In the pursuit of advancing imidazolium-based energetic ionic liquids (EILs),the current study is devoted to the synthesis and characterization of 1,3-dibutyl-imidazolium azide ([BBIm][N_(3)]),as a novel member in this ionic liquids *** chemical structure of this EIL was rigorously characterized and confirmed using FTIR spectroscopy,1D,and 2D-NmR *** thermal behavior assessment was conducted through DSC and TGA *** analysis revealed an endothermic glass transition at T_(g)=-61℃,followed by an exothermic degradation event at T_(onset)=311℃.Similarly,TGA thermograms exhibited a one-stage decomposition process resulting in 100% mass loss of the ***,the short-term thermal stability of the azide EIL was investigated by combining the non-isothermal TGA data with the tas,it-KAS,and VYA/CE isoconversional kinetic ***,the Arrhenius parameters(E_(a)=154 kJ·mol^(-1),Log(A/s^(-1))=11.8) and the most probable reaction model g(a) were *** observed high decomposition temperatures and the significantly elevated activation energy affirm the enhanced thermal stability of the modified *** findings revealed that[BBIm][N_(3)]EIL can be a promising candidate for advanced energetic material application.

Two vic-dioxime ligands （LxH2） containing morpholine group have been synthesized from 4-[2-（dimethylaminoethyl）] morpholine with anti-phenylchloroglyoxime or anti-monochloroglyoxime in absolute THF at -15 ℃. Reaction of two vic-dioxime ligands with mCl2·nH2O （m： Ni, Cu or Co and n=2 or 6） salts in 1 ： 2 molar ratio afforded metal complexes of type [m（LxH）2] or [m（LxH）2·2H2O]. All of metal complexes are non-electrolytes as shown by their molar conductivities （Am） in DmF （dimethyl formamide） at 10^-3 mol·L^-1. Structures of the ligands and metal complexes have been solved by elemental analyses, FT-IR, UV-Vis, ^1H NmR and ^13C NmR, magnetic susceptibility measurements, molar conductivity measurements. Furthermore, redox properties of the metal complexes were investigated by cyclic voltammetry.

Periodic noble metal nanoparticles offer a wide spectrum of applications including chemical and biological sensors,optical devices,and model catalysts due to their extraordinary *** sensing purposes and catalytic studies,substrates made of glass or fused-silica are normally required as supports,without the use of metallic adhesion ***,precise patterning of such uniform arrays of silica-supported noble metal nanoparticles,especially at sub-100 nm in diameter,is challenging without adhesion *** this paper,we report a robust method to large-scale fabricate highly ordered sub-20 nm noble metal nanoparticles,i.e.,gold and platinum,supported on silica substrates without adhesion layers,combining displacement Talbot lithography(DTL)with dry-etching *** photoresist nanocolumns at diameters of~110 nm are patterned on metal-coated oxidized silicon wafers using DTL,and subsequently transferred at a 1:1 ratio into anti-reflection layer coating(BARC)nanocolumns with the formation of nano-sharp tips,using nitrogen plasma *** BARC nanocolumns are then used as a mask for etching the deposited metal layer using inclined argon ion-beam *** find that increasing the etching time results in coneshaped silica features with metal nanoparticles on the tips at diameters ranging from 100 nm to sub-30 nm,over large areas of 3×3 cm^(2).moreover,subsequent annealing these sub-30 nm metal nanoparticle arrays at high-temperature results in sub-20 nm metal nanoparticle arrays with~10^(10) uniform particles.

