it could be concluded that Iris albicans have significant anti-oxidant,enzyme inhibition,ant-pyretic,anti-inflammatory and anti-diabetic potential.

In this study, water hyacinth powder-reinforced polymer composites with eggshell filler material are investigated for their mechanical, absorption, morphological, thermal, and characterization properties. Hyacinth powder particles have not been extensively studied in polymer composites. This study investigates the use of eggshell powder for composites made from hyacinth powder. The use of hyacinth powder improves the mechanical properties of composites. With the help of the powder particles, composite samples are produced by compression moulding using an epoxy polymer matrix. 5% eggshell filler varied from 18.25 to 33.64 MPa for tensile strength, 40.28–49.66 MPa for flexural strength, and 2.45–4.75 J for impact strength. X-ray diffraction and Fourier transforms can be used to determine chemical groups, function groups, and crystallinity indexes. Powder particles can be observed by scanning electron microscopes in terms of their bonding behavior, eggshell powder combinations, and primary- and secondary-phase material absorption. According to the research presented in this paper, commercial particleboard applications can benefit substantially from hyacinth powder particles reinforced with eggshell fillers.