Exceptional rate capability from carbon-encapsulated polyaniline supercapacitor electrodes

A high-rate capability carbon-encapsulated polyaniline(PANI)composite is fabricated by a novel electrodeposition method of polyaniline on a carbon nanotube(CNT)forest,grown on carbon *** is followed by coating of an amorphous carbon layer via hydrothermal carbonization(HTC)of glucose,forming a three-layer *** demonstrate that a slow scan rate,voltage-restricted electrodeposition process can be used to produce a uniform PANI coating on individual CNTs throughout the *** CNT forest structure offers excellent electronic and structural connection for the PANI nanofiber network,while the coating of amorphous carbon reduces electrode resistance,promoting enhanced electrochemical performance and reinforced structural stability during charging and *** as-prepared CNT/PANI/HTC composite exhibited a high specific capacitance of 571 F g-1 at 1 A g-1,and 557 F g-1 at 100 A g-1,whilst demonstrating a record rate capability of 98%capacitance retention,when the current density is increased *** advanced rate performance indicates that a slow electrodeposition process produces an electrochemically stable three-layer composite with enhanced diffusion ***,the method developed in this work establishes further control on the electrochemical deposition of energy storage materials,for high-rate capability.

The development of Drug Delivery Systems(DDS)has led to increasingly efficient therapies for the treatment and detection of various *** use a range of nanoscale delivery platforms produced from polymeric of inorganic materials,such as micelles,and metal and polymeric nanoparticles,but their variant chemical composition make alterations to their size,shape,or structures inherently *** encoded protein nanocages are highly promising DDS candidates because of their modular composition,ease of recombinant production in a range of hosts,control over assembly and loading of cargo molecules and *** example of naturally occurring nanocompartments are encapsulins,recently discovered bacterial organelles that have been shown to be reprogrammable as nanobioreactors and vaccine *** we report the design and application of a targeted DDS platform based on the Thermotoga maritima encapsulin reprogrammed to display an antibody mimic protein called Designed Ankyrin repeat protein(DARPin)on the outer surface and to encapsulate a cytotoxic *** DARPin9.29 chosen in this study specifically binds to human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2)on breast cancer cells,as demonstrated in an in vitro cell culture *** encapsulin-based DDS is assembled in one step in vivo by co-expressing the encapsulin-DARPin9.29 fusion protein with an engineered flavin-binding protein mini-singlet oxygen generator(miniSOG),from a single plasmid in Escherichia *** encapsulin-DARPin_miniSOG nanocompartments bind specifically to HER2 positive breast cancer cells and trigger apoptosis,indicating that the system is functional and *** DDS is modular and has the potential to form the basis of a multi-receptor targeted system by utilising the DARPin screening libraries,allowing use of new DARPins of known specificities,and through the proven flexibility of the encapsulin cargo loading mechanism,allowing selection of cargo proteins

The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large Hadron Collider,as Standard model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.

STRATIGRAPHY, DENSITY AND CRYSTAL STRUCTURE OF FIRN-ICE AT DE08-A VERY HIGH ACCUmULATION SITE ON LAW DOmE, ANTARCTICA

An approximately 195 mm diameter flrn / ice core, 234 m long, was thermally drilled in 1987 austral summer at DE08 (66°43'S, 113°12'E) on Law Dome, East Antarctica, where the accumulation rate is about 1200kg/(m2-a); 10mice temperature is about-18.8℃. Analysis was mainly made at the site immediately after drilling. The snow stratigraphy at DE08 is characterised by the lack of coarse-grained snow and other distinct visible feature normally corresponding to annual layers. There is a smooth transformation from fine-grained snow at shallow depth to ice at about 80-90m which is greater than that at most other polar locations due to its abnormally high accumulation rate. According to the marked change in the trend of density with depth and in the crystal properties four stages of the transformation of snow to ice and development of crystal structure can be distinguished; settling stage (0-10m); sintering stage (10-90m); rapid crystal growth stage (90-170m); and dynamic metamorphism stage (170-234m). The rates of densification and crystal growth from the surface to the depth of the firn-ice transition closely depend on the general temperature. Below the transition zone, the crystal growth rate is higher by a factor of 4.3 in comparison with that at other sites. The very high vertical strain rate at DE08 compared to that at the other sites suggests that the crystal growth rate in the ice layer may increase by the associated deformation.
